De-valuing? Ridiculous. I’ve been collecting since the beginning and I’m glad these were released again. I think it’s ridiculous the prices these figures were going for on the second market. I want every person who wants these figures to have access to them a reasonable prices. I have to say though, that new Luke face is kinda disappointing.
Agreed. Six months ago I caved and paid $90 for IG-88. A week later Hasbro announced this archive line and that IG-88 would be in the first group. Typical curse move on my part. Now I have 4 of them. But, I’ll keep the $90 figure in its original blue box mint on the shelf. It may or may not retain its value being the original box, but I don’t care. It looks great both opened and unopened.

I really want Bespin Luke but I feel like the ESB focus has now passed so he won't necessarily be on their radar now.
I agree. Luke and Boba Fett should always be available for new collectors, and the other two bounty hunters were nearly impossible to find for a lot of people.
I missed the original Black Series Boba Fett, and absolutely refuse to pay scalper prices. ABSOLUTELY REFUSE!!! I will not support a scalper doing their dirty work. So I was really glad to find the re-released Boba Fett. I picked one up after work at Walmart for a smooth $20. 😁
If you buy toys just because of rarity or value than please go buy fancy cars or rich shoes people collect these figures because they love the characters and universe they come from and to deny someone that joy just because you want to feel special is sad.

My first ever black series figure was Commander Cody and I'm so sad to see his vaule has gone up because now with the inclusion of Rex, Wolf, and Gree, it would be nice to have all the clone commanders side by side
I learned a LONG time ago that no toy is ever safe from reissue BUT by the same token, why deny fancy cars or rich shoes to those who want them? If reissues are going to happen at all, they should be evenly distributed to ALL things. That way our society can truly be drive-through disposable/communist in its purest form.
This is also works for people like me. Originally started collecting with the first wave (had X-Wing Luke, R2D2, Sandtrooper, Greedo, Darth Maul and the Prototype Fett). Had to sell them shortly after, as I was in a bad place monetarily speaking. Been back collecting Black Series pretty hardcore since shortly after Rogue One, and these are perfect vs. trying to pay after-market prices for the originals on eBay.
Luke is a little disappointing. I was hoping for Hoth Leia level goodness. Does the new Luke head fit on the farm boy Luke body? I wanna do a head swap and use the x-wing figure body for a custom.
I was thinking the same, too. I'd be willing to be Farmboy Luke has to be on the radar for a re-release with a new head sculpt. He's got to be one of the worst offenders.
I’ve had to return too many figures due to production errors, one leg being shorter then other. Blister packaging seems to make that impossible. However I’m incredibly happy that they’re rereleasing figures I missed.
The Fwoosh I guess thinking about it there’s not really a difference since a defective figure is useless either way. Maybe it’s just me but I just feel rude returning something that I tore open, like blister packaging, than something put neatly away, like in the traditional packaging. Either way they shouldn’t restock it so maybe blister is better?

I'm extremely they put these out. I didn't start on the line until last year this time. I was not going to pay the ridiculous prices on the secondary market. Yeah it's not like they are Designer Hot toys. If they kept re-releasing those then collectors could gripe but everyone who wants these should be able to get them and at a fair price and not like £80-100 resale.
I’m glad Hasbro is re-releasing its greatest hits. It gives a chance to collectors like myself, whom got into the BS line not from the beginning, to obtain desirable figures that are way overpriced on the secondary market.
I’m super glad they rereleased these, I have usually been an import only collector but thanks to years of watching your videos (and yes you are the best) I started buying a few black series here and there
I'm so thankful for the re-release. My pre-order case from Dorkside Toys came in yesterday, so thanks for the heads up on that Fwoosher. As for the figures, I had the originals, but they were lost to The Great Collection Purge of 2015. Then 2 years ago I started Collecting again, I said at first that it would be a focused Collection of MP Transformers only. That quickly lead to MP and Black Series only... Then MP, BS, and Legends only, and I'm sticking with that! So for me, I am incredibly thankful for the re-releases!
The people who complain about de-valuing the figures are the scalpers, or perhaps those who paid over retail value on the secondary market. I am glad to see that these figures have been re-released for those who were not able to find figures on the original release.
I’ve been a huge Star Wars fan my whole life but just started collecting the black series over the summer. For me these are all must have characters so I’m more than excited for this set
I missed all four of these original releases. And as of now I have all 77 of the red box releases. So for me this re-release is a godsend. I now have the complete bounty hunter set. And when the rest of the archive series is released I’ll need those as well. I was late to the black series 6” line and only have half of the orange/blue box releases. Great review as always!

