I got this exact rifle recently. I chose the Athlon HELOS BTR GEN2 2-12×42 scope as I'll be primarily hunting hog and deer. I'm still dialing my scope in, but getting .5 groups right now at 100yrds. I set my trigger down as low as it would go and getting about 2.5lb trigger pull. Definitely zero take up and crisp break. I've never had a trigger quite like this as I'm used to some take up, so that is a bit getting used to, but no complaints at all. I think you'd be hard pressed to find another rifle like this one or even better. I'll have this rifle for the rest of my life.
I have T3s in 338WM & 300WM, I love them, tiny little groups. I have a friend that just got a 6.5CM for his wife took 2 whitetails in Michigan this year, another Tikka that shoots very accurately.
Nailed it, this thing shoots amazing groups right from the factory! That’s awesome!
That is a great looking gun. I have a tikka t3x in 243. it's such a great caliber to shoot. Thanks for the video.
Good content, good audio level, great tips from the gunsmith. Subscribed!
Thanks so much!
Sweet new model! I ran a T3X Stainless from 2015-2020, love the new color scheme!
Keep up the great content Jeff, as a gear junkie I love product reviews!👍🏻
Thanks man! Haha they might be my favorite videos to make! Us gear junkies may have a problem 😂
@@PNWild Tikka have this in 26 or 28 Nosler? 280 Ackley would be sweet too but that won’t happen I’m sure. Love that round too!
That sure is a beautiful rifle there. Some great features. We know it's going to be a tack driver too. Thanks for sharing..
It sure is! Keep an eye out this fall for it!
I like how good these stock triggers are so you don't have to spend the money on an aftermarket one!
That looks really nice!
The clicks and pops sound so nice, too.
👌🏼👌🏼
I got a t3x light veil wideland last year in 6.5 creedmoor and damn I love that gun, I agree with the gun smith. the trigger is phenomenal for a gun right out of the box. cool new colour pattern too.
Great rifles man! Glad you like yours!
@@PNWild objectively great guns! I wish you a lot of success with yours!
Is the veil wideland barrel and receiver stainless steel under the cerakote??
@@Faddah_hoks I dont think so, but I dont know for sure
@@Faddah_hoks yes sir it is
Nice rifle ! I’m going to take a look at one for myself. Love and agree with everything you’ve done in this vid. Personally I’d go ahead and do a bedding job on that barrel lug for myself.
Thanks for the feedback man! Appreciate you watching!
Very nice looking rifle!!!
It’s beautiful!
I've had better results with scope mounting by cross torquing the clamshells to the mounts. Helps to even stress a little better. Just a tip from an old timer.
Had to watch this video again because you did so well on the presentation and that rifle is a honey.
Love Tikka got a superlite in 6.5 3 years ago with the cammo stock the cabelas special. Out of the box trigger is light and breaks like glass honestly
Me too! Crazy story, they have such great customer service at Bass Pro that after about a half hour price matching the black with the camo we both agreed it was just lipstick on a pig and she honored the price match. Saved $150 which did seem excessive for a camo job. Seems this is one of the last industries that works with people who have integrity and use discression. America is still around, just need to know where to look.
@@gaslampnation735 exactly there’s still people who are making and selling quality products at good prices anyone can afford
Tikka is perfect rifle, thanks.
Amen!
Lovely pall that what I’ll get next my oid T3 15 year old has serves me super well but I finck I’ll upgrade soon and I’ll we’ll get One of them love the modification in the bolt as standard
It’s a fantastic rifle!
Can't wait for them to start hitting the shelves.. been waiting for this sweet looking thing!
It’s worth the wait!
@@PNWild any idea when they will be available for purchase?
@@masondavis1231 I’m not sure we’ll circle back when we hear an exact date!
These Tikka embers are like trying to actually find and capture the LOCHNESS MONSTER!!! Good luck on your hunt!!
@@terryhenry8243 I've yet to find one anywhere.
Great hands on application of scope, breaks and trigger……. Nine rifle
You bet
I think I’m going to pick one of these up this spring if I can find one
Let’s hope they’re available stateside
Sweet new rifle!
It’s a dandy!
