As a book reader the additional pearl confused me at first (there were only 3 in the book) but the more I think about it the more this adds emotional weight to the story. It frames Poseidon as genuinely trying to help, which (as other fans have brought up) makes the exchange in the Underworld more upsetting/tragic because he's going to fail at saving all four of them anyway. I'm assuming one pearl will be lost/destroyed before they leave. Also the fact that he apparently never forgot about Sally and cared enough to send a pearl for her is making my heart feel a kind of way 😭 I was not expecting to come away from this series low-key shipping Percy's parents but here we are 😂
Also Lin was great in this episode, his scene with Percabeth is now one of my favorites in the entire show

It also gives book readers alittlw more fun to watch the series because now we dont know exactly whats gonna happen and i kinda like that.

What's funny is poesidon is considered a god who is a destroyer due to his power with earthquakes. So your comment about destruction fits with his godly parent XD

The speed at which I clicked on this! Love your reactions
The lady that's been meeting him underwater is a Nereid. In other words, a spirit of the sea. You might've heard of her freshwater cousins, the naiads, or tree spirits known as dryads.

I really loved Hermes scene. Especially when compared to Ares. He seemed far more relaxed and fine with being talked to disrespectfully which Ares was not but it makes complete wonderful sense for their characters.
Hermes is not only the god of thieves but also the god of travelers, so for him to be far more chilled, soft spoken and more “human” especially since he’d likely be interacting with humans far more due to him being the messenger god, compared to god of War aggressive Ares, makes so much sense!

I really liked this episode and considering I just finished teaching my own teen how to drive, let's just say the ending was intense for me.🤣 Where I disagree is that the casino could've been more enticing with more than just a few arcade games and gambling tables. The energy felt low, why would anyone be drawn to it tho begin with? And considering this was a short episode (30min), 10 minutes of them randomly having fun would've fit perfectly.

They shared behind the scene pics that looked amazing, so I suspect they actually recorded a lot more, but had to cut down because Disney doesn't allow their shows to have longer episodes
I believe they original intention was hour long episodes, I could have sworn that Rick said that was the plan

@@bluflavouredpudding first of all, nice name, I see what you did there. But that's what I mean the episode was only 30 min where previous episodes hit about 40-42. The other episodes that was this short was the St. Louis one. It's making me wonder if the underwater CGI soaked up the budget for those episodes which is why they were shorter than the rest.

Yeah I agree I think Percy is very likeable and he has a good heart. Plus he's got tons of courage which is super admirable. One of my fave book characters

I enjoy your reactions/insights, Aisha. Thanks for the entertainment! I think the "sea oracle" is a naiad (🧚‍♀x🧜‍♀ish). Captions named her Nereid (right after she gave him the pearls).

A Nereid is a sea nymph, a Naiad is a fresh water nymph, and a Dryad is a plant nymph. There will be a quiz later. 😉

12:30 in the Disney+ video while Grover and Augustus are talking. A voice shouts a name 2x...set up for Titan's Curse!

Hope you're feeling better and if not please get well soon. The creature in the sea was a nereid - an ocean nymph. The river nymph from ep 4 was a naiad and the lady who spoke to Grover before he went to the cloven council in ep 2 was a dryad
