Didn’t go to either school, I’m a CMU grad. I usually pull for UofM is the rivalry, but opinions like Braylon’s make it harder and harder to root for Michigan
UM fans needs to realize the whole "little brother" thing makes THEM look stupid. MSU has owned UM as of late. They have won 8 of the last 10, 3 B10 titles since UM's last B10 title, a playoff appearance, etc. UM has a great tradition, but this whole entitlement garbage is ridiculous. They haven't won anything of note in a long time. Pay respect to MSU and more importantly.....try beating OSU. They are UM's daddy.
History matters, I don't disagree that UM has the better program historically. But to me, I care more about recent history. I am 27 years old, I don't really care about the 1984 Tigers winning the World Series or things like that. I care about what I have seen and experienced. Not that history doesn't matter, but it's not relevant as to the present. UM has beaten OSU 1 time since 2004 and MSU twice since 2008. That's sad.
Typical Michigan mentality! I keep hearing the lyrics from one of the greatest singing duets of all time Milli Vanilli "Blame it on the rain" while i am wiping the tears of laughter away. Michigan football is hilarious!
Omg.....are.you kidding me.....Braylon Edwards is proof positive of what Mike Valenti has been saying all along.....michigan faithful living in a dream world and disregarding what has happened over the past 10 years...."If it doesn't rain we win" claims Braylen who as a big ten network anchor should check his Michigan prejudice at the door when he goes to work.....he was a former player but he is a current big ten network anchor....his comments were absolutely ignorant and truly disrespectful.....just sad that somebody with a voice can spread this kind of garbage and have no one call him out on it......Braylen has no business working for the big ten network.....he should be on the sideline at Michigan as an assistant coach......shameful.
Raymond Beguhn Braylon has been saying more positive things about MSU from the start of the season & has been very critical of Michigan.. I think he is doing best & analyzing what he sees 👀 He has given credit where its due. He has been way more positive on Sparty than Mike has Mike was the one saying the UofM defensive coordinator was going to school tbe MSU offensive coordinator & yet MSU had decent success in the 1st half & got up early. Thats key in a rivarly game. Credit to state Michigan must be better
According to Braylon Edwards he got run out of Cleveland because he was a Michigan U grad. It had nothing to do with him dropping %50 of his targets. I think this guy just has trouble accepting his failures.
moved to the state in 2011 mr.edwards and fans like him are the reason i never supported those hacks in ann arbor been bleeding green ever since #Spartans4life
Michigan was suppose to have the better defense if anything the rain should have helped them not hurt them, the only advantage that State got out of it was for once Dave Warners turtling mid to late game play calling actually worked better because of the rain.
5 Michigan turnovers. F I V E turnovers. If the weather was dry, MSU would have lit the board up more than they did. Rain effected both teams, but good teams don't use weather as an excuse. They take ownership on the loss and move on to the next game. Or at least that seems to be the way it works in East Lansing
Another thing Rich Rod completely gutted & overhualed the roster to implement his spread offense & smaller defensive athletes for speed & that was doomed to fail in the cloud of dust big 10 conference..MSU took advantage along with the whole conference..& Hoke was a joke. Harbugh 1st year against MSU..a miracle play & they won..2nd year he won half the staduim filled with michigan fans.. This year i give state mire credit for this win then all the past in their run . tide is turning back. MSU will get some more wins against Michigan in the next decade & that will make for a good in-state rivarly..competitive games will always be good for both
Michigan is "really" an 8. But against MSU for some reason, they often "act" as a 5.Against OSU, they often "act" as an 8. Evidence, the 42-41 game a few years ago. That's what he means by they expect to beat MSU. Because MSU is overall worse than Michigan, but in game day, they keep underperforming. One of these days, they'll stop that.
I hope UofM calls MSU "Little Brother" every year in the pregame hype. MSU always come out playing pissed off and the results speak for themselves. The power of anger as a motivational fuel is amazing. UofM can win the pregame banter as long as MSU wins the football game. Keep doing what you're doing and keep getting what you're getting.
@@SBUXKid72Tuck turned out to be a bad investment and we all know what happened he couldn’t keep it in his pants. That one year in 2021 he benefited from a HOME RUN pick in the portal RB K9. Mel Tucker put together one of the worst coaching staffs in the country and it got exposed in 2022 and 2023.
Michigan had a chance to win that if eddie mcdoom did not drop that pass. Rain or not state did not have any issues catching int's. We sucked in this game due to players on offense playing soft. No true leadership on the offense side of the ball.
Still, Braylon makes the better point. That Valenti needs to bring up how “disrespectful” things are…Valenti is typical vote for the other team, if my team wins I win
Im just happy that Braylon made a point that after State took a lead in dry weather, the rain (MONSOON) basically was like winning a Nascar race under caution. The rain was a major factor. If Valenti could just accept the fact most Michigan State victories over Michigan are basically tainted with outside factors...then Michigan fans wouldn't be so annoyed with their whole "chip on the shoulder" routine they play. When they lose, they go back to where they belong. When they win, they act like they've never won anything before. How many wins will it take before they will carry themselves like winners do. Might not be possible.
The university of Michigan is better academically, athletically, and socially. Those are the facts. And you know it, and deep down that kills you inside knowing that you’ll never be Michigan.