Wow amazing 😮
Thank you for posting this. Because of this video I finally made up my mind what rifle to get. Will be making a down payment on it beginning of next month. Getting it in 30-06.
Awesome man! Enjoy it! Great choice!
@@PNWild Watched this video at least five times. Getting ammo until I order next month. I hunt in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Average range of encounters are 30 yards. Some phases aren’t as thick and open up to 300 yards. Had been looking at the traditional T3X lite but wasn’t quite sold on it. But when I saw this model: sold! I try to buy guns that are durable and beautiful.
Nice gun, I prefer to run rings with bubble level and make sure reticle and bubble are true I don’t care what relation scope cap to action has if that makes sense especially for LR.
Great input thank you!
That’s a beauty. That will be my next rifle.
Thank you 😊
You’re welcome
Really like the information thanks ....
Thanks for the feedback
Finally a vid on a rifle that was designed for hunting, not killing people. How refreshing!!! Thank you very much.
You bet!
Sounds like a liberal snowflake ❄️!
That rifle would be well complemented by a Mesa Precision Altitude stock. They are absolutely amazing!! I love my Tikka rifles, one of the finest right out of the box!!
We’ll look into those!
@@PNWild they are hands down one of the best stocks I’ve put my hands on! I have one on my long range gun and couldn’t be happier. Going to throw one on the Tikka compact lol his year as well!
Side note, sorry to hear about the removal of spring bear. That’s a load of BS if ya ask me. Maybe it’ll work out that you guys can hunt another state for spring bears if WA doesn’t pull their head out.
That's a very sweet rifle I need one of these
You’ll absolutely love it!
Outstanding video. Subscribed.
Thank you!
Good luck finding any Tikka.
You can still find some!
I like it. I was really fixed on the super varmint, but the weight. The only thing I'd change is the compensator. That one looks really loud
it indeed is loud!
Bad ass rifle 🤘
I went for the Veil Alpine, same gun but ceracoted
No group shots and did I miss the price looks like a nice rifle. I am just a hunter not a long range shooter, I generally sight all gun's to shoot a inch an half high at 100yards that usually is meat in freezer for any place I hunt. I have made a couple of shots at and over 200 yards but that was with my muzzleloader
I'm a year late to this video but i just ordered this rifle in .308 and going to be getting it ready for deer hunting in the fall! excited to see which ammo shoots best.
The cover you guys used is insane! looks wicked awesome.
Thank you!
For a much better and lighter trigger pull, I used a M carbo trigger spring. I highly recommend it!!!! I was able to adjust it down to 2 lbs with the trigger screw threaded in a lot. Best part is it was only $12. Huge upgrade for a tikka.
Just wondering why you don't mount the scope without a rail? Is it spacing? The rail just adds one more step and one more thing to loosen.
Have a vx 6 hd to through on one of these bad boys, have any recommendations for rings to match the scope. The caliber is .300win mag
Looks a lot like the SAKO Roughtech Pro, with a few cosmetic changes. I love mine.
Awesome rifles man no doubt!
Beautiful rifle I am a big fan of Tika rifles
Us too!! They are great rifles.
@@PNWild Too bad it does not come in 204 That specific model
Have you ever tried the purple loctite,it holds very well and is much easier to get loose
I need to stop watching your guys videos. Just ordered myself a Lyman trigger pull gauge😂 great looking rifle jeff! Hunt on boyz👍🏻
Hahaha that thing is wicked! And a handy tool to have for sure! Thanks Scott!
The "orangey" color to me could be described as looking like .... embers - a glowing but subdued warm/hot orange.. I'm guessing that's where they were going with it.
Absolutely nailed it
New Subscriber! I watched your video you guys did on the veil too. If you had to choose one which would you prefer for Pacific Northwest hunting? Is there any differences other than the rough tech have a rough stock and the veil being cerakoted?
Thanks, Nick
What is the measurement of the barrel diameter right before the muzzle threading? I heard in the video that the profile is a little bigger. Could you tell us how much bigger? Thank you!
