  • I was at opening day of Minnie's Funderland - Tokyo Disneyland's first new event in 4 years! See how a Tokyo Disney Resort local spends a quiet Wednesday in January and enjoy a guided tour of the entire park, including Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Snow White's Adventures, Country Bear Jamboree, Monsters Inc Ride & Go Seek and more!
    I'm new to vlogging so please forgive the technical issues (and my inability to edit out any of my ramblings) and thanks for watching!

    Absolutely loved the vlog I hope you keep making them!
    If you want to do more Vlog-style content I really recommend the DJI osmo pocket 3, it has a great lower light sensor for a handheld gimbal system and it's not super intrusive. Also you can pick up a version with a wireless lavalier ready to sync to it. It's also a killer cam for shooting b-roll. I've been using mine at Disneyland since picking it up and am happy with the results.

      Thanks buddy I really appreciate all of that!
      Yes I’m definitely in the market for a new camera. I got the iPhone Pro Max thinking it would be all I need, but as you see at the end of this video it does struggle a bit with the low light and it’s not the easiest to point at yourself.
      I’m absolutely gonna keep making them!

    I second the notion to try a Japanese curry even if you don't think you're a curry fan. I loathe Indian curry but I decided I had to try one at Hungry Bear and I LOVED it. So much so that I bought a few boxes of the Tokyo Disneyland curry to share it with my family in the states

      Oh yeah you can buy the curry packs to bring home too! Yeh Japanese curry is a whole other ball game. I love the stuff!

    Fantastic video! Every video I see of Tokyo Disneyland makes me want to go there so far and make me sad how much worse the American parks are operated!
    Since there’s not many people when you were there, would you say January is usually one of the best months to visit Tokyo Disneyland?

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks friend! There are things OLC do better but I am envious of the American parks’ Annual Passes and later opening hours!
      January is a great time in terms of crowds. You do have to be careful though as, just like in this video, there tend to be some big ride closures around this time. April is also a great time to visit and the weather is more pleasant too.

      @@8bitthemeparkYou’re Welcome! Thanks for letting me know! Would you say January and April are the best months to visit then? If yes then I’ll likely just stick with my original plan of going in April 2028 for the 45th Anniversary.
      The hours are definitely one thing the American parks have over Tokyo, bout overall I’m so thankful that Tokyo Disneyland is operated by The Oriental Land Company. I love that except The Mickey Mouse Revue they haven’t really removed anything super special, and that they get great new additions themed to actual Disney IP, where sadly the US parks in the past decade have gotten mostly things acquired under Iger that I don’t care about.
      Also you talking about how Tokyo Disneyland’s Splash Mountain being less wet than the American versions makes me want to know if it doesn’t go into refurbishment often?
      At Walt Disney World at least it would usually close at the beginning of the new year, but since you filmed this in January, I’d assume that’s not the same for Tokyo Disneyland.

      April 2028 sounds great. If you’re here for the 15th you could see the actual anniversary! Your buddy Bob was here for the 40th! 😅
      It’s cool that there’s a resort that does things differently, and the maintenance is excellent.
      Yeah Splash doesn’t tend to close for winter like water rides at other parks tend to, I’m sure scheduled maintenance would be more likely during winter months, but it’s not a certainty at all.

      @@8bitthemeparkThanks for letting me know! I’ll definitely make sure to check the website when it comes to time to me to book flights to see if nothing I really want to see is closed, but otherwise April 2028 sounds like a great time to go!
      I personally really hope that Iger is finally gone by the time of the 45th anniversary. 😂
      I also forgot to mention that when you mentioned that you were the last ever person to ride Buzz at Hong Kong Disneyland, I was of the very last to ride Splash Mountain at Walt Disney World! I did a Disney College Program and a few days after I got there I made a friend who loved Splash Mountain like me and we both rode the heck out of it when it was still open. (She rode it over 300 times and I rode it almost 150 during our program.) And I actually got to ride it seven times on the last day and my friend and I were of the very last to ride it after 11:00PM and I ended up being the last ever guest to enter and exit the store Splashdown Photos. I’ll be forever thankful for that, I can’t believe that Monday will be an entire year since it closed and I really can’t wait to ride it again at Tokyo Disneyland and the fact that they have no interest in changing it just shows how much better I think The Oriental Land Company operates things!

    Are the crowds really that bad at the end of the year? I was thinking of going this November

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  8 месяцев назад

      November’s pretty wild yeah. If you avoid weekends it won’t be sooo bad, but a lot of people do their annual visit during the Christmas event.