The First Releases where pretty hard to get over here in Germany . Plus they have been sold for monstrous prices (from 40€ to 75€) .So Iam pretty happy that they are back on the shelf now for 26.99€ at local toy stores .....
Another banger video, I only started collecting a year ago so I never got a chance to pick up the original boba fett and never wanted to buy it for secondary market price so I definitely buy this figure once it hits my local toy shop
I just picked up a Luke at Target and the head is in between the two you have shown while the white of the vest is nice and crisp to the edges. The hair is like the original one and the face has the new printing but isn't glossy. There were two in the store and one had a lot of the printed weathering and one with hardly any which is the one I purchased. It may just be a luck of the draw thing with their finishing.

Hasbro keeps retooling the Clonetroopers and Imperial officer figures, which is cost effective for them, and makes fans happy. I'd like to see them do the same with Rebel pilots. Make one a bit taller, then mix and match parts with new headsculpts and paint apps. Like in the 4 inch line, Porkins would need his own dedicated sculpt, but if they made his life support system removable like Jaina, they could reuse it for Wilrow Hood. You can have that one for free, Hasbro.
TheTrognation lol I wish. Hasbro hates clones it seems. All we got are a phase 1 repaint and a phase 2 repaint. Maybe a few commanders. Stormtroopers on the other hand they make every single variation. So please don’t assume clones and storms are the same. Very different. I’m someone who wishes there was more clones because of the lack of them in the line

these figures have put a lot of “collectors” nose’s out of joint. But Hasbro never said they would never release these again. Seems to me Hasbro have just given someone like me a chance to finish my bounty hunters. They could of made loads of improvements, tempting those people who already have them (archangel) but no. This is purely for those who missed them the first time.
I found these today at Target. The Luke I saw looked great in hand. The face was much less shiny than yours. I only grabbed Boba Fett but I may go back for Luke in the future.
I don't like that Ellen Skywalker face or In-Gold-88k but i'm happy to be getting 3 figures i missed, AND i get to make terrible jokes about their names. Love the thorough and positive review!
I agree with him it was so refreshing seeing these at target the black series needs an overhaul ASAP. ML at least changes the color and logos from time to time

It's good that these have been re-released to make it easier for fans to get. Whether you want these for collection, display, nostalgia, photography purposes or just because you like the chracters, it's good that they are now easier and cheaper to obtain. The only people bitching about it are those selling the originals for rediculous prices and the ones who paid rediculous prices for them in the first place and are now dissapointed because they wasted money and don't feel as elite any more. Thanks to the archive line, customers can now get about three to four bounty hunters for the same price as what some people used to sell one for.

I like being able to get Iggy & Bossk at retail price, but I wish they would’ve taken the opportunity to improve the sculpts/scale of some of the figs. Did they switch to a better plastic at least? I know the older figs feel like they were made of a more stiff plastic; like getting the double knees on my Boba felt like it was stiff/brittle/ might break 🤷♂️
The line is about rereleasing the figures with the original sculpts. The whole idea is to get those same figures back in the hands of new collectors who are getting started. The changes will be minor as far as sculpt and articulation goes. The real changes will occur in face print tech and plastic quality/ QC

I think I'll hold judgment until I see Luke's face blasted with some dull coat to knock down the shine...hopefully that will make the difference. That said I odered this wave as soon as I saw it up for preorder since I got into the line with the 40th figs and have been wanting an x-wing Luke for awhile and with the rest it will complete my bounty hunters. Even though I already have (and love!!) the Mafex Fette, can't have too many Bobas!
Finally I can get a good X-Wing Luke without paying stupid money to get hold of a 40th anniversary Luke, a dull/matt clear coat will fix the glossy look of his head, great review and a happy New Year Robo... bring on the 2019 plastic.

