    4:05 Peter never had Stark money. The relationship between the two was always more of a coworker mentor-mentee. He was gifted some upgrades and the glasses but that’s about as far as he really received monetarily. He even says in the movie how he’s the “most famous person in the world but still broke”. But really glad you guys enjoyed the movie!

    You guys asked if the villains being cured and sent back to their universes changed the outcome of the old movies they came from. Using what we learned from the Loki series, I'd have to say no, those movies/timelines still exist. Now there's just a new branched timeline for each of those characters that were sent back. So now it depends on if there's a TVA pruning branch timelines in that universe.

I think the magical thing about this movie is that it didn’t matter if you absolutely despise MCU’s “Iron Man Jr.” or if you’re like me, and you got defensive and found yourself saying “well what makes the others so great?” The moment you see all of them on screen, those feelings melted away.

    I was thinking about the Uncle Ben question watching this, like why would Peter become Spider-man without Uncle Ben, after all that IS what convinces him to become a super hero. But then I thought wait, this is a young kid in a world where iron man and the avengers exist, of course that would influence a young kid with powers to become a super hero without having a tragedy to urge that on.
    On the other hand though, that "when bad things happen" reason Peter gives to Tony in civil war I think HEAVILY implies the Uncle Ben tragedy, particularly in Tom Holland's performance as well. Hopefully the "Freshman Year" animated show will clear it up. Super excited for that now.

    • @doomraven0
      @doomraven0 2 года назад +5

      That part in Civil War is what i always read into it as well, that that was Holland's Uncle Ben dying he was referring to. Otherwise, it makes 0 sense for him to become Spiderman. I do wish May had made some reference(s) to Ben though.

    • @TechnoArpan
      @TechnoArpan 2 года назад +2

      @@doomraven0 it doesn't make 0 sense. Like the above comment says, he's a kid who might look up to heroes and decide to become one. But that line did make me think of Uncle Ben. Maybe Uncle Ben didn't die in his arms, rather it was like the OG comics where he found out Ben was dead and later found the criminal. That would explain why the power and responsibility quote was missing. And the reason the line he said was more directed towards himself rather than general wisdom.

    I don't really get Dylan's Jameson take considering that's kinda always been the character. Like Jameson's claim to fame is being hyperbolic to no end about Spidey, regardless of whether he fully believes what he's saying or not.
    You can still redeem that if you write it correctly; people in real life have been redeemed from far worse

    • @jasonmsanchez
      @jasonmsanchez 2 года назад

      @@DS01 I disagree to an extent because not every portrayal of Jameson is like the "Alex Jones" type. My biggest support is Spider-Man: The Animated Series. He thinks Spider-Man is a menace because of his experience with people in masks and how they can evade accountability. But he also realizes when Spider-Man does good and can work with him when it comes down to it. Plus he's got journalistic integrity as shown in "The Alien Costume" saga. He gives a retraction about Brock lying to him that Spidey stole Prometheus X. He believes in what he publishes.
      The idea that he would push BS supplements on his podcast did rub me the wrong way. Especially since I grew up with the Spider-Man: The Animated Series and the Sami Raimi Trilogy, which both Jameson's portrayals are ones about actually believing in what they publish and are willing to make corrections when they get things wrong.

Marisa Tomei Aunt May was great and I have no issue with her saying the classic great power speech considering the quote was done by the narrator. Now if only comic aunt May can die. I absolutely loved this movie! I went to see this today and I’m so glad I did. I loved the interactions between the spidermen, the moments we got in the condo with Electro, Doc Ock, Norman and Sandman/Flint Marco. I just love seeing the chemistry between the characters, and then talking about stuff really. My favorite scene, in terms of the spidermen scenes was when all 3 of them were at the Statue of Liberty and were talking about the villains they fought, and before that, how Tobey Maguire’s Spiderman can just shoot webs from his wrists unlike the other two when they rely on technology for that. I also like the line where Andrew’s Spiderman said how he always wanted brothers, and I could sense the brotherhood between him and Tobey’s spiderman. Also, Sal mentioning how Tobey’s Spiderman probably has a kid (since Tiffany told Sal how Tobey’s Spiderman saying “it’s complicated” probably means that he’s married and has a kid with MJ), I didn’t even think of that. I just assumed that their relationship was rocky and they just eventually worked things out. But now that I think about that idea being the case, I can actually see that being why Tobey’s Spiderman said “it’s complicated” when it came to him mentioning his relationship with his Mary Jane. Honestly, I’d love to think that’s the case, since he’s the oldest one of the trio, and he’s probably lived a good life to where he’s now got a family of his own (sorry for rambling about that, I just love that idea that he and Mary Jane have a kid in their universe haha). But yeah, overall, this movie was great, and I just loved the story and how it came to its conclusion here. I’m excited to see what the next spiderman movie will have, especially now that Peter is gonna be spiderman on his own this time, and that his suit looks like in the comic books, aka being a classic spiderman suit look