I have the same but not ember in 300 WM so the barrell was blued instead with a Game Reaper mount and Leopold VX5HD. Currently having most of it cerakoted because everything I touch rusts so it rusted all down the barrel, action, and break the first hunting trip. Have it shooting .2 MOA with 180 gr. Barnes TTSX hand loads. Also helps with the Dead Air Nomad Ti to keep it lightweight. Love these guns
Amen to that man! They are fantastic rifles!
Man how long is that barrel with it? I want a tikka but wish it was a 22 inch at most.
It adds 7 inches with the can and mount but with it being titanium it weighs almost nothing
Had me at fluted bolt 😌 I just love them and with a fluted barrel that’s what I enjoy. I love my long range bolt action rifles that’s my jam.
They really are awesome!
@@PNWild I agree!! It just makes a rifle look that much better.
Is it a full free floating barrel???? I know the regular t3x superlite is not fully free floating
I have a t3x supervarmint which is brilliant. I had to wind the grub screw out and actually file the top down a little because it would hit the bolt that holds the triger group to the action. It seems the only difference is the fluted parts am I correct? And the stock on mine has an adjustable cheek though.
I love that rifle also! And an adjustable cheek would be amazing but your just adding weight at that point but I love that addition!
Is the super varmint available in the US? I've been trying to find one.
@@EbichanStudios I don’t believe so, they should be this year tho.
Such a nice rifle!
I’m going to be putting that same scope on my T3x hunter! What size scope rings did you use on this?
Just found you and subbed. I'm more of a long range shooter/reloader/now just competing with my frindes on steel out to 1700 yds and in. I run my Ruger preciesion 6.5 creedmoor as well as the 6.5 grendel. Thinning the herd on AKs and others that I just dont have time to shoot. I'm looking at adding on long range to the family and I've been leaning to the new CZ 600 model in 30 06 (just because I know the round and lots you can do with it...plus, cz fan). I've never owned a Tikka but do you build them in 30.06 or have you any experience with the CZ 600? Your advice and comments would be appreciated.
I set my scope at 200 yds.
Nice channel. Well done. I'm a fan of tipton as well
Thanks so much for the Sub!! Appreciate it a ton! Wow you have some nice sounding rifles! We plan on doing a few long range videos this summer!
Could you please make a Sako trg in 300 prc. I know you are Tikka but you can make it happen👍 I'd settle for tikka t3 varmint in 300 prc with a 26 inch barrel. Trgs are the bomb though. Still my favorite looking rifle ever
I’ll put in a good word for ya!
How does the lite with fluted barrel compare to a heavey tikka barrel ? How many consecutive rounds can you chuck through it ?
These fluted barrels heat up quick! They’re meant to save weight while carrying it out hunting. Definitely not a range gun. I had to let it cool for 10-15 minutes between 3 round groups.
Does this weapon have to be placed in the Fire Position in order to cycle the Bolt ?
Good video, but you made one big mistake!
You put a spirit level on the turret cap lol.
So you are relying on the scope.
You trued the rifle Okay, but should have use
a plumb line on the cross hairs, that way it is
correct and true.
I have a T3X Aspire, which has the fluted barrel,
fitted with a Tikka muzzle brake and a set trigger.
It comes with a raised comb for taller scopes.
But I fitted QD flush side sling mounts and a bipod
rail on the forend. I haven't bothered with a fluted
bolt as I feel it doesn't really need it!
Mind you, the Roughtech Ember is an old rifle now.
Very nice rifle. Since it is going to be a bench rifle I guess the brake is alright. Haha
😂
I have a question not many can answer. How much torque in the action screws? Mine had become loose on one of my rifles and I searched for quite some time and came to the consensus of some other amateurs that 45 in-lbs was as good number.
We read the tikka manual for the action screw torque, I can’t em ever off the top of my head but should be in manuals or even google. Sorry man! Thanks for watching!
Wish this barrel contour was more widely available across the range
Agreed
really hope this becomes available in 6.8 western.
We’ll find out soon!
