Quite a few here write about imperfections of this performance. They write about the same things in different languages. I found the performance to be very sincere, inspired and inspiring. The collective is reaching emotional depths with facility and elegance. Thank you very much indeed!
I have come to regard the sublime Stutzmann/Jaroussky/Barath recording as the gold standard for Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, but this version by Litomyšl et al is also extremely moving and has some absolutely stunning moments and qualities. Three cheers for such variation -- let all the flowers bloom!

preciosa! la cantábamos con el Coro del Liceo de niñas de Antofagasta (puerto de Chile en el Desierto de Atacama)... año 1972, maravillosa! con coro orquesta y solistas venidas de un coro alemán de no sé dónde... de Santiago probablemente. Qué energía y convencimiento de nuestros maestros Belfor Aibar director y Aura Riveros Romo, pianista y pedagoga de música! qué altos aires cantábamos, y SIN SABER LEER LA MÚSICA!... éramos tremendas y nuestros maestro y maestra unos locos imprescindibles!

All right: If you are a closed-minded purist, don't listen to it: After all, Pergolesi wrote the Stabat Mater for a small string ensemble , a soprano, and a mezzo-soprano. However, if you want to enjoy Pergolesi anew, listen to the piece with a choir of women and two soloist. etc. It is well performed, in my opinion, sounds wonderful, and the soloists and the choir sing their parts exquisitely. If the Kitschy part with the cross and black head scarfs bother you (toward the end), turn the screen off and listen. Worth your while. I highly recommend to view & listen to it from beginning to end. I even suspect that Young Pergolesi would have liked it a lot. Thanks to this Czech ensemble very much!
I agree!!! Maybe because I wasn't looking, just listening... ;-) But I also think this is a fairly good version. I personally prefer interpretations which are close to the original intentions (as much we can know those) but I absolutely find this very should be respected! Bravo to the soloists, choir and orchestra.
Yes, my favorite Pergolesi Stabat is with Jarrousky (counter tenor) singing the mezzo, Stutzman conducting and a beautiful, spiritual soprano...but this is also very beautiful, and "insists" on my full attention.

This version as to my opinion is played too quickly.
Freddy Dauwe too quickly, really, and this ridiculous choir.... why?? It’s only for soprano and contralto.
Nothing wrong with the voices. But simply too quickly. And indeed ,the choir is not at all necessary.
