@@Areallisnope because they changed a lot, but they didn’t cut really anything which is what Capcom should be doing. You shouldn’t cut content unless it’s terrible
If they did come out with another RE1 remake, I'm sure it'd be good and that I'd have fun with it. But I have the same thoughts on it like I have for the RE4 remake; it was not really necessary. RE4 remake was pretty good and I like some of the changes they did (and some not so much), but overall I could have lived without it. So same goes for any potential RE1 remake. The 2002 version still holds up pretty well for the most part and is the defining game in the entire series in my eyes. If they're going to remake anything else, I think Capcom's time and resources are better spent on remaking Code Veronica and the next new Resident Evil game. I think people need to calm down a bit on the whole remake craze that's been hyped up the last few years.
Absolutely not. The OG remake of RE1 was perfect, and does not need the modern update with the 3rd person over the shoulder perspective. You can't improve on perfection.
That's the beautiful thing about video games - if you prefer the 02 game, you can always play it instead. But a large majority of us prefer the modern play style. Fixed camera angles & tank controls are not a preference for all of us. I've been with this series from the beginning...love every game for its own identity. But I'd be lying if I said I enjoyed the old play style. A Remake of 1 with over the shoulder gameplay has been a literal dream of mine for decades now. Furthermore, for a lot of new fans that were introduced to this series with RE7, they try to go back & play the 02 game and they can't get more than 20 min into it because of the play style & I don't blame them. I think they deserve to experience the first entry in all of its glory.
@@zanestice1137 That is a fair, and nuanced point that you make. We can definitely choose to play whichever game is better suited to our play style. And I completely respect your POV about your enjoyment of the OTS style of gameplay, over the tank controls, which I will admit are kinda hard to master the first time you play with them. However, where I will give you push back is on the last point that you made regarding new fans were introduced to the new style of gameplay, so they can't go back and enjoy the older games more than 20 minutes. That's more of a referendum on the player, and not the way that the game was made. Because they should have enough common sense to understand that games have changed over time, as well as the hardware that can be used to develop games. My personal situation was the opposite of what you described. For example, I was born around the time that RE3 was released, however; I didn't grow up playing the original 3 games in the RE series, on the PS1, or the remake of 1 on the GameCube/PS4. My first introduction to the RE series was with RE4. I played RE4 and hated almost every minute of that game, because the controls were clunky, the QTEs were everywhere, and the character of Ashley was annoying. Plus Saddler wasn't an interesting villain imo. And I still hold that opinion till this day. But I digress. I went back through the games and I loved the original first 3 titles, with the remake of RE1 being my personal favorite. So my experience is the opposite of the one that you are providing with the newer generation of players who have experienced the OTS style of games first, and can't play the old games because they think that they are bad. Not to say that I don't love RE2make as well. It's definitely up there in my favorites.
@@Young_Brumm15 Fair enough! I think it's great that you were able to go back and enjoy the original. I've just seen A LOT of new fans & even friends of mine attempt to go back and play these games starting with the 02 remake/Zero and they tap out because of the dated gameplay. It's a very common occurrence in my experience, especially for people who started with RE7. I am curious did you play the original RE4 when it first released? Because if you did, that's only 2 years after the original Remake of 1. Regardless, It's definitely a big difference from the tank controls & fixed camera angles. IMO not as extreme as someone who started with the more modern entry of 7, if that makes sense.
@@zanestice1137 I definitely think that it is fair to have your preference on the way you play a game (whether it be tank controls or OTS). Everybody has their own perspective and opinions, and I can definitely respect your perspective on it all. I think also, for me, RE1 was the gateway to the entire series and a landmark title in gaming, and I feel like by making it OTS it takes away the originality of the first game, since it was the one to kickstart the whole franchise/make the franchise popular, alongside the og RE2. I enjoy the OTS controls for the other games, such as RE2make and RE5, however; specifically for RE1 Remake and RE3: Nemesis, since they are my 2 favorite games in the franchise, I think that they are better games/more special with the tank controls, because it stays true to the original intent of the gameplay. Maybe I sound wild for that, but I hope that you understand my mindset🤝
Im a little concerned for another RE1 remake, remakes are always going to leave something out of the originals and not all are great remakes ,all im saying they better not screw this up if this remake is going to happen, i enjoyed RE2 and RE4 remakes but there's always something thats different from the originals that enjoyed playing thats never been added to the remakes
I can only imagine what itd be like to have an RE1 remake with a proper A B scenario system maybe... DLC id 100% want a Barry mode and a Wesker scenario... It would even be far fetched to go give Brad a DLC scenario where he flies off but runs out of fuel and lands somewhere off by the woods.. Has to find some fuel to get just enough to get the helicopter back to RC. Just fun ideas that would make revisiting RE1 fun for me personally
I wouldn't say we NEED a remake for RE1 but it would be very nice to have one considering the last remake came out before I was born and is still a bit dated it would only make sense to give it a modernized remake like the rest of the games, besides it would give me yet another excuse ti play RE1 again but in a completely different way and make it way scarier imo.