My factory savage trigger is 8ozs 2.5lbs is a heavy trigger
Wow that’s light! I prefer around 2-2.5 personally
@@PNWild I target shoot with a 6.5x284 norma savage model 12 benchrest the trigger goes as low as 6oz
I’ve got an older lever action 30-30 that I need looked at. Do you guys work on older guns? Or maybe know someone that does? I’ve been looking to find someone local but, none of the shops around Seattle can help me. Awesome looking rifle. Glade you guys popped up in my suggestion feed. Liked and subbed.
I would for sure call kris, find his site at cantrelloutdoors.com give him a call and let him know what’s going on with that 30-30! Thanks fire watching and subbing!
она прекрасна!
Indeed!
what size mounts are those? Low, Med, high?
Just wondering, does the bolt shroud cover the back of the action so as to turn gas 90 degrees in the event of cartridge failure?
Could it be the Ember representing flames fire light on a dark (black) night? Good look at gun,,,love it and caliber,
Someone else said that same thing!! And I totally see it and agree! Appreciate the feedback man
Thanks for the video. I too am trying to find this rifle. I’m looking for the 223 rem. version. Any suggestions as to where to look?
best bet would be to use manufacturer site to find closest distributer as they have that feature in their page. What comes to the caliber you want it with, it doesn't exist at the moment, the model being from their cheaper end it might take some time to come back to markets or it might be that it won't be but in .308 anymore.
Then again you can check from them does the stock accept .223 tikka's.
Good looking rifle. I like the orange in the stock...looks like embers of a dwindling campfire. Just curious what the barrel length is on that rifle? I'm guessing 24" ?
It’s a very cool rifle, Tikka nailed it, and yessir it’s 24”
@@PNWild Thank you, I figured it was most likely 24".
@@PNWild how have they nailed it. It's the same gun with a different paint job. Lazy. Why not actually improve their product.
@@matthewkyle6939 I’m not sure how you could improve anything on that rifle.
@@mrjeffjob it would be insanely easy. A good stock would be an improvement, longer action for 300 prc, heavier barrel option. There are alot of ways the rifle could be improved.
How do you order one? I can’t find this model anywhere.
Great video. I just got this exact rifle. Why use a rail? Why not just put the rings directly on the gun?
Just screw the trigger adjusting screw out until it touches the screw that holds the trigger unit on!
Beautiful. Question though... is it the same exact stock as a regular Tikka T3x Lite and simply coated in a Roughtech finish, or is it a different stock altogether.
Great question and I’m not exactly sure.
Pretty sure it's the same. I went to the store to knock on them, and they sound identical.
just wondering where you purchased this rifle...been looking for quite some time for one
We work with tikka and got our hands on it a little early. Keep your eyes out
I’d like to see pictures of that stock up close.
Check our Instagram!
Roughtech makes some good stuff. One thing I'd like to see happen a little faster are manufacturers making shorter barrels for suppressors.
Good point!
Amen. I want a 7 mm rm with a suppressor
Sweet looking rifle! Why would you loctite the brake on though?! Just adding more cleaning work when you need to remove the brake for cleaning as well as crown cleaning.
That’s just what kris has done on his factory supplied brakes. I see some folks prefer rocksett, or nothing at all. It’s been just fine in the 5 rifles he’s done for us tho!
You only want the brake on hand tight no loctite
@@PNWild I mean I guess on a hunting rifle that you only shoot a few rounds a year it wouldn't matter too much. All the power to him if it's what he likes to do! I'm anal about cleaning though haha, even my hunting rifles the crown gets cleaned along with the barrel every + - 30 rounds
Is the new super varmint coming to U.S? It’s green rough tech stock gray cerakote barrel fluted bolt also. It and the amber one here was released other countries last year
Yeah this rifle released overseas last fall, but I’m not totally sure when it will release I’m America, nor the rifle your talking about.
How did you guys obtain this rifle? I’m looking for the stainless Ember in 30-06 and so I contacted Berreta who is the distributor for Tikka in the US and they told me the Ember model isn’t being imported to the US yet. What am I missing here?
We work with Tikka.
@@PNWild does that mean I can call to order one from y’all?
@@OkestCyclist haha I wish!
Woooow
🔥🔥
When will this be in stores and in what stores
Not sure yet but we were told this year!
Any update if these will make it to the States this year?
Update yes, sometime this fall!