I don't collect 6 inch figures but.... maybe I'll get the IG-88, looks pretty cool. Btw there where 4 IG-88 droids: IG-88A, IG-88B, IG-88C and IG-88D, the one on the star destroyer was B and he's also the one that was dead on that Bespin place where Chewie finds 3P0 torn to pieces ...on legends tho XD
Just got my archive luke and the hair on mine is definitely more of a matte. also the white shoulder straps have a solid paint job on mine. think you got a bad one

I just picked up X-wing Luke. Last one on the pegs at Target. my face looks great. Definitely better than any of the Luke's we've gotten in the past. I reckon Hasbro could've put a repainted Jango Fett helmet/head on the Boba re-release to get that 'wearing a helmet on your head look' spot on, Regardless, I'm really happy that they're doing the Archive line, looking forwards to getting mine!
Not sure why people are mad they rehashed boba. I have the original figure in card and its nice to get this rehash so I can open him and enjoy him. Its nice to get the luke figure as well.
I didn't collect Black Series until the Force Awakens, and by a stoke of luck at the time found a Orange line Han Solo, so I complete thankful for this rerelease. It's the first time in a while I bought an entire wave of Black Series all at the same time in a while. So I hope they will continue this!
The main problem with the original IG-88 were the legs were flimsy. Even when you got him to stand eventually the plastic would bend and he would fall over, I was really hoping the new legs would be made of harder plastic, or is it the same?
I want the whole set even though the Black Series Boba is unlikely to replace my MAFEX. I missed all of them the first time around. That IG-88 though. I just want an import store to finally make a more screen-accurate figure. A model kit or something? Please?
IG-88 really just looks so...off. The overall size is a major difference and something about the figure's head just looks so wrong to me. Maybe I'm just not observant enough, but the figure's head looks way smaller than movie IG-88. And did those holes always go all the way through to the other side of IG-88's head? Maybe it's just me, but there is so much proportionally just off with this figure
I got this at a store where Ray Park was signing just because I thought I could use a Boba Fett toy. A couple years later I now have like 30 black series figures and I've lost his main blaster.
With the "sticky" rubber elbow parts, does anyone have any solutions to fixing this as i have the exact same thing happening with a couple of my FX Lightsabers with the rubber grips on those becoming sticky and everything i've tried thus far hasn't worked. Thanks.

I don't understand how they couldn't give Bossk extra range in his elbows. Plus there was a great opportunity of a bicep swivel with there being an actual cut there in the design... pretty frustrating.
Personally I think all of the reissues should be slightly more different than the originals so that both the OG collectors still have their "genuine OG figures" but also just to improve the new ones. I think the way Luke and IG-88 were handled was perfect. No face paint app for Luke, new paint ofr all of IG-88. Collectors can see this instantly if they know the details. The other two, though... maybe needed a bit more difference. Maybe an entirely new jaw for Boosk. Maybe have both hands capable of holding the blaster? Then Boba Fett, could have had a changed up dents and scratches on the suit, or instead of just dark dirt, some sand color to imply he's the ROTJ on "tatooine version", instead of the "Bespin version"? I dunno... just something. Then maybe even collectors who already owned the originals might have more incentive to get a second one if they really love the character.
Lighting is just some lamps with LED bulbs, daylight, and then the background is a bent piece of larger poster board sold at Hobby Lobby. I actually need to get a new one, this one is getting beat up from tossing figures, heh.
I recently purchased a Gen Veers for my collection. his left ankle is so stick that I can position and I am afraid to break it. and suggestions on how I can loosen it up without damage?
I ordered a boba fett online about a year back, didn't come, complained about it and requested and new one, then i accidentally got two of them, and also they are knock offs. So im glad that i can get an authentic boba fett for a reasonable price.

