another memorable villain role for Gary Oldman; back in the 90s I swore that he was just born to play the bad guy, but like people say he’s a chameleon; shouldn’t complain after the fact, but think it took way too long for him to finally get his Oscar

I tell you what, the mid-90s were the heyday of action movies. Jurassic Park, Independence Day, Twister, The Rock, Con Air, Die Hard 3, I know I'm leaving out plenty. Tons of movies that you can just sit down and enjoy whenever they come on.

I would add Speed (1994) and Ransom (1996) to that list -- plus The Fugitive (1993), Face/Off (1997), Men in Black (1997), and Starship Troopers (1997) if '93 and '97 also count as mid-'90s!

    • @x_trio_3_po333

Let's give Addie a round of applause for surviving Air Force One (1997). 👏👏 This is now one of my all-time favorite Harrison Ford movies alongside the Indiana Jones movies that he was in. I totally agree with you that he was awesome as President James Marshall, especially when he tells Ivan Korshunov "Get off my plane!". I even own the movie on DVD as a double-sided disc containing the 2.39:1 Widescreen version on Side A and the 4:3 Full Screen version on Side B. Labyrinth (1986) will definitely be something light-hearted for you after being stressed out by this movie. BTW, this movie is also on Disney+ outside North America (US & Canada).

After I drove them home shortly after midnight, my sister's water broke. In a time before cell phones (at least for us), she was unable to call me back. She called our brother to take her to the hospital.

Takedown (1989). In Heat (1995). In Shanghai Noon (2000). In the 2010 TV series, The Walking Dead. In the 2001 TV series, "24" he had another violent death, albeit an heroic one.

Harrison Ford plays an awesome Jack Ryan in Patriot Games and in Clear and Present Danger. Definitely watch The Fugitive.

I agree with everyone else recommending The Fugitive! Probably Harrison Ford's best movie.

I would say, other Harrison Ford action movies include his Jack Ryan series - Patriot Games, and Clear and Present Danger

I'd love to see a parody of this movie made in the same style as Airplane! (1980)

Well, now you have to watch "Executive Decision" starring Kurt Russell, Halle Berry, John Leguizamo, and Steven Segal in one of his most popular movie appearances.

I’m glad you enjoyed it Addie. I had a feeling you would. It was very suspensefull, yes, but it was fun too. It’s my favorite Harrison Ford movie that’s not Star Wars or Indiana Jones. Would you consider it “Die Hard on a plane” like I did?

I love Glenn Close (the Vice President) and Dean Stockwell (Defense Secretary)! And the always reliable Glen Morshower!
No…the “emergency escape pod” isn’t a real thing.
That F-15 pilot putting his plane in the missle’s path still looks spectacular after all of these years.

Obama was asked about it, He confirmed there is no escape pod on air force one then said "But it's not a bad idea 🤔" who knows they may have secretly installed one since 🤷‍♂️

I would also recommend Executive Decision. It's not a great film, but the cast is cool. One of those "what am I going to do today?" movies.

This movie was the closest we will ever get to a President Jack Ryan movie.

For another Harrison Ford movie that's a departure from the typical Harrison Ford movie you should check out Regarding Henry.

Once the plane hits the runway, the speed break deploys and the spoilers and the plane is going to slow drastically.... It also doesn't really handle like that on the ground.

If you like Harrison Ford’s action films, he’s got some good Jack Ryan films based on books written by Tom Clancy films, he’s a CIA operative. Titles: Clear and Present Danger, and Patriot Games.