I personally think CVX is so much more in need of a remake, way more so than re1 remake. Really the ONLY thing I wished we could see more of in RE1 is the outside of the mansion in the forest, and of course a proper canon ending. Not just bits and pieces of the ending through both. As a kid I wanted to play Chris and Jill together but I don't think I want that anymore. I think an A and B side could be a huge benefit but I'm getting into the weeds here. I would like a longer video off of Kenneth too. Maybe even like a 15 minute clip of his entire experience with more of Bravo team.
None of them needed or ever needed a remake they were good as they were and still is and the excuses is the young people need to experience it too it’s just an excuse because nobody in the gaming movie industry can figure out to make a great story’s these days😂
Absolutely not! Those first 3 games from the PS1 era definitely needed remakes. I tried playing the original RE 1 and had to quit after an hour, when I wasn't laughing at the atrocious graphics, voice acting, and music, I was extremely annoyed by the tank controls, the entire thing was like one big parody. To say this didn't need a remake is complete buffoonery. Now it's remade and RE 1 Remake is my second favourite RE game, RE 2 is my favourite. Those are two games that I never would have played if wasn't for the remake.
In no way RE0 is necessary. Yes, it is directly connected to RE1 but they could easily remake 1 without doing 0. in fact I think they will do exactly that. In my opinion RE Zero will be either the last mainline RE game to get a remake or it won't get at all.
@@CC-mp1wk I would also like that but knowing how many people hate it when remakes are not 1:1 copy of the old game, I think too many people will cry how many things got cut from the original 0. And if RE0 gets remade into a DLC for RE1R, parts of the game will definitely get cut.
Resident Evil 1 Remake is perfection. It embodies what the series is all about. Also has the best Jill. But at the same time, as a fan, I wouldn't mind seeing another remake. Or Code Veronica.
I'm in the camp of thinking that classics and REmakes get to exist in harmony. I love them all. They all have their place. I love 2, 3 and 4 but I also love the REmakes. Every single one of them is a damn fine game. Yes, even 3 REmake. Is it a perfect remake? No. But it is still an outstanding game and not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination.
Its not for wesker id love to see a cvx remake. Its because it has my favorite weapons in the franchise. And the game is huge. The tedious things of the original cvx could benefit from the new re engine. As far as re0 and 1 remake they should mash them together for one epic 30th anniversary masterpiece.theres a fan remake of 1 where jill is walking around the police station just before getting ready to deploy to find bravo team. And i thought that was a brilliant concept. Especially if you read the s.d. perry novelizations of re
Remaking code Veronica is not necessarily just about getting weskers story , a lot of us are just huge fans of that game and would love to see it get the modern RE treatment , would love to see how bandersnatches and nosferatu look at n glorious 4k . They also have the opportunity to make the story better by improving Steve as a character the way they did Carlos in RE3 . The original is fantastic but it’s def dated by today’s standards and is the one game left that’s most in need of a remake . I do want to see 5 as well but would love to get this first
@2:30 YES THANK YOU! the poor handling aka non existent zap system is indeed a glaring issue, still a great game, but could have been a 9.5 but instead is like 7.5 to 8.
RE Remaster is fantastic but i'd also like a Remake (RE0 as dlc) to go alongside RE2-4. RE Code Veronica Remake is a given though Dino Crisis is likely in development too
Yes Re1 deserves it the most. Why ? Its the one that started it all. Truly the most survival horror of them all. Idc if it’s already been remade. It deserves its over the shoulder for the modern audience. & yes. I am sorry, but i will be the 1st to say that it’s better than CV. Although i still want a CV remake, after 1 of course.
