Rising Stars: Connor's Story

In 2023 we launched a Tourism Ambassador ‘Rising Star’ programme in partnership with Argyll and the Isles Tourism Cooperative to support young employees to progress their careers and highlight the range of jobs and opportunities in the Hospitality industry in Argyll. This year, we have five Rising Stars, each with their own stories and experiences on what the Rising Star programme means for them.
This is Connor Nichol, modern apprentice at the Portavadie Hotel and Spa in Loch Fyne.
From his first visit as a 13 year old boy and a pledge to one day come back and work at Portavadie, to 10 years later with a burgeoning career in hospitality and a position as front of house receptionist in his dream venue, this is Connor's Rising Star story.
