Awsome video!!! My edc for the past 24years has been a charter arms undercover 38special that I inherited from my great grandfather and it was his back up duty weapon for almost 30 years before that!!😊😊 I am a fan of the 1911 for sure though! But for the most part i prefer to carry a revolver when im out and about😊 I do have a glock 23 for when i need that tool!!😊 But i still carry my 38special loaded with ÷p as a back up! 😊
As an owner of two Taurus .38 revolvers, I’d have to say the trigger on the 1911 is better. However, I love the reliability of revolvers and the nostalgia. If the .38 revolver was good enough for Jack Lord in Hawaii Five O, it’s good enough for me. 😃
Great vid as usual. I have a 'few' examples of each. It is not an easy question to answer. lbs pull is not everything. several of my revolvers have right around 2lb pulls in single action. None of my 1911s are that light. Two dirty secrets are... with revolvers the trigger gets better with age. meaning actually ... wear. a trigger job is nothing more than introducing wear to the many parts involved or 'polishing' using the gun polishes the same parts (mostly) the other dirty little secret is if you lighten the trigger pull by reducing spring pressure you will get misfires. I use federal primers on all my revolvers except the Colt SAA and clones since they have a heavy hammer fall no matter what. With most of my revolvers I have to caution people to keep their finger of the trigger till you are ready to fire. There is no takeup on the triggers so well... with the 1911's there is a tiny bit of takeup so rarely do they fire accidentally. which is good... also... The 1911 does not depend on light springs for low trigger pressure (mostly) and the gun fires very reliably with the hardest or oldest primers. The leftover russian primers I have go in my 1911 loads. Another thing with revolvers is overtravel. really not much but several of my revolvers have trigger stops. A good light trigger is essential to good accuracy. 4 lbs on a 1911 is perfectly fine.
@@TerryBenton Wow... I am honored that you would say such a thing! lol... Most things I learn? it is the hard way. dad said to me one time 'don't have to hit you in the head with a two by four more than half a dozen times for you to get the message" didn't wear helmets on Harleys... didn't wear seatbelts... didn't ask what that pill was until after I took it lol... Handloading... pretty much I can't tell anyone the best way but for sure I can tell em what is a waste of money to buy. I have had a long and interesting life and I am willing to bore anyone around with it.
If they were mine I'd probably no I'd definitely be using snap caps in the 2 Smith's!! But they aren't mine just an old mans opinion!!😂😂😂😂 Nice pieces!!!!👍
I've owned several 1911s over the last 40+ years. And while they all had very manageable triggers, IMHO, however, no handgun on the planet has a better SA trigger pull than a K, L, or N frame Smith revolver. I'm an old dinosaur who still shoots the occasional Bullseye match, and my .45 is a Smith 625-2 revolver. For me, beats the hell out of the 1911!

@m.loughlin1915 you are right. No semi auto will beat a good single action revolver trigger