    I'm so glad you guys mentioned that issue with sandman. I noticed that immediately when he showed up at the big fight that he really didn't have any motivation to be there. Sure he wasn't trusting of Tom Holland after he found out it wasn't his spider man, but there wasn't anything to set him against Tom Holland. The only other issue I had with this movie was the first appearance of green goblin in the bridge scene, I feel we should have gotten at least 30 seconds of a fight with him after he showed up, especially after we got like 5 minutes of doc oc fighting. You easily could have taken 30 seconds from doc oc and giving it to Green goblin. And I feel like if we did, we would have gotten even more of a depth to him showing up to Aunt May as Norman and asking for help. Or him destroying the power ranger helmet? I just felt like he got jipped a bit, since all he got to do was drop a bomb. Even sandman and electro got more of an intro than he did. It was kinda disappointing. But all in all, amazing movie! Having just watched the movie, I wasn't sure how to feel. They did a lot of things I wasn't sure about, but having listened to you guys, man, I think I did really enjoy this movie and I'm excited to see what they're going to do with the character(s) here on out, it's more just the initial shock of what they did and the fact that I was a little grumpy in the theater because I had chattering hogmonkeys all around me. Cheering for too loud and too long, some people talking about upcoming scenes to the left from spoilers they found online or explaining backstories, some people asking questions about what was going on in spanish on the right, like, guys, come on, if you did not see the other movies of the MCU and the other Spider-Man movies which were clearly advertised to be important, what are you doing in here?! But regardless, do none of you know how to act in a movie theater? I get that I saw the movie on opening weekend, but it's to avoid getting spoiled because people on the Internet are jerks, not also have the movie ruined in every other way. But the parts I was able to watch I enjoyed.
    That said, I was disappointed that Tobey's suit didn't have the proper raised webbing while Andrew's suit looked like they pulled it right off the hanger from leftover props from TASM 2. You guys spent all that money to have Sandman be CG all the time when he didn't need to be, but Tobey can't have his suit look right? I've got a number of little gripes about this movie, like some of the metatextual commentary about backs or being lame but actually amazing. I mean I get it, but also, it was pulling me out from the movie. Also they gave Doc Ock and Electro their themes, and nobody else got theirs. There was more of a choir when all the Spider-Men were swinging, but I was hoping everyone's themes would have come back and played when things were happening. Like, we followed Andrew for a hot second and Tom's theme played. No, he needs one of the two themes he got. I know, I should be happy everyone's in the movie, but if you're going to do it, man, do it right and give me some proper themed music.
    Of the three MCU Spidey movies, I think I like Homecoming the most, Mysterio is one of the best villains in a Spider-Man movie (let alone the MCU) which really elevates Far From Home, and No Way Home feels a bit odd because it's everyone else's villains and it felt like something was kind of missing without the Vulture and Mysterio, but they're not superpowered or physically augmented, so there's nothing to fix, so they wouldn't have fit the premise of the movie. Also, I don't want to lose Ned or Michelle, but this does offer an out for fulfilled contracts, and now new characters can be introduced. At least No Way Home felt like a conclusion to the trilogy, and I do appreciate that. In fact, it's the most definitive an end to a movie franchise in the MCU has been since Iron Man 3. It's still not a proper trilogy because Civil War precluded things and Infinity War and Endgame are crammed between Homecoming and Far From Home, but whatever, such an idea of a trilogy of movies being a singular story in the MCU is wishful thinking.

      Tobeys webbing was raised from what I saw, but it was much more flat and closer to the suit than previously seen. The lenses are also black and white again and the logo is just barely different, so I just take it that it's a newer suit that he made in his later years as Spider-Man. I think Andrews suit hasn't changed at all because Gwen made that costume for him in a canon supplementary comic that serves as an inbetweener for TASM and TASM 2. That's just my theory tho

    I think the single best experience I've ever had in a theater was the Cap Hammer moment. All at once everyone just...screamed. They didn't cheer, they just screamed, and I swear to god for a split second my hearing dipped out at the volume of it. I went to see NWH in a small town at 10pm, so there was maybe 20 other people and it was basically silent the entire time, and I felt like I missed out a bit on the experiance. • @liamhemstock2286

