    One of the most accurate rifles still available today especially in 6.5 PRC! If you reload you can literally cut consistent .5 MOA and its simply an incredible weapon. Appreciate your video.

    Similar setup I had in mind, thank you for sharing your content! Leupold VX-5 scope with thunderbeast suppressor is what I really want on my Tikka T3X

    It’s just a barrel harmonics we had the same issue with a bartlein 3B. Huge POI shift between cans with a hellfire mounting system. Same for my proof i zerod with my hybrid and haven’t touched it for that reason.

    I read something about a shift after the first shot due to a change in the gases in the suppressor. Sounded plausible to me.

    Hi there, I'm thinking about getting about the Leupold 5HD scope like yours. Do you have the Illuminated Firedot Duplex version? If you have to redo over, would you choose any other scope for lighter weight than the 5HD? By the way, thank you for the article of your build and which had guide me for my Tikka upgrade. Thanks again.

      I have the Windplex reticle in my VX-5. I wish it had illumination. That said, I also wish the Firedot Duplex had hash marks for wind holds. Unfortunately the "perfect for me" reticle doesn't exist in the VX-5 lineup. I do love the VX-5 and there isn't a scope that I would chose over it to save weight. Comparable scopes that own and have used are the Vortex LHT and the Zeiss V4. All are pretty similar in price, weight, and specs. All are good and have their own pros/cons.

    Mark i forgot to ask, what was the weight? Currently assembling something extremely similar in a 6CM finished at 22" with a carbonsix prefit in the Mesa precision stock with LRI's new tikka T3 bolt, and red snake tactical DBM. Scope is VX6HD 4-24x52 and probably running the omega on it.

    It’s hard to see on the video. Are you using the CB mount? If so how do you like it?

    • @MarkTheFark
      @MarkTheFark  3 года назад

      Yes, running the CB brake on several rifles and have the suppressor move among those. It has been a flawless system for me.

    Hey if you were to choose a tikka action or a custom action for a build which would you choose ? I already have a tikka and have a ag composite stock coming but want to possibly get a proof barrel

    • @MarkTheFark
      @MarkTheFark  4 года назад

      There are pros/cons both ways. If you already have a Tikka and an AG stock inletted for a Tikka action, I see no reason why you shouldn't just build upon what you have going. There are some advantages to customs, but I have no issues with my Tikka build in terms of accuracy, performance, reliability, etc.

    Hi mark great video. What is the bedding situation on the stock? Is it a drop in fit on an alloy bedding block or had it been custom glass bed? Did you use the original recoil lug? I am wanting a new stock for my tikka 7mm rem mag and see there are a few options in nz. Do the drop in fit stocks really work or do all stocks benefit from proper bedding? PS loving my exo k3 4800. Cheers, callum

    • @MarkTheFark
      @MarkTheFark  3 года назад

      Hey Callum. No bedding work at all - just dropped it in. These stocks are CNC inletted, so they should provide great fit and performance without any extra work.

    Thanks for sharing Mark, a few questions, what is your barrel length and do you feel hunting with a 7in suppressor to be cumbersome in the back country? Also do you know you total rifle weight with scope and suppressor?

    • @soleadventure
      @soleadventure 4 года назад +2

      Good questions, David. The barrel is 24". Being a pre-fit, I had limited options on length. It is definitely lengthy with the suppressor and could be cumbersome if hunting in super thick country. In more open country it isn't bad. The total weight with scope and suppressor is right at 9lbs.
      I recently built a shorter and lighter 6.5 for other backpack hunts on deer-sized animals. This 30-06 will be primary for elk and other larger game.
      FYI, I'll be making another updated video pretty soon.

      I have a 24’’ barreled tikka T3x lite, barrel and bolt are fluted and I use it for deer hunting. I don’t find it heavy (I’m not sure the weight but probably similar to mark’s. The long barrel is annoying in brush though. I can’t back carry it unless I’m on a trail. The barrel just clips every twig and briar in the vicinity. I walk sub 2 miles to my stand so it’s not that bad in my particular situation, but I would be livid if it were any further. I would like something I can walk through open woods with on my back and leave my hands available for navigation. I’m currently in the market for a bull pup chassis to make the length more manageable.

      Nice! I've since done another build with one of their stocks in Black Carbon and I love it. I used Long Rifles Inc for the bolt-fluting. I think it was $35 - they had a quick turnaround and great communication.
