Incredible performance ! The intro and piano rythm and MacMahon energy ! Interesting to notice that Napoleon Crossing The Rhine is also the same as Hot Ashphalt !
I don't know about that other tune, but yeah BCTR is a very different tune in my world... this is a fine tune and I think I have heard it before, the name u cite doesn't ring a bell for me, great tune name tho

I know this song as Forty Miles a Day on Beans & Hay.
And Bonaparte Crossing the Rhine is a completely different tune in my repertoire. Interesting!

@@nobanjonoyes because it's used in so many different songs like "the hot asphalt", "mick Maguire" and others that i can't remember the name of
John Keogh of Full Circle - the Baggot Inn and the Purty Loft Dun Laoghaire!
how have i missed this, fantastic

Hot Asphalt . .
Sounds like the Dubs and The Hot Ashphalt.
Sounds like "will ya get up ourra dat, ya ignorant brat an' let Mr. Maguire sit down."
My thoughts exactly!
Hot Asphalt is an old music hall song to the same tune. Kinda like Andy M. Stewart's Take Her in Your Arms is the same tune as the Otter's Holt.
cool -- but i think bonaparte is crossing the Rockies here, not the Rhine ( a different tune)
This is Napoleon crossing the Rhine not Bonaparte. Bonaparte is another tune
Tony playing with Jerry Lee Lewis!
..yeh, but where were the dancers ...to make use of it great playing .. ..its a set dance .. ...not a " trance set " ..
There is an otherwise-completely-unrelated tune that's known by this name .....