But it already has one that’s really good and pretty much perfect. What is the point of remaking a already perfect remake to then just cut stuff because a lot of the modern remakes just cut almost half of the content.
Unless they create a playable prologue with Bravo team leaving the RPD and playably dying off one by one before going into the original scenario, it just feels pointless to remake. They keep scaling down the games in content or feed it back to players with DLC. These remakes dont expand on the story they just make them more cinematic.
Also, we know 100% they would cut a lot of the enemies from resident evil one which is a terrible thing you should never cut any content unless it’s bad content sadly they do this a lot
I think they'll probably do Code VX Remake first, THEN RE1 Remake, and then RE5 Remake. I would prefer if they did Re1 first, and then Code V and 5, but you're right, they may do Code V first in terms of business. And RE0 could definitely be DLC, a story expansion, if you will. Like Ada's in Re4, but hours longer, New Game +. Call it "Resident Evil: Origins".
I say bring on the RE1 ReRemake! I’d be interested to see what they change/keep from both games. REmake 2002 will never feel outdated to me. Great video, Anthony!
If they want fresh eyes on the frachise then yes. Lets be real, new style players won't take to the old cam + tank controls after getting a dose of the remakes so in a way it makes sense. I may be a little selfish on this one but 1, CV and 5 (to a lesser extent) should all get remakes, after that focus on the future of the franchise.
@@swilly_the_kid If anyone was truly interested in how the series started they would go ahead and play that GameCube remake, better yet they would start with the ps1 original trilogy Re1 remake remake again would just be a generic watered down summary or reimagining of re1. Filled with cut content, changed story/characters, and dumbed down gameplay
I feel like they'll do it justice. Re4 remake did this right and stuck with things, unlike 3 remake. I think capcom learned their lessons with 3 remake.
The biggest concern I have with another RE1 (aside from cut content) is that the map is too small for it to be a third person OTS game. The mansion would need a complete overhaul to make a playthrough last more than 3 hours. I'd be happy with an old school tank style control but with a first person view every time you aim down your weapon. Similar to how MGS used to be. That would slow the gameplay down enough that it wouldn't feel so short.
@@BMO9K There are many games that have been remade that have antiquated systems that have not been overhauled i.e. tank controls in RE1. What might be obvious to you isn't always the case with the developer, for whatever reasons.
@@daygon128 No, it's Pretty obvious considering RE1 was already remade with tank controls. Also, a first person RE with tank controls sounds super outdated & dumb. Highly doubt they'd do that.
@@BMO9K Exactly your point. They don't always overhaul everything in remakes. But perhaps they'll give us the Call of Duty style from 7 and 8 that's been used in COD since 2003. Or the OTS view that's been used in RE since 2004. Not outdated at all.
this is just the remake that i wanted them to do it makes the most sense as it rounds the new remakes off nicely then they can do code veronica leading into 5
That isn't the point lol Capcom did not connect Zero to Remake at all. She would have said something or referenced SOMETHING but there clearly wasn't a connection between the teams making both games
@@LetsTalkResidentEvil And that would matter to Chris and Jill how? It's not like telling them about it would change anything. Especially when their lives are on the line in that deathtrap.
I'd be really excited for a new RE 1 remake. I admittedly never played the first, I do prefer the modern RE style, and getting it in a more horror focused direction, and is an exciting prospect for me. Also, PSVR 2. If they do a VR version like they have with RE 8 and 4, experiencing this in VR would be peak Resident Evil. Especially if they go as hard on VR interactions as RE 8, there'd be no topping it. RE in VR is so amazing.
