      Jesus didn't come for saints but sinners. The churches are full of sinners. Your sin can be hypocrisy, another man sin could be something else. Among all churches you will find people who are lukewarm, those in a process of being saved and those of backsliding and losing their salvation. How is your faith growing now that you are on your own?

    The real problem here is that we dont learn to believe and act on the power of forgiving ourselves for the sins we committed or may commit. I was quick to forgive others but I realize i wasnt forgiving myself of my own sins which led to a war in my mind of guilt and unworthiness. The devils drills this area hard. But once you forgive yourself and believe it, the devil has no room to bring you into condemnation.

God doesnt give answers to the questions to the stuff we have questions about and as Christians, we hear " God wont give you more than u can bear" but that's clearly not true. If you are a pastor and feel the pressure to be perfect and you feel like s"$# on the inside, just step down and take care of yourself. Forgetting trying to save face. Care for yourself. It's a hopeless situations and feelings that you can't do by your own. We need medical assistance if we experience such condition. Psychiatrist and Psychologist are the people that can truly understand what is happening inside our brains. It's a long time process of healing. Everyone is vulnerable in experiencing such condition. I really thank God how I totally recover form that kind of experience. With the help of some doctors by giving medicines, I was able to recover and improve my condition and of course the GREATEST HEALER is JESUS! Don't judge people who are in that kind of condition, they need understanding, accpetance, respect and more importantly love and prayers. Isn't it true that God is the God of the living? How can one kill himself while wanting to be a living child of God? It is not right to judge, but it is right to turn away from suicidal thoughts. And this is a good opportunity to talk about this. If one falls it is better for the other 99 to turn away from that cliff. Run away from that cliff! Better to ask God to take you back to Him and be willing to follow Jesus till the time arrives and God answers your request. I also had suicidal thoughts, but I asked Jesus' help, fasted for three days while I was insisting Jesus to help me with my porn addiction. Shortly after I found myself free, everything was gone. No addiction, no suicidal thoughts anymore. Maybe this short testimony helps others see life from a different angle. It is worth it to run to Jesus. It is worth it to cry out to God to help you. Let Him the decision to keep you in His harvest or not, and not be yours to leave.

I’m really sorry and sad FoR what pastor Jarrid did, with this things a lot of chiristian and unbelivers are confused Now. God knows his pain, indeed. @EzraJalin 5 лет назад +2

      @@Alexa4ev3r to some people, depression can't be cured, neither healed. Like King David, psychologically, he was depressed for his whole life. He died in despair and he wrote Psalms with the notion of poverty. In this case, it becomes a limp. Everyone walks their life with a limp, and limps exist for us to make use of the God-given strength in us. As what Paul heard from the Lord, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made PERFECT IN YOUR WEAKNESSES".
      In my opinion, Jarrid's death show us the strength that God had given to him in his struggles. Take a look now, people are talking about the stigma of mental health and how important it is for us, Christians, to take it seriously and not just something to be carried in a Pentecostal healing rally or just a one-time advice to move on. Recovery takes process and recovery is a step to healing.

    • @Alexa4ev3r
      @Alexa4ev3r 5 лет назад

      Ezra Jalin, I agree with your opinion. But let’s think about the apostles, did they had some ‘special’ treatment for this mental health that we are all confronting? Only the SCRIPTURES. From there is the POWER. But I repeat, I understand your opinion and I agree with it. We should have a serious action in this directions, like doing all we can to support constantly the Christians who haves depression and other problems. I had a hard time last year and this year, I can tell you I had a lot of support from family and close friends, but the only one who was there for me when no one could was Jesus. And he delivered me from depression, anxiety and a lot of fear... the devil wanted to destroy my mental health and I was feeling like nothing and was thinking sometimes: why I need to live? I don’t see any hope for me... that’s why I RUN to Him and he really was my STONE and REFUGE! I don’t judge pastor for what he did... I just want all to know that Jesus NEVER LEAVES US!

    • @EzraJalin
      @EzraJalin 5 лет назад

      @@Alexa4ev3r I disagree with the part you mentioned about the Apostles having special treatment. Historical accounts prove that the apostles weren't alone in their journey. No, I'm not just talking about God's faithfulness but I'm talking about the community that they had. The Greek words "koinonia (fellowship)" and "ekklesia (assembly/Church) speak volume to their journey. For instance, Paul had Silas and Timothy. Peter would have his own commune. Likewise, John of Patmos. Else, they wouldn't write letters. For more, you can read accounts from Jerome and Tertullian about the Apostles and the Church Fathers. The truth is, it's very subjective to say that the Scripture gives healing. It doesn't apply to every Christians. In fact, Scriptures are to be read under guidance. Even atheists know that. Jarrid understood hope, and he was hopeful until his last breath. He knew the Scripture, he was devoted and yet, depression took a toll on him. Like I said, King David experienced God and was after God's heart the whole time and yet lived a life of depression. On the other hand, I'm glad that you're healed through the meditation of the Scripture but let me emphasize this: It's very subjective. Just because it applies to you doesn't mean it applies to everyone. Else, famous preachers and theologians would've been bettering emotionally and mentally. Unfortunately, they weren't and that is okay. Truth be told, we seek perfection in these people but we forgot that humanity can't be redeem without brokenness. We are all limping in our walk no matter how far God has redeem us. The Good News is, the work of resurrection is still ongoing.