D D It does not, the peg hole on x wing luke is alot bigger than the peg hole on tatooine lukes head.

how about two right feet or luke missing his helmet altogether? seems luke has a lot of different 'looks' now, too.
How does it being a blister stop you from returning them? They know you opened the box ones too. Unless you're not telling them about the defects.

Yeah, if you have the originals, you're already set, unless you want to upgrade Luke's head or IG-88's overall color.

I found these today at Target. The Luke I saw looked great in hand. The face was much less shiny than yours. I only grabbed Boba Fett but I may go back for Luke in the future.
I don't like that Ellen Skywalker face or In-Gold-88k but i'm happy to be getting 3 figures i missed, AND i get to make terrible jokes about their names. Love the thorough and positive review!
Black Series needs to go to this blister card packaging for their regular new releases. Look so much better than the boxes we get now.

Nope. I’ve had to return too many figures due to production errors. Blister packaging would make that impossible.
No way dude. I personally don’t care about nostalgia, so I think blister packaging just makes it harder for package collectors.
I agree with him it was so refreshing seeing these at target the black series needs an overhaul ASAP. ML at least changes the color and logos from time to time

Another fantastic review I hope my review is half as good when I get them ! I knell before the Master ! I have been wanting these figures for so long an this stuff is hard to get in the uk we can't just walk in to a wallmart an buy them it specialist stores who charge to much !
It's good that these have been re-released to make it easier for fans to get. Whether you want these for collection, display, nostalgia, photography purposes or just because you like the chracters, it's good that they are now easier and cheaper to obtain. The only people bitching about it are those selling the originals for rediculous prices and the ones who paid rediculous prices for them in the first place and are now dissapointed because they wasted money and don't feel as elite any more.
Thanks to the archive line, customers can now get about three to four bounty hunters for the same price as what some people used to sell one for.

If you heat the adhesive on the packaging you can open them without damaging the packaging.

The less than 90 degrees on Boba's elbows is a deal breaker for me, especially since I have the Mafex ESB figure. But Bossk knocks it outta the park.

I like being able to get Iggy & Bossk at retail price, but I wish they would’ve taken the opportunity to improve the sculpts/scale of some of the figs. Did they switch to a better plastic at least? I know the older figs feel like they were made of a more stiff plastic; like getting the double knees on my Boba felt like it was stiff/brittle/ might break 🤷♂️
The line is about rereleasing the figures with the original sculpts. The whole idea is to get those same figures back in the hands of new collectors who are getting started. The changes will be minor as far as sculpt and articulation goes. The real changes will occur in face print tech and plastic quality/ QC
I had no fear when manandling these, and IG-88 does feel more sturdy than the original. More stable standing.

I think I'll hold judgment until I see Luke's face blasted with some dull coat to knock down the shine...hopefully that will make the difference.
That said I odered this wave as soon as I saw it up for preorder since I got into the line with the 40th figs and have been wanting an x-wing Luke for awhile and with the rest it will complete my bounty hunters. Even though I already have (and love!!) the Mafex Fette, can't have too many Bobas!
Finally I can get a good X-Wing Luke without paying stupid money to get hold of a 40th anniversary Luke, a dull/matt clear coat will fix the glossy look of his head, great review and a happy New Year Robo... bring on the 2019 plastic.

Will get all 4. I regret not buying Bossk when I first saw it in stores. I passed on Luke. Never saw IG-88 and definitely never saw Boba Fett in stores.