Algorithm dropped me here my first time and I’m happy to hear someone talk about the REmakes with a bit more of a critical eye. I feel like the remakes are after a far more gritty tone than the originals. Now, maybe it comes across this way due to early limitations they had with the PSone, but either way the games were always filled with jump scares, moments of tension and a wonderful cheese spread in dialogue and over-the-top action and monsters. RE1 will get a remake and I feel like it will miss the mark mostly because I think the current squad just doesn’t quite get what pieces of these games made them unique or interesting. Maybe they thought “it’s been done before” but the Zapping System and varying story based on 1st or 2nd play through were amazing for the time but also served to define the game. It’d be like making Shadow Of Mordor and removing the nemesis system and wondering why people got aggravated. RE3 had the choice system and certain iconic set pieces (all you mentioned) that served to be some of the best reasons to play 3. the R3MAKE felt more like DLC. REM4KE had seemingly worse voice acting and the story was tweaked to be less interesting, but maybe because I played the original a million times. It’s just like they’re wanting to make RE different when ultimately I think most people would love them if you just made them again but with the RE Engine. I think they’ve also fallen into a creativity rut. 7 comes out, Jack chases you and so does Marguerite to a lesser extent. Okay so let’s put Mr. X in both scenarios and make him far more annoying. YES! Then 3 can have even more Nemesis! 8 can have Demetrescu and her daughters after you! It’s like…. Hey this RE Engine thing does something real well, let’s overuse it to hell. I want Veronica but I don’t know how. The original was the last of the wonderfully cheesy RE games, and for me a favorite, but they cant help themselves anymore so they will definitely play it straight and I think it will fail. These games are far too beloved to get remakes… just ask Bloober Team.
Great think tank vid! Personally I don’t feel it’s necessary but I’m not opposed to the idea of a remake, my only concern is that it would be just serviceable. 2 remake was great, 3 I felt they missed the mark pretty hard and 4 well I thought it was just ok. As far as 0 is concerned, I’ve always felt like it was more of a spin off or a what if scenario like Operation Racoon City. it could be a dlc if they wanted too but I personally liked the leaving equipment laying around simply cause it added a little more strategy than magic item box though I get some people not liking that.
Definitely needs a remake, the Spencer estate would be extra scary on this new version of the RE engine, imagine the different lighting and shadow effects with ray tracing rooms barely lit with a hunter lurking in the shadows. That shit would be epic.
There's a massive difference between knowing who Wesker is, and knowing what Wesker is doing. He's one of the most popular villains in gaming. People who have NEVER played know who he is, but they don't know what his mission is. The thing is, assuming most people will go back and play older games/watch on RUclips is wrong. 5 out of 10 people will look up the lore, 1/10 will buy and play/finish Code Veronica. No one complained about not knowing Wesker with 5 because they joined a numbered title... that's well enough into the plot. Not a remake that's skipping the old info. It works for SH2, but they should absolutely go back and retell his story.
Might as well just remake the Star Wars series now, why not? Or the Godfather series, why not? Might as well just remake perfectly great things just because
Im looking at this as more curiosity than dread. All I would want is a cemented ending. If they did over the shoulder too, Im cool with that cause its a style i prefer. Have the crimson heads become lickers on higher difficulties 0 and Code Veronica should be focused at the moment but we shall see.
I don’t think it needs a Remake but then again we said the same thing about 4 and that Remake was 10/10 perfect. If they can do that again I’ll definitely open up to it. Plus I’m always up for another Resident Evil game
for an old school fan No it doesn’t need a Remake but i understand why ppl want to get that game remaked, but still… why change what’s already perfect, a masterpiece, it’s a lightning in bottle
I'm all for it. The game would be outstanding with the 1st person RE engine. It would be great as third person as well but I think the remake would benefit most with 1st person. And if they only keep, or add, and don't take away, I think the smaller scope of the game could mean more density and quality.
Nah it would benefit more with third person than first, we had no connection with Ethan when 7 came out and it was perfect because we never knew what he looked like. Being able to see Chris and Jill on the new version of the RE engine with the different physics from the clothing and other subtle details would be amazing.
Either remake RESI EVIL 0 or combine the two stories in 1 game make it a longer story more characters more story longer game play even put the cost up I am happy to buy a £70 game if it is a good plot story and longer game play start with Bravo Team and end with Rebecca from Bravo stars Team and Chris and Jill and Barry and Brad from Alpha S.T.A.R.S TEAM have a ending with UMBRELLA talking about how WESKER has betrayed them and William BIRKIN taking things in to his own hands and Annette BIRKIN seeing to Sherry
I wouldn’t mind it, especially considering most players aren’t going to go back and play the last remake of it and it is an important entry. But, it’s also really short, so I don’t know how they’d do it. I’ve always said they should release RE1 ReRemake with a Code Veronica Remake as a package. I’d rather that than a reimagining. Otherwise they’ll need to charge less because it will be short even by RE standards. Half the length of the remake was the cumbersome movement and obscured camera. Make it like the recent remakes and people will tear through it.
