@@Mia-xn8zx Omg so many people have missed this 😭 When Percy says the theme park "looks like the setting of every horror movie ever" Annabeth says "I wouldn't know since I've never seen a movie before" And Percy responds with "Never? Like never, never?" And Annabeth responds with "Is there another kind?" AND THEN Percy says "Well, if we both make it out of this quest alive we oughta fix that" THAT'S when he asks her outttt!!!
Yep, can't imagine coming out any other way with a dad that has openly said he hates you and the only way to get him to hate you less is to make him notice you...by being a d*ck lmao
season 2 has already been listed on the official WGA website, I think Disney is just waiting until the final episode to announce it the same way they did Loki season 1.
I love how percy is changing annabeths perspective for the better that was beautiful. Grover really showed out that he is more than a bystander , he is calculated and really smart
I love how much they're leaning into the generational trauma/breaking bad family cycles theme. Annabeth spent her whole life thinking that begging for attention and love from her mother and the other gods was normal until Percy came along and showed her what unconditional love looks like (thanks to Mom of the Year Sally Jackson). You can't buy it, and it shouldn't have to be bought, especially not from your own family. I think Hephaestus felt the same way and was testing both of them to see how they would respond to the chair dilemma. He let them go because they learned the lesson their predecessors didn't. I'm really liking how this is setting Luke up to be the foil to Percy as the kid who continues the cycle because of his resentment towards Hermes, whereas Percy is working to break it. I also like how the episode framed Hephaestus as a foil to Ares. While Ares was proud of how toxic his family is, Hephaestus was over it and wanted to be better. Great writing this week imo
"Doesn't need to be a thing, you know. That you hugged me." I just noticed Grovers's reaction to that 😂. The eye-roll and sigh of realising your bestie is an idiot.
I totally agree with the breaking the cycle reference and how grover played ares for info didn't know he had it in him (also I loved when you said ain't no black people sacrificing themselves on my time)
I feel like I know you from somewhere.... I just can't place it. Love your reactions. I'm surprised that I missed the Percy Jackson books, after seeing 5 episodes I think I want to read the books. Grover is the standout this episode. Love his conversation/ manipulation of Aries. Also, what an accurate depiction of every Aries I know😂
People feel bad for Haephestus for the wat Aphrodite treats him. But if I remember correctly, her and Ares already had a thing. Then Haephestus decided he wanted to marry her, and held Hera hostage until Zeus made it happen. No one asked Aphrodite her opinion. So while I hate cheating, forced marriage is also shitty.
Percy is so clueless most of the time, he probably didnt realize that he asked her out hahaha
I mean, he is 12, so pretty accurate
Wait he did ?

@@Mia-xn8zx no it's ok 😭 it's like a blink and you'll miss it moment
Knowing Ares is Clarisse's dad makes her attitude make so much sense. She truly is her father's daughter.

Annabeth is a poem , but Percy is dyslexic so it took him 4 years to read it
Sea of Monsters has so many good Percabeth moments. Fingers crossed we get season 2!

Leah's acting during the whole episode especially the delivery of the speech was so good ✨✨✨. What a queen.
AnnaBeth said seaweed brain😭
"you're probably not even a fetus yet" is THE diss oh my gods

great insight. All these themes are making me want to read the source material.

Yes, he turns to gold, similar to Midas and how his touch turned people to solid gold lol 😂
Midas is a character that pops up in some later book

This is the most invested i've ever been in Grover's character tbh. I never felt attached to him in the books, but in this show, that's my child.

Excellent reaction, review and breakdown. You made alot of really good points!! Enjoying this so much
Thank you 💕
awesome reaction and commentary!
Thank you! 😁
being encased in gold must heve been so terrifying considering percy is claustrophobic
