Yeah, some would say that the battery on this device couldn’t hold for mobile gamers. However, the target market for the Mini is very straightforward, how many mobile gamers would even consider purchasing this device to play. One notable point, seems like the iPhone 12 series all models have the yellowish screen issue, some of them even has a greenish screen issue when viewing dark scenes. (Be careful with this, many have reported similar things on forums)
@@VibezVideo Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find raw numbers for the bezel size but from what I understand, it is noticeable (even though it is a small change).
@@studiothree I think it depends on you hand size and preference on holding it one handed. I got the pro and am returning it for the mini because it's too heavy and hard to hold with one hand, though the holding gets better with their silicon case. If you absolutely love small phones and don't mind charging it more frequently than the 12, just go for the mini. I went from xs to 12 pro, 12 pro's battery (which is the same one for 12) is definitely more powerful than xs, very noticeable change, and I play phone game. It's a trade-off between size and battery life. I choose the size.
I have an iPhone 12 mini and I have to say it’s the best and most comfortable iPhone I’ve ever owned. It’s fast, the speakers are plenty loud, it still has the A14 Bionic chip, a beautiful OLED display, a great camera, and 5G. The battery of course isn’t the Pro Max battery but it doesn’t too shabby either, if you have the fast charger at home, a car charger, or even a portable charger you’ll be okay no matter what. It’s also equipped for wireless charging including the MagSafe chargers. Plus it feels so good in your hand. It’s perfect!
The Mini with the same camera as the 12/12pro in that small package is a WIN. I've the iPhone 12 and been making cinematic videos 4K HDR for the Channel and the quality is just so freaking good...
I don't mind the smaller battery if the camera is also a beast like that... plus as you said... small phones are rare nowadays.. This little one will be a best seller for sure

I've watched a lot of iPhone 12 mini's videos before and now after purchasing this phone (bad habit of post shopping to make sure I made the right decision) and this is one of the best. Your voice is calm and easy to listen to vs the other you tubers shouting at you and then stuffing commercials in the middle (hate that). I came from an iPhone 10X that I kept hanging on to because it still worked and there were no compelling reasons to buy a new iPhone. Well with my iPhone's battery capacity slowly diminishing, the new 5G, great camera with a new (to me) wide angle camera and the small size I took the plunge. I love it! At first I thought the size would be an issue especially typing on it but you adapt. I hold my 10X now and it seem huge. This thing fits in my pocket perfect too. Funny how after we started with the original iPhone being small and then all the clammer to have Apple make a big phone like all the Samsungs at the time, we're happy with small again. So far the phone has met all my battery needs but if the battery becomes an issue I'll get one of those battery cases. So for anyone who has made it to the bottom of the rant and you can't decide, just buy it as you'll be very happy with it.
most honest and intuitive review of the ip12's especially the mini.. he understands that for people who like ergonomics, convenience, pocketability there are drawbacks and battery is the most flexible component to adjust on... well done..
From the announcement, I've eyed the Mini. Over the last 2-3 years, I've wanted a smaller phone again, this fits what I want. I can live with the battery life hit, right now I'm WFH so it doesn't matter. All the cars have chargers, work I can charge (when I return in person). Everything about this phone is *chef's kiss*.
just received my preorders delivery date. its basically everything i whished for. Since the iPhone 6 i always said: why do they have to make the phones bigger all the time, i would like it to be a bit smaller but fullscreen. i used to upgrade every other year since the nokia 3210 but stopped with the iphone 7 cause the X, Xs, 11 Pro etc. have just been way too tall
i have the 7 and it is 3 years old. battery drains so fast when i check email or browse. i really want the mini because i prefer the smaller iPhone over the incredibly large 11 or 12. thanks for the terrific review.