Yes it needs a modern day remake Yes I know it has already been remade but I've tried plenty of times to like the game but the controls and camera really bother me. I also dislike the door opening animation every time I open a door. More power to the people who consider the game a masterpiece. I wish I could say the same.
I feel the same way, I enjoyed the remake but it does have its problems. An OTS third person remake would look really cool. Before we can get to that we need CV remade first to me it's the true sequel to RE2.
I don’t understand people who say this… When the game first came out nobody had issues with the camera angles or controls yet now modern gamers act like it’s completely impossible to play and that the original games are trash. Maybe you should stick to your easy games.
What I REALLY want to see is classic collection 1-3 in similar style as Aspyr did with Tomb Raider games !!! That being said I'd welcome complete remake 1 also😁
I prefer a Code Veronica remake more for two reasons: 1. Code Veronica is far more dated in terms of graphics. 2. The old graphics in RE 1 Remake gives the game a vintage terrifying horror vibe that's not replicated in any of the other games, I don't know if that can be replicated with new graphics(I would still play the remake though).
What still irritates me to this day is that most likely the reason we never got RE2 and RE3 in the style of RE1 2002 is that it was put on the GameCube and at the time not as many gamers owned. Needless to say, the sales were underwhelming and that's all on Capcom. A similar thing happened with Code Veronica being released on the Dreamcast that not only did less gamers own but the consoles' lifespan was very short lived. Also needless to say, the sales were not good because of this. Another reason why Capcom may be hesitant on remaking CVX is because of its sensitive content and would likely be challenging to rewrite it without removing the essence of CVX's story and characters.
Right now it’s bizarre that you can’t play the original mainline series in a consistent way. If they make RE1, then you can play 1-4 on RE Engine. From there they can continue that series in some kind of order
I would a chance to play a remake of re1 re0 and code veronica with a fresher dialogue, a retelling of wesker's story between him and chris and without tank controls just not a redesigned monsters like what they did in re3 remake (nemesis shouldn't have a nose)
What about the Story of ENRICO BRAVO S.T.A.R.S Captain ? How did he get to the Arkaley Mountains Research Facility without a scratch on him and how does he find out about UMBRELLA setting the S.T.A.R.S TEAMS up ? It needs a extra part of the story ?? 🤔
I don't think it needs a remake at all but we said the same thing with Resident Evil 4 and that turned out to be amazing, hopefully they don't pull a Resident Evil 3 Remake and just cut 60% from the original and add nothing.
No, it doesn't need another remake, but it sure is welcomed. And now we'll have both a remake with the classic formula and the new formula. I still want RE 2 and Nemesis to get the 2002 RE remake treatment.
@@blankprivatecompany9296 Nah.. not true. Plenty of people still love fixed camera. Also, RE1 connects to RE0, RE2, RE3, RECV, and RE4. A lot of RE games are connected in some way.
Yes! I am still completely satisfied with REmake 😌 I get the appeal of wanting to see the characters and the mansion in re engine models, but really the atmosphere captured in the painted bgs and the fixed camera angles is so excellent I don’t need an hd over the shoulder version

RE 5 made me check out and skipped RE6 until it was like 3 bucks on STEAM. But RE7 pulled me back in with a vengeance. So RE5 / RE6 needs the remake treatment, not RE1.
I quit saying “Why does X game need a remake” a long time ago. I used to say that whenever a remake was announced then I would completely change my mind after the first trailer.
Here’s my short take. My brother in law’s finance loves all the remake games but hasn’t played REmake or the OG games. I recommended REmake and she tried it. I asked how if she liked it and her response was all but confirming RE1 could use a remake for a younger modern audience. Personally just fixing the Canon ending would be all I ask for so long as they stick to the script of REmake when story boarding another remake. It’s a near perfect game as it is.
