There’s no way to reliably remake it without ripping up and reimagining huge portions of the game, and in doing so, alienating the original’s nostalgic fans. Keeping it faithful to the original would also alienate the many many people who didn’t like the original. So basically they’re fu**ed either way. That’s why they skipped it and went with RE4. Entitled fans think they know what they want until they get it, and then complain.
It doesn’t need it 😂. The RE1 remake is the definition of a PERFECT remake. Every single last conceivable detail was improved over the 1996 original and even expanded upon. If Capcom are dumb enough to to remake a remake then it’ll just be another RE3R situation. Thankfully it’s just a baseless rumour from an AI generated clickbait channel

So we are talking about taking all the great elements from RE remake just with kick ass graphics and gameplay. Also, I am in the minority but I LOVED RE3 remake . I thought the parts in Raccoon City positively brilliant. I know it was short but I loved the replay on it. The pacing was terrific. I see no need for a RE5 remake that is so recent and I wasn’t a fan. So my priorities are RE CV , RE 9, RE 1 remake, RE 0 remake , RE Revelations remake. Cheers!!!

Those fixed camera angles made the game way more suspenseful and cinematic, in a way that had never been experienced before in video games. The remake on the GameCube preserved every single last detail from the original and expanded in interesting ways because Shinji Mikami worked on the original AND the remake. Today’s younger gamers overlook and don’t appreciate the atmosphere in these games because they’ve grown up with overly-stimulating games that overwhelm their senses, not to mention TikTok for dumb-dumbs. Everything’s “GO GO GO” like they’re scrolling through TikTok. They need constant feedback and dopamine otherwise their pervasive mental health starts to break down. Of course they “need a remake” 🙄
It definitely doesn’t “need” a remake but boy would I enjoy playing this masterpiece in another more modern version. More of RE 1 is always good.