Which king of scope do you recommend on that particular rifle for deer hunting?
We’re fans of the vortex viper pst gen 2, great hunting optic for a great price.
Thanks a lot
Is the bolt shroud plastic?
Hey brother, awesome camera work. Where did you pick this up? I have been unable to find this model. I am in love with it. I am also curious what MSRP was on this??
Thanks Travis! We are partnered with Tikka and we’re sent this rifle last fall! It should be released to the public this year!

We work with tikka, we got the rifle early.
I'll take one in 7mm-08, stainless!! Thank you!! Beautiful rifle, too bad they are not available in the U.S.A. This is what Beretta says, don't kill me, I'm just the messenger!!
They’ll be available this fall in USA

I've got to trade my Ruger American on one of these..22-250,,Oh..Yeah!!!
Nice,
Thanks Tim!
I missed it, what caliber is your example rifle in? 6.5 creed?
6.5 PRC
I have a Roughtech, a regular T3x, and a Hunter. Save a few hundred dollars and get the regular T3x. The bolt on my Roughtech isn't near as slick as my regular T3x. I wouldn't have bought it if I had it to do again.
Now, when will Tikka release the 7 PRC already?
Omg 😲
Quick on the draw, like it!
Howdy! What Picatinny rail was used?
I hate this rifle....til its in my hands..then its love...dont tell my wife
Hahahaa
sure........ but you need a GRS stock to make it wow WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW !!!
when you put locktite on a muzzlebreak - that tells me you are pure amateurs.......... nobody does that!!
I’m sorry you feel that way, but we’ll trust the gunsmith who builds custom rifles for a living! We do appreciate your comments as they help with the mysterious RUclips algorithm! Cheers my friend!
For having few Tikka’s, I can comment.
Nice Rifle, for sure. Fluted Rifle to save some weight, but putting a Razor on this of it defeat that. Trigger is asjustable: Yes but the lowest you can go is 3 1/4 lbs to 4.5 .
Shooter and hunter likes their trigger between 2.0 - 2 1/2 lbs. Required a new quit of spring and adjustment.
The Receiver is already tap/drill Plus a Dovetail, Instead of using the existing mounting system. You srewed a picatiny rail ( adding weight) and installed rings .
Blue lock tight is a must, but clean your parts with alcohol prior to.
( picatiny ) I already did that, but found the proper rings. looks way better and save some weight.
Recoil rubber puck pad, same issue for at least 25 yrs … throw that in garbage on get the limbsaver 10803.
You didnt talk about the final weight.
no test shooting .
whats the caliber ?
Range day Shooting, and final weight will be in the next video. Appreciate your feedback
I like picatiny rails because I have a couple expensive scopes that I use on more than one gun, this makes it faster to switch scopes
@@barrymantei7795 I completely understand, i did the same during the load development. but once i was settle in , I made the switch.
Actually the scope on it is a Leupold Vx3 , One inch tube. 4.5-14-40 B&C. i shot it up to 700 yards and its great. But, one thing i dont like is: the elevation turret is not resetable, just a small brass disc with a notch to indicate where is your zero. its an older model, maybe the new ones are different, but its light, small and powerfull enough for my needs.
@@barrymantei7795 that’s a great point.
@@yl3064 also makes sense. Appreciate the feedback you guys!
why in the world would you mount the scope before you do the trigger? you have the scope in the vise, not the action. just wondering why you are doing this? i have been doing gunwork for over 50 years and have never seen anything like that. no sense in using rings or base, you may as well use electrical tape
Wasn’t planned that way, decided to check and adjust the trigger at the very end. She kills deer still 🤙🏼
@@PNWild You there are guys (gun whisperers) that look for anything to criticize since they know best....great video hard rifle to purchase. Out of stock
PNWild. That John guy is a clown…. You guys are dialed!
We all have our own way of doing things it might not always be the right way but that's how we learn trial and error at least he's trying some people won't even try 😊
I have a tika three in 6.5 creedmore with a decent scope….and would not trade it for anything….tack driver even 400 plus
What height rings are those? I have the same rifle and just ordered the same scope.

How does this model compare to a Benelli Lupo bolt action?