Braylon was EXACTLY right with what he said about believing in MSU while Mike wasn't. Check the tape! You can not talk to clowns like Mike. Why bother?
Valenti gtfoh! You beat us by 17 w/o rain? What world do you live in? The rain was a huge part of the second, and we couldn't get acclimated after a slow 1st half. Our QB sucks okay, but to say MSU would have ran the score up on UofM is simply debauchery. You guys won, but don't try to act as if you would have without that rain. The game would be totally different

Now a fair a fair criticism of Harbugh is everyone knew in attendance 24hrs ahead that it will be rain towards the 2nd half of the game & should adjusted & more aggressive with the play-calling...that's how jim Caldwell & lions play also..play a conservative offense then open it late often when they are trailing late. Nathaniel Thomas that's the team's fault for not being able to start off well in the first half. You can't depend on turning it around every week at half time. It might be too late, and in this game it was. MSU scored enough in the first half and we were forced to try and move in a monsoon to come back because we didn't in the first half.
I'm sorry. all I have to say is all the games that Michigan has beat MSU in was MSU fault. yeah, we didn't show up to play and the 1 game their was an extra gravitational pull on the earth and lets not forget about solar flares blinding MSU's receiver. This is ridiculous, the rain...lmao. well if Michigan was worried about the rain and they knew it was coming, they should have scored more points in the first half. Braylon is 12 years old
Who’s here after Tuck put it on Michigan for a second time. Of course Braylon was up to his usual as well. Things never change. Lol
Yeah I called out Braylon on him trying to gaslight this moment and still thinks he’s right about all of the excuses that all Michigan fans always say
How does Braylon still got a job....?
I'm an M fan and I watch this from time to time valenti buried him. B.E. is insufferable
He are you feeling about Mel Tucker after 2022 and currently.
I honestly can't believe Braylon is blaming the rain. That's the most elementary excuse. Childish.

music to my ears
As soon as I heard this at 5, I grabbed my popcorn, sat down, and busted out laughing. This is why 97.1 Is King (Especially Valenti))
I love how Mike's wearing a Yankees hat and a giants shirt, arguing with someone who was born in Detroit and played for Michigan.
What does that have to do with anything? Valenti is from NY and a MSU alum by the way.
Edwards is a slappy whos not realistic
Valenti is a slappy who is realistic
It's funny, MSU's defense didn't have trouble catching the ball in the rain.
Jake Johnson bingo!
Jake Johnson lmao u right
Yeah and they managed to beat Penn state in the rain too, I don’t hear PSU fans talking about the weather
Neither did your offense

This argument perfectly sums up every debate with Michigan Fan. Forget the mismanagement of the game, blame the rain.

Yeah Bralon has no argument here. Both teams played in the same rain and MSU was up 14-3 in that dry weather.
This means nothing, State kicked our ass again
Most lopsided debate in history. Don't teach logic in Ann Arbor.
I loved Braylon as a receiver in college but I would not try to be debating Mike about a college football game lol
embarrassing for Braylon...probably why he's nowhere today.
So he's "no where" because he is defending Michigan? Yeah how dare he(sarcasm)
Blaming the rain for team losing a game is equivalent to someone taking their ball and going home