Btw there where 4 IG-88 droids: IG-88A, IG-88B, IG-88C and IG-88D, the one on the star destroyer was B and he's also the one that was dead on that Bespin place where Chewie finds 3P0 torn to pieces ...on legends tho XD

Hey I’m new to black series collecting and I was wondering the purpose of the hexagonal hole on the back of some action figures like the mimban trooper who doesn’t come with any gear to put back there
The torso is a reuse of the earlier Sandtrooper torso that had a backpack included.

I just picked up X-wing Luke. Last one on the pegs at Target. my face looks great. Definitely better than any of the Luke's we've gotten in the past. Not sure why people are mad they rehashed boba. I have the original figure in card and its nice to get this rehash so I can open him and enjoy him. Its nice to get the luke figure as well.
Some think that this reduces the value of their originals. I guess it's true, I just don't have that mindset.
I didn't collect Black Series until the Force Awakens, and by a stoke of luck at the time found a Orange line Han Solo, so I complete thankful for this rerelease. It's the first time in a while I bought an entire wave of Black Series all at the same time in a while. So I hope they will continue this!
Wave 2 comes in the fall, with Anakin, Scout Trooper, Yoda, and rumored to have Darth Maul.

The main problem with the original IG-88 were the legs were flimsy. Even when you got him to stand eventually the plastic would bend and he would fall over, I was really hoping the new legs would be made of harder plastic, or is it the same?
The new one seems to be much sturdier and stands easier.
I want the whole set even though the Black Series Boba is unlikely to replace my MAFEX. I missed all of them the first time around. That IG-88 though. I just want an import store to finally make a more screen-accurate figure. A model kit or something? Please?
IG-88 really just looks so...off. The overall size is a major difference and something about the figure's head just looks so wrong to me. Maybe I'm just not observant enough, but the figure's head looks way smaller than movie IG-88. And did those holes always go all the way through to the other side of IG-88's head? Maybe it's just me, but there is so much proportionally just off with this figure
I got this at a store where Ray Park was signing just because I thought I could use a Boba Fett toy. A couple years later I now have like 30 black series figures and I've lost his main blaster.
As a SWOG, it's my judgement that no point there is having a 6" X-Wing Luke without a 3ft X-Wing to put him in.

With the "sticky" rubber elbow parts, does anyone have any solutions to fixing this as i have the exact same thing happening with a couple of my FX Lightsabers with the rubber grips on those becoming sticky and everything i've tried thus far hasn't worked. Thanks.

Never wanted to get hooked into six inch so I missed out first time around but I only own one figure now. Me
I don't understand how they couldn't give Bossk extra range in his elbows. Plus there was a great opportunity of a bicep swivel with there being an actual cut there in the design... pretty frustrating.
Personally I think all of the reissues should be slightly more different than the originals so that both the OG collectors still have their "genuine OG figures" but also just to improve the new ones. I think the way Luke and IG-88 were handled was perfect. No face paint app for Luke, new paint ofr all of IG-88. Collectors can see this instantly if they know the details.
The other two, though... maybe needed a bit more difference. Maybe an entirely new jaw for Boosk. Maybe have both hands capable of holding the blaster? Then Boba Fett, could have had a changed up dents and scratches on the suit, or instead of just dark dirt, some sand color to imply he's the ROTJ on "tatooine version", instead of the "Bespin version"? I dunno... just something. Then maybe even collectors who already owned the originals might have more incentive to get a second one if they really love the character.

Lighting is just some lamps with LED bulbs, daylight, and then the background is a bent piece of larger poster board sold at Hobby Lobby. I actually need to get a new one, this one is getting beat up from tossing figures, heh.

I recently purchased a Gen Veers for my collection. his left ankle is so stick that I can position and I am afraid to break it. and suggestions on how I can loosen it up without damage?
I ordered a boba fett online about a year back, didn't come, complained about it and requested and new one, then i accidentally got two of them, and also they are knock offs. So im glad that i can get an authentic boba fett for a reasonable price.