Brother, I'm a little tipsy right now, but put that aside. I've watched hundreds of iphone comparison videos and review videos. Yours is by far, and not even close, the best. You don't hang up on little details, don't give side stories.. you keep it simple. I respect that shit out of that. I've only subscribed to a select few people over the years, and you're not one of my select few. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, and keep doing what you do. If you're taking suggestions, I'm looking into either buying the 11 pro or the 12 mini, so if you watned to do a video on that, that'd be lit. I’ve just bought a mini, things to note: Battery isn’t as bad as everyone says. It’s bloody small. It’s super light and grippy. It’s very strong, weirdly. It’s a fingerprint magnet. The keyboard is small and you’ll have to get used to it if you had a bigger phone previously. Cameras are the best I’ve seen bar the pixel 5.
@@AcidicDelusion if it’s in your pocket at work yes. If you’re using it at work maybe. if you’re gaming definitely not. I charge it at the end of the day at 11%.
i have had my iphone 7 for more than two years at this point and i’m really lost between the regular 12 and the 12 mini but my older sis is literally scaring me by telling that “oh- battery this and battery that..” making me more worried about my decision but overall, cool review man! keep on being cool :).
I feel like Apple will sell a lot of these; though with the recent release of the SE and so many hold over users that held onto their 6/7/8 for longer due to the X price hike finally upgrading with the cheaper 11 last year, I'm thinking the 13 mini will probably sell a bit better. I also think this device may be one of the primary reasons they held off on upgrading the 12 lineup to 120hz displays. $699 would've been neigh impossible with such a display and the compartmentalization hurdles you mentioned driving up design costs for this particular model. Supply chains offering a 120hz panel at 5.4" would have also been difficult to source and the 1080p resolution (at least at this size and subsequent pixel density) would've made it a very expensive component if they even could source a 120hz variant of the panel. All in all though, it's good to see Apple setting the tone for small form factor phones to make a come back. Aside from Google and (though arguably with the S20 being only barely considered compact by my standards) Samsung, no other companies make small phones anymore. Maybe manufacturers have studies to support the idea that women don't like small devices and don't care about having to do hand gymnastics to use something larger but, as someone with smaller hands (for a male at least) I'm basically set to only consider the smallest S phone and the Pixel each time I upgrade because I prefer ergonomics over a massive screen (and maybe a slightly more enduring battery/an extra camera lens). Samsung and their foldable devices are out of my price range currently but they, especially the Z flip, seem quite well designed for the female audience. It isn't even just a hand size things either, as I have a couple pairs of yoga pants with smaller pockets and most phones would be on the ground, cracked and battered if I tried to fit them into those pockets. Most women's apparel is like this and the current device space, especially on the Android side of things, makes me wonder how many women would opt for a small phone and leave their purse/bag at home in more circumstances if more manufactures produced flagship level compact designs. I mean, some of the best selling devices of all time were below the 5" mark, albeit at a 16:9 aspect ratio (which makes the device wider, though this is negligible for most at these screen sizes from an ergonomics perspective). In a few years, or whenever Samsung manages to being the Z flip line below the $1k threshold and into direct competition with other flagship devices, I think this sort of phone will sell quite well. Sure, foldable have their own durability concerns but the Z flip/Razr clamshell design is quite a bit less prone to drops or pocket mishaps for those with small pockets/hands than competing flagships, almost all of which are 75mm-85mm wide (which is made even more cumbersome and unwieldy with the addition of a case) with 6.5"+ screen sizes. Time will tell, I guess.
@@princez.2648 At the time I said that the comment Donald made didnt age well since apple stopped production of the 12 mini 8 months after it was released. Mainly because the price kinda felt too high it should have been 599 not 699. Also it just didnt line up with most people's upgrade cycle so alot of people didnt see the need when they just bought the 11 or XR a year or two ago. But, yeah I totally agree with you I think this year the 13 mini and 12 mini will sell wayyyy better.
The original iPhone SE was my favorite phone up until I got the 12 Mini. This new phone is hands down, without a doubt, my favorite iPhone yet. I have larger hands and can once again finally use an iPhone easily with one hand. The 12 Mini is just a perfect iPhone in my opinion. I'm a light user and don't have any battery issues whatsoever.

Of about 10 review videos in my suggestions, I choose to watch this first

Apple: Bezels and notches are now smaller on our new iPhone 12s
Also Apple: **reduces 0.20 mm**
Me: 👁👄👁
This is a dumb joke. 0.2 mm reduced from the already (relatively) small size of the bezel makes sense and is actually noticeable.
@@daisykumar4832 nice joke " relatively small "
@Andrew K thanks. i can never be more sarcastic
@@VibezVideo Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find raw numbers for the bezel size but from what I understand, it is noticeable (even though it is a small change).

Love the short and sweet review. Came here for just one thing (to find out how good the battery life is) and you delivered 👍🏼
What are your thoughts? I’m torn between the regular 12 and the mini!

Only difference that's really substantial is the LiDAR scanner, that would have been nice even if the Mini had 2 cams.

From the announcement, I've eyed the Mini. Over the last 2-3 years, I've wanted a smaller phone again, this fits what I want. I can live with the battery life hit, right now I'm WFH so it doesn't matter. All the cars have chargers, work I can charge (when I return in person). Everything about this phone is *chef's kiss*.

its basically everything i whished for.

You're the shit bro, keep up the good work.

I’ve just bought a mini, things to note:
Battery isn’t as bad as everyone says.
It’s bloody small.
It’s super light and grippy.
It’s very strong, weirdly.
It’s a fingerprint magnet.
The keyboard is small and you’ll have to get used to it if you had a bigger phone previously.
Cameras are the best I’ve seen bar the pixel 5.
did you buy it in black?
Will the battery get you thru a normal days usage ?

*Hopefully this means we will see smaller Android flagship phones.*
Great video man. & loved the sweater too
i have had my iphone 7 for more than two years at this point and i’m really lost between the regular 12 and the 12 mini but my older sis is literally scaring me by telling that “oh- battery this and battery that..” making me more worried about my decision but overall, cool review man! keep on being cool :).
This didn’t age well
@@kgb3209 they did release a 13 mini at least. I feel like it may have a lot to do with price too, SEs sell like hot cakes lol.
Wow this review is nice, I never knew this many facts about the 12 mini. It seems surprisingly good for it's size. Good job Dave and good job Apple.