We have NO IDEA what happened that day, what the trigger was, whether it was impulsive or planned. What we know is that he loved the Lord and is safe with Him. Doesn't make it right. Doesn't mean his family isn't experiencing unspeakable suffering. But every man born from Adam has a sinful nature and is vulnerable. It is only by God's GRACE that we enter heaven. There is such a thing as 'strongholds'. Satan attacks by whispering things, planting seeds, chipping away at faith, causing confusion. Evil is real and it is extremely dark and vile. Some of our brothers and sisters in Christ are suffering. They are targets. The enemy knows their weaknesses. He is wicked in his scheming. He wont stop until he wipes us out. I've experienced it myself. It's not because Jarrid didn't believe or didn't have enough faith. He might have been under the delusion that the darkness would never go away. For some people it doesn't go away. The deliverance takes time. Things are not black and white. Jesus can heal but he needs us to walk it out with him. We have to have compassion on those ones that are too weak to go on. You don't know how satan has exhausted their minds.

    These comments are heartbreaking to read. How cold and callous Christians seem to be when it comes to depression and suicide. Is that what God has called the church to do? to judge people with different struggles than their own? How could you possibly be so bold as to assume you know the depths of pain others with depression are forced to endure?
    Your ignorant comments are not only disrespectful to Jarrid and his family, but they completely destroy your witness for people who also struggle with depression and suicidal thoughts. If someone is struggling with similar issues, why would they try to find refuge in a God or church who only judges rather than shows love and grace and understanding? Your ignorant comments are painful and cause way more harm than any good you think will come from it.
    If you are struggling with depression and suicide, please know that the ignorant comments of some Christians are not a reflection of Jesus, who, more than anyone else ever could, understands your pain and struggles and welcomes you with open arms always. You are not selfish or a bad person for struggling in the way that you do. And you aren't less faithful or less of a Christian for it either. God promises that He will restore us all in heaven, not necessarily on this earth. Healing will come. I find peace in knowing healing has come to Jarrid who can rest in Jesus' peace and love forever now.

      Only the suicide of Samson makes some controversy.
      Samson was before Jesus so that makes things different, sort of.
      However do you really want to be compared to the suicides of the bible like Judas, Saul or Jezebel??
      I honestly do not know either but I do know that most of us are in continual sin and that is what needs to be corrected.
      Jesus would forgive everyone he came into contact with but he commanded that they go and sin no more.
      It is clear that you are either a good tree bearing good fruit or a bad tree bearing bad or no fruit and it is clear Jesus didn't like the bad trees.
      He cursed one of them and it withered away immediately according to the story.
      I believe that I am currently a Bad Tree and need serious surgery from God/Jesus to get rid of the corruption/corrosion.
      If I can't get this renewal... I am not going to make it.

But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler-not even to eat with such a one. @@EzraJalin my brother or sister. I would first ask if you have read the bible, why? Because Gods word has all the solutions to our depression and anxiety or whatever the enemy tells us. Jesus is enough to heal any kind of sickness. Just imagine in the new testament the many people Jesus heald, they didn't doubt for a second that God had the full power to have the cripple walk, the blind see. Now think about the old testament, look at Daniels story, at his time, the king made a rule that said whoever prayed to any gods was going to be thrown to the "hungry lions" imagine that, Daniel knew that if he continue to pray to our God he was going to end with the lion, in which he did go in, but Daniel completely believe in "God's power" he didn't doubt that God was going to deliver him, in which God did. That being said, know that I am not shaming pastor jarrid, it hurts me to see this. God bless you.

    • @EzraJalin
      @EzraJalin 5 лет назад

      @@gabrielamelendez2013 it's about self-care and the journey to recovery. Yes, I agree the Word has solutions to everything but it requires a heck lot of discernment, a space and a time, of which, by reality, if you live in a busy city (think of NYC, Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur) and live an extremely busy life, a 10-minute quiet time with God doesn't seem to apply well for the next 23 hours and 50 minutes to really dive deeper. No wounds are treated instantly, even with medication. It takes a lot more than just the pills or the appointment to hospitals. I'm talking on the reality and the root cause is much deeper than just not reading enough of the Word. Which is why I'm glad the traditional churches would have the initiatives to expound the scripture beyond the ecclesiastical mechanism, which allows modern Christians to explore more of their faith and to reflect upon their journey with God. The Catholics, for instance, created platforms such as the Examen and spirituality sessions to discover more into the Word. The Anglicans have a Common Book of Prayer and some Anglican churches have prayer labyrinths in the sanctuary. Why? Because they uphold the sanctity of life in the manner of Christ who walked the earth. Jesus, the Word, did not stay in Heaven but He came down to meet even the lowest of the low. The Word is for all but if the Word seems absent even when reading it, it's because we miss the fact that the Word is still walking amongst us. This is where practices of spirituality matters. This is where the reflection of consciousness matters. Reading the Word alone can be done even by any stubborn atheists and agnostics like Michael Shermer, Peter Atkins, Bart Ehrman, Daniel Dennett and Richard Dawkins. Even the late Christopher Hitchens read the Bible and able to expound it better than many ordinary devout Christians, yet he was an anti-theist. It's about the meditation of the Word and diving deeper into the journey and to understand that the Presence is everywhere. It's about finding God in all things and not just when the Bible is present in front of us. It's about speaking hope into each other to destroy the voices of suicide within those with the bouts. It's about having the love and empathy to care and to cherish people irregardless. These make Christians distinctive.
