The knee is in fact double jointed, though to get it moving required a lot of force. If you do want to get the knees moving, make sure you support the leg while forcing the joint. Make sure you hold the hard plastic to bend it. Though it makes no difference to the articulation because of his hips.
Jim Williams Thanks! I’m really hoping someone else like Bandai takes a shot at the character. I do know that Tamashii Nations teased a Samurai version, so we know he’s at least on their radar.
I always thought IG-88's (the character) movement would be as rigid &limited as this figure's original 5poa limitations suggest. But after watching The Mandalorian episode with IG-11 i know better. In that show IG-11 is depicted as a super dynamic multiaxial killing machine. That blew my mind watching it clear house. So when i recently acquired the IG-88 archive figure i was disappointed to find the articulation limits were a poor representation of the character's capabilities.
