0:42 Debra mocking Robert was funny “I live in an apartment. I don’t even have a lawn. Raymond has a lawn.”
Always loved how she imitates him lol
This is one of Patricia's Heaton best part from the very start.
PatrIcia Heaton and Doris Roberts OUTSTANDING ACTING SKILLS
and of course outstanding writing and directing for those scenes.
WOW. FUNNY!!!
FRANK IS ALWAYS RIGHT! lol to " I think they found one." made me laugh so much
The Angry Family lol
I remember the episode. The twins were referring to some tv story or the like, which they admitted later. It was only the family's guilt reaction that led to this meeting.
One of the all time great monologues from ELR.
Imagine your husband warning you about living across the street from his parents and brother, you should be quiet. You were forewarned 😂
Just read this comment and man I always forget that it was RAY who said no to moving across the street and it was DEBRA who pushed to buy the house -.-
Any family with more than 1 member in it is dysfunctional. Thats how it is
She was pregnant. She wasn't thinking straight.
@@Surfer041 truer words have never been spoken. They turn into barracuda when pregnant
@actuary33 She subconsciously resents Ray for ruining her life too. She wasn't happy being married to him. Robert and Frank at least treated her with some level of respect and kindness, unlike that witch Marie.
1:47 Thanks Frank. He found a breakthrough the answer to their problems. Marie is a problem from the start. She criticizes, pushy and demanding
That’s absolutely true and Frank’s right. Let’s not forget how very narcissistic Marie is.
Frank told the truth, Marie can’t stand the fact that Debra married Ray because she feels that Debra stole her son away from her. Marie is the cause of all the family problems. She has to be the center of attention in the family.
Absolutely 💯 Marie also has a sick infatuation with Ray 🤮
@@tammywebb1289 oh absolutely, she said in one episode that if Ray wasn’t her son, she would be with him.
1:23 - "Go on Adam".. gets me every time, He's just exasperated. LMAO
Ray tried to warn Debra, i don't wanna hear it lol.
Frank is laying down truth in the eyes of God and Man.
Eileen: We do have counselors. Father Hubley is very good.
Ray: No, no. That's the last thing that we need.
Eileen: Why do you say that?
Ray: Because then everybody's talking about it and...
Debra: Look what are you... Why do you have to be so closed minded? You see this is the attitude.
Ray: I'm not close minded.
Debra: Ugh! What are you doing? Right now? This is who you are! Why can't you just talk about things? Huh? Talk!
Eileen: You know I have to say that you're actually exhibiting some of the very traits that seemed to jump off the page in Michael's book.
Debra: Who?
Eileen: Um. well, uh, you.
Debra: Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. First of all, it's not a book. It's pieces of construction paper.
Ray: You sound a bit close minded.
Debra: Hey! Eileen, you have no idea what I have to put up with. When I got married I didn't just get a husband. I got an entire freak show that put up their tent right across the street. And that would be fine if they stayed there. But every day, *every* day. They drop a truckload of their insane family drek into my lap. How would you like to sit through two people in their sixties fighting over who invented the lawn? The lawn! And then the brother! "I live in an apartment. I don't even have a lawn. Raymond has a lawn." But you can't blame him when you see who the mother is. She has this sick hold on the both of them! And the father is about as disgusting a creature as God has ever dropped on this planet. So no wonder the kid writes stories! I should be writing stories! My life is a gothic novel. And until you have lived in that house with all of them in there with you, day after day, week after week, year after friggin' year, then you are in no position to judge me!
Eileen: 😨…
Best 👌🏽 line;
" my life is a gothic novel "😅
And;
" there, right there; she married him & this one cannot take it "😂
Weird family
Possibly the most iconic moment from the show, especially 1:03
That look on Marie's face...then the "How dare you?"💀😅😂🤣 Frank was telling the truth tho.🤷🏾♂️
Frank was right. Marie never liked Debra!
Debra was very mild natured in the first season. It's only with each season she turned aggressive and loud little by little which shows her way of adapting to the in-laws.She is the only character which goes through a change in her nature because of the company she kept.
you have to have a witch hunt!
I think they found one🤣🤣🤣
😏👉 Witch: Marie Barone 🧙♀️
Back in my day... Like they're the example of what's right and good lol
Technically she set up her tent across the street from the freak show.
It was Debra’s fault all the along. Ray tried to warn her but she didn’t listen because she was heavily pregnant with twins.
@@brittanyc.4540 which is why she lowkey hates Ray. One thing women DONT like, is being proved wrong, and Debra spends her life mad as a hornet because Ray was right, from the jump
And at the end of the day he was writing about a cartoon. It's funny how a cartoon fits the description of a family. 💀😅😂🤣
Marie is playing the victim as usual..nice going marie
Great…this episode is well written!! 🏆

…teach and guide them well with love and selflessness! 🎈

I think Robert breaks character when Raymond knocks Debras hand away with the tissue.
1. Frank was Right. Marie could never get over the fact that her precious Raymond got married, so is over at Rays house everyday unannounced and uninvited and openly disrespects Debra as a wife and mother.
2. Ray did warn Debra about her family and she didn’t listen. So now has to live in the hell she created for herself.
Even in the real life they are
This was like watching my own family.
Frank 4 president ❤❤❤
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 0:15
Yes they are dysfunctional
Is that a rhetorical question?
Marie predicted the future of our downfall. Mediocrity failed us all.
😢😂yup and so did everyone else
Worst of all the generation that complains about it is the generation that paid for all those trophies to give to their own kids.
It is messed up that everyone judges them because michael has an imagination
He should have known better 😂
I think is actually one of the best episodes of ELR as it gives a great message about family tension and how blaming everyone else for your problems just makes everything worse. Their counseling session proves this as Marie blames Debra for ruining everything, Robert blames Ray because he has everything, and Debra has a meltdown over her in-laws when she decided they would live across the street from them despite Rays endless warnings. Frank was the only one who spoke truth that Marie is the cause of their problems because of how psychotic she is and what did she do, act like she’s the last person to blame. The real problem with them is that none of them take personal responsibility and always think they deserve better which results in endless fighting. What’s worse is they never think about how it affects everyone around them because they only are concerned about themselves.
Debra is a wonderful woman from sister Lewis ❤️
Two scenes. Great actors. A laugh track. Omit the laugh track and have the actors perform the same two scenes without the comedic take. Not so funny anymore.
First like and comment!
One of the great shows in history.