    It worked for me. There was perhaps to many jokes at the start for something so serious and I did feel like we were just waiting for the villains to show up and the spell to go wrong but from the moment when Peter took the cube from Strange to the final swing I loved this film. I didn’t even mind the open wing stuff I felt like it was needed to why Peter would want to do this.
    Now, this is a spoiler review which means I can talk about the returns of Toby and Andrew. What an iconic moment. Again maybe to many jokes (the most jokes Toby’s Spider-Man has ever had honestly) but them doing the science stuff together, talking about their guilt and loss or even as simple as them talking about the villains they thought and how Toby and Andrew are fascinated by the fact they are in space. By the way, one thing I wanted from this film was for each Peter to feel different and whilst the amount of jokes made that a bit hard sometimes they managed to distinguish them by revealing what they had been up to since their franchises ended, for Toby it was balancing being Spider-Man and being with Mary Jane after years of struggling or his ego getting in the way, for Andrew his anger over failing to save Gwen basically made him a bit like Ronin when you think about it as he was killing people or at least brutally injuring them. He FAILED at being Spider-Man and that’s why he wanted to not only redeem himself but also prevent Holland’s Spider-Man from doing the same.
    Toby’s Spider-Man always saw the good in people dispute their anger and them being evil and that’s why he stopped Holland’s Spider-Man from killing Norman. Genuinely shocked we didn’t get a Doc Ock and Toby Spider-Man team up against Norman.
    The cure plot was fun but also in a way a bit sad. It felt like they closed the door on those characters returning and that’s a shame but I do think it worked and fit with Spider-Man not wanting to send them back to die. The Holland and Defo fight scenes were incredible especially the ones in the apartment where he is just punching him with such anger and each time Goblin smiles more and more and even laughs!!
    Also, Aunt May as brilliant here. The best Aunt May has been since the first TASM honestly. Her saying to Peter “with great power comes great responsibility” was a brilliant moment and was the moment that nearly made me cry. Her death was handled very well, both nailed that scene.
    Now, the ending. I usually would hate this kind of ending but I’m going to say this, it’s the most Spider-Man ending to a film ever. What I mean by that is it’s him having to throw everything he loves away, to protect the people he loves and to help everyone “when you can help someone, you help everyone”. Him making everyone forget who Peter Parker is was a fantastic way to basically do a soft reboot. Him getting a crap apartment and needing to pay rent and then hearing on the radio about a crime so he can suit up and go after them was a very Tobey Maguire Spider-Man thing to do. The new costume looks fantastic by the way. Gone is the Iron Boy Jr memes, gone is this boy struggling to grow up, this film humbled Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and made him an adult and made him Spider-Man in my opinion. He say a single word when swinging, nothing. He swung alone with a new found responsibility to do the right thing.
    Spider-Man 4 (or Venom 3) seems to be a crossover between the two with maybe the black suit getting to Spider-Man and him going across the multiverse to fully connect it to Tom Hardy’s Venom. This is probably how they right him out of the MCU. No one knows who Peter Parker is now. Personally, I say do it the other way around, bring Venom INTO the MCU. You want Avengers 5 to feel massive and like a big deal, a team of Doctor Strange, Thor, Spider-Man, Venom and Shang-Chi would be a fun way to do it.

    Spider-Man: No Way Home - Peter says "Yeah I know" when May drops the responsibility line

      The fact that lizard is here when the narrative of the film is that these villans die fighting Spider-Man. Since he didn’t die in TASM 1(since we see him in the post credit scene of TASM 1) logically it means they had a rematch after the the Events of TASM 2. Meaning he was killed post Gwen’s death. • @DanV900
      @DanV900 2 года назад +2

      @@youfirst6611 You are confusing Doctor Strange’s lines from the trailer with the movie which Benny did here too. In the trailer, Strange says the villains’ fates are to die fighting Spider-Man. In the movie, he has no idea what their fates are and just wants to get them back to their own universes where after Peter tells him that some of them die, he responds by saying, “If they die, they die.” He then says their sacrifices are necessary. You are clearly the one who needs to rewatch the movie. The Doctor Strange dialogue is NOT the same since it was for marketing purposes. Lizard was cured to end ASM 1 and Garfield references doing that before while in the lab coat. He didn’t mention a rematch and there never was a rematch. Sandman also wasn’t killed in Spider-Man 3. You would have to assume that Tobey was involved in his death too later which is laughable. Tobey forgives Sandman who leaves to end Spider-Man 3. They didn’t fight again.
      Andrew Garfield’s dialogue says he became rageful and no longer pulled his punches where he was bitter and he doesn’t want Holland’s version to end up like him. That doesn’t mean that he started killing people. He just didn’t want Holland to be brutal like he was. He said he fought the Rhino by the way, not that he killed the Rhino which is the end of ASM 2. Tobey is the one to stop Tom Holland from killing Norman which you would have seen. He referenced being involved in killing the man that he thought killed Uncle Ben from Spider-Man 1 which is why he stops Tom Holland. Tobey is the one who admits to being involved in a death where it didn’t make things better. That’s why Back in Black is relevant in regards to Garfield with a brutal Spider-Man who doesn’t kill and even the Public Scrutiny arc from Ultimate Spider-Man where Spider-Man brutalizes the imposter. That imposter was just a teenage boy. Once again, watch the movie and don’t fall for the trailer’s dialogue for Doctor Strange. There is a HUGE difference. Wong says not to cast the spell in the trailer and in the movie says to leave him out of this when Strange mentions doing it. Those are not the same at all.
