Tony is the sweetest "box" player I've ever heard. A towering traditional legend.
A towering traditional legend is the best description we've heard for Tony MacMahon. Thanks for commenting. Go raibh maith agat
Buiochas ! A very kind reply. And thanks for sharing.
One of the true greats of Irish traditional music, Tony McMahon was a master of the accordian. Every note he played came from the heart, there was such honesty in his music and he played with such intensity. A groundbreaking broadcaster his "Green Linnet" TV programme I will always fondly remember and his album with Noel Hill "I gCnoc Na Grai" remains one of the finest traditional albums ever released. Real soul music. Thanks for all the great music and memories Tony, may you Rest in Peace.
A great broadcaster who had the music at his heart. He obviously loved every minute of it.
