Thought I'd record this morning's practice session. As soon as I sit down to play the piano, Koko jumps on top to listen. He sits as I do scales, and especially loves my piano cover of Yiruma's River Flows in You. He seems to get very calm as soon as I start to play it. River Flows in You, Kodi
My pregnant cat perked upp when you started playing, walked over to me and spread out across my body. She's not done that in weeks. Had this video playing repeatedly for quite some time and she was purring loudly. High praise indeed ;)
Just earned yourself a new subscriber. I'm depressed and one of the only things that distracts me from my depression for a bit is cats, I have two of them and yours are so wonderful. But I'm away from them for right now because I'm in Europe and I miss them so much. Thank you for posting all about cats and distracting me, you are truly wonderful.

I love Sho Ko! So do my kids, they love Kodi's pure silliness and Shorty's subtle silliness, our cat looks like Kodi, even the marking beside her nose, she's small though, I think she was the runt of the litter, I chose her because we went to look for a kitty at a farm where these nice people fostered kittens, so we went there and I saw this kitten sitting off to the side watching everything and everyone, she wasn't really with the other cats, maybe because she was the runt and the other kittens didn't want to play with her, even now she's one of those cats who likes to sit and watch everything and learn. It's a little weird that she just sits and watches everything everyone does, but she's the best and I love her, I'd always watch Sho Ko videos after my older cat died and it looked like we weren't going to get another pet because of the pain of losing other pets, but a year of watching cat and especially Sho Ko, convinced my stepdad to get a new cat because cat's made us so happy, he even loves the cat so much, more than he'd like to admit, and my mom loves the kitty and kitty loves her, they're funny. As for me and my kids she's the best cat ever!

Watching this video got me wondering what music Kodi really likes and reacts with. Mussorgsky's Children's Games would make a perfect accompaniment to some of Kodi and Shorty's antics too.

Very pretty. I told you that you were talented long before I heard your piano playing. This just proves how correct I was. Your beautiful cats bring back sweet memories of my two cats (who died at eighteen and seventeen). I hope in the future I will be able to give some other shelter cats a good home.
Not at all surprising. My kitties love it when I play my guitars..they seem fascinated by the lovely sounds, and gather around me when I play. I also once had a Newfoundland dog, my much-missed beautiful Rocky, who loved opera. I swear this is true! My classical radio station has opera every Saturday morning, and Rocky would immediately get on my bed, snuggle into my pillows, and put his head close to my radio, and listen to opera for hours. It was uncanny. But he did it. Our animal companions are much more than we know or understand. And that's beautiful, and fine with me!