No it doesn't. Every remake has a lot of things worse than the originals, 2 removed the spiders, the nuance of irons character, the big differences between scenarios. 3 removed almost all the game. 4 removed things too. Like, i think the remakes are amazing because of the quality of life and modern features, but i play them mainly because the originals are really outdated (2 and 3) or because there was a big room for improvement (re4 was basically a shooter while re4 remake has more classic resident evil elements and its more like a proper resident evil game) now 1? 1 already has a PERFECT remake. I don't trust capcom to see that. So we'll probably end up with a modern resident evil game with some cut content, no spiders and no giant snake with wesker being cleary evil from the get go.
For Capcom a Re1 Remake makes financially more sense than a Code Veronica Remake. CV sold badly and it would be a more risky move. But everybody, even casuals, likes or knows the first Resident Evil. Plus the 30th anniversary is coming up in 2026, perfect reasons.
Why the hell do we need a remake of a game that got a remake and remastered version. Like bro we have other re titles that deserve a remake more, I feel like Capcom is losing ideas and don't know where they want to do with their games anymore cause it don't make sense

Wouldn't it be nice if capcom released a RE Classic Collection.
The RE1 Remake came out when I was in junior high lol feeling old now.
I have to agree with this, completely.
New player here and I'm letting you know this opinion is fucked. This game is genuinely bordering on unplayable to me.
Does it need one? No. Would I play one? Yup.
The problem with remaking 1 means a remake of 0 is necessary which pushes any chance of a Code Veronica remake to the 2030s
In no way RE0 is necessary. Yes, it is directly connected to RE1 but they could easily remake 1 without doing 0. in fact I think they will do exactly that. In my opinion RE Zero will be either the last mainline RE game to get a remake or it won't get at all.
Even back in gc 0 didnt even mattered so i dont see that as necessary
The story of RE0 can be retconned and summed up in a dlc for RE1.
I think that Zero could be a fun DLC for RE1. A 2-3 hour campaign with Rebecca before she arrived at the mansion.
@@CC-mp1wk I would also like that but knowing how many people hate it when remakes are not 1:1 copy of the old game, I think too many people will cry how many things got cut from the original 0. And if RE0 gets remade into a DLC for RE1R, parts of the game will definitely get cut.
In so few of words; no, no it does not.
To be honest no but I'd rather have another remake of Resident Evil 1 over Resident Evil 5.
Resident Evil 1 Remake is perfection. It embodies what the series is all about. Also has the best Jill. But at the same time, as a fan, I wouldn't mind seeing another remake. Or Code Veronica.
it's really not a perfection bruh

yup started playing RE around 2009/10 with 4 and 5 and it was incredible! didn't need a Wesker explantation
Another? Do I need to say it, Anthony? And the answer is no.
Need? No. Want? Yes.
No. But Capcom is desperate for remakes.
I would rather have a Code Veronica or a RE5 remake
RE Code Veronica Remake is a given though Dino Crisis is likely in development too
No we do not. The first remake is perfect. It just doesn't need one.
It does honestly, I love if the first game was like the grand finale remake of this series of remakes. Where it all began!
RE1 needs remade on the modern controls and especially in the modern graphics. RE1 needs to be next.
Then they don't need to play it
@Yeshua_is-Cool I guess if they have played the other remakes, they will want to know how the franchise started.
@@swilly_the_kid They can go play the first RE1 remake like the rest of us did, it’s absolutely playable.
@@swilly_the_kid
If anyone was truly interested in how the series started they would go ahead and play that GameCube remake, better yet they would start with the ps1 original trilogy
Re1 remake remake again would just be a generic watered down summary or reimagining of re1. Filled with cut content, changed story/characters, and dumbed down gameplay
I feel like they'll do it justice. Re4 remake did this right and stuck with things, unlike 3 remake. I think capcom learned their lessons with 3 remake.
Imagine if they merged RE0/RE1 into one game where the stories make sense.. and they release an add-on RE Outbreak like they did with Resistance.
Obviously.... The entire game needs to be "overhauld" it's a (REmake).
At this point. God-tier Capcom could remake yesterdays bowel movement and I would still throw money at it.
this is just the remake that i wanted them to do it makes the most sense as it rounds the new remakes off nicely then they can do code veronica leading into 5
Yes RE1 NEEDS a remake along with Code Veronica & RE5 to really complete the franchise!
17:07 She's been awake for a few days running on adrenaline and was pretty much alone until Chris came, give her a break.
After playing re2 remake I immediately said to myself code veronica and og remake in the modern engine would be my dreams games
Yes, definitely. It would look absolutely amazing in RE engine, plus it would complete the collection with 2, 3 & 4
Great think tank vid!
Yes RE1 needs another modern remake. Maybe even bundle it with a RE Zero remake. What better time than for its 30th anniversary.
Well if it gets a remake the only thing i could see them improving is rebecca's personality if resident evil 0 is canon.
Definitely needs a remake, the Spencer estate would be extra scary on this new version of the RE engine, imagine the different lighting and shadow effects with ray tracing rooms barely lit with a hunter lurking in the shadows. That shit would be epic.
I think they should remake RE2. It's my favorite game and they could add some insane lore into it
The Re1 Remake Remake is the same situation as with the Re4 Remake. Did we need it? Not necessarily. Was it fantastic and did we enjoy it? Oh yes!
Yes. I want this remake 100%
It works for SH2, but they should absolutely go back and retell his story.
more people know Wesker from DBD than from RE
@@Hubert_G I can't agree with that at all.

RE1 HD remaster how you do a good remaster / remake add to the game not remove chunks out of it and expect to be ass kissed
exactly... it was perfect both times... even the dual shock directors cut wit the horrible music was good...
It doesn’t need a new remake but why people complaining give me all the resident evil
@@TheKing8608_ great point but it's possible it will have both. I just wanted my opinion to not sound lukwarm
Yes it needs a modern day remake
Yes I know it has already been remade but I've tried plenty of times to like the game but the controls and camera really bother me.
I don’t understand people who say this…
When the game first came out nobody had issues with the camera angles or controls yet now modern gamers act like it’s completely impossible to play and that the original games are trash.
Maybe you should stick to your easy games.
Re3 is a proper remake I think they should remake zero
What I REALLY want to see is classic collection 1-3 in similar style as Aspyr did with Tomb Raider games !!! That being said I'd welcome complete remake 1 also😁
I prefer a Code Veronica remake more for two reasons:
1. Code Veronica is far more dated in terms of graphics.
2. The old graphics in RE 1 Remake gives the game a vintage terrifying horror vibe that's not replicated in any of the other games, I don't know if that can be replicated with new graphics(I would still play the remake though).
Another remake using the new RE engine would be incredible. Hope it happens.
Yes we need another re1 remake! I want to experience the crimson heads in over the shoulder camera angles .
Yes,it does.
I find it impossible to be anything but cynical at the thought of capcom re-re-making re1. Re2&3 remakes were so disappointing. Especially 3.
If RE4 got a remake then first remake with its archaic controls should be remaked
Rebecca can be in the cell with Chris and Barry can be in the same cell as Jill.
I'd rather Code Veronica get remade before 1 again, but either one of them is preferable over 5.

Does it desperately need it ? Probably not… Does it deserve it ? YES !!!! It would look and play amazing with the RE2 remake treatment.
Long answer: None of the original games needed remade.
Short answer: No.
Or better, they'll cut all new content from the first remake and say they wanted to introduce the audience to the original concept that debuted on PS1
If they were to do a 1 remake, I feel like 0 would be DLC . But what we want is a Code Veronica remake
I don't. CV bored me to tear.
For Capcom a Re1 Remake makes financially more sense than a Code Veronica Remake. CV sold badly and it would be a more risky move. But everybody, even casuals, likes or knows the first Resident Evil. Plus the 30th anniversary is coming up in 2026, perfect reasons.
I wouldn't mind a re-remake of 1, tbh, but I would prefer a remake of 5, it needs it more.
bruh what 💀
None of them need remakes, and 5 s fantastic the way it is. Enough already
Why the hell do we need a remake of a game that got a remake and remastered version. Like bro we have other re titles that deserve a remake more, I feel like Capcom is losing ideas and don't know where they want to do with their games anymore cause it don't make sense
then why tf do we need re4 remake?? re1r came out in 2002 and re4 came out in 2004
