Best mine exploration channel on RUclips, with small and large mines, what’s not to enjoy? Ohh and interesting geology! Glad to see and hear that Frank and Sharon, Mr.M, and Jeff Williams will be joining you soon Gly!
I really appreciate the way you slowly pan with the camera. So often other youtubers spin the camera. Makes it hard to watch. Thanks for your great camera work.
“Gly”: My philosophy when documenting abandoned mines is the camera comes first. When the camera is just along for the ride what you end up getting is dizzying and disorienting content. Thanks for the compliment!
I suspect Gly, that that roof collapse at 13:23 happened while the mine was still being worked. You notice the rails before and after the collapse are gone but the rails under the collapse are still there. They may have been discouraged at finding little silver and that collapse was the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak..
The chipmunk walking and breathing. Thanks for all them the purdy colors and copper sulfides. Beautiful views as well. The best drone footage ever. C ya next week, Gly. Love one another.
Tough People and a Tough way to make a living. Hard Times create strong Men/Women/Children, Strong Men/Women create Good Times, Good Times create weak Men/Women, Weak Men/Women create Hard Times. People back then were harder than Wood Pecker Lips.
I really enjoy the small mines and the colorful deposits, and especially I enjoy the commentary regarding the geology etc. Is it possible that one day you could find a small deposit in one of these mines and process it to show us how much or how little valuable or desired product the miners actually obtained from a given piece of rock? If they were mining copper for example, how much actual material in general terms would they have been able to get from how many tons or pounds or yards of the pieces of rock they were sending to be processed. Also about how many miners were in a typical crew for different sized mines? Maybe you should write a book, illustrated of course, and put it up on your web site for those of us who waste your time with all these questions. To me, your story would certainly make for an interesting read., because your commentary certainly is excellent. Good luck and God keep you healthy and able to keep doing what you seem to enjoy so much.
“Gly”: That would be fun but I just don’t have the resources to conduct crushing and sampling since I live and travel in a RV full time and that’s why the channel is more about exploring and geological observations. I’m happy your enjoying it!
I have to say, as much as I appreciate how far your production value has come, it's nice to see a video more like your older ones. Where it's just you and one camera, with no special cuts or 360⁰. I do miss Mr. M tho. Hope he's well
Good morning from Eastern Kentucky, Gly I used to work in the coal mines and I used to find and explore the old coal mines here in Kentucky but they are very dangerous, I love your videos I get to explore the hard rock mines of the west through your camera. Thank you sir for giving me something to look forward to on Saturday mornings, I'm like a kid again waiting for Saturday morning cartoons.... Lol
Yes, it's really interesting, especially Gly and his attitude and personality. I used to do a little spelunking and I thought natural caves were the best, that mines would be boring. But NO, after watching Gly for a while, I see how interesting they are. there's history here and geology. And those miners, how much hard work they must have done, they weren't afraid of the hazards and damn they did a lot of work, every foot of it. I just can't imagine how much work that was. And it's all there rock after rock. Amazing.
My favourite channel! Through the magic and wisdom of YT I was not shown any of your latest vids for some time, had to claw my way back and man am I glad to be back, it's been nothing but people pronouncing 'across' correctly for weeks - crazy.
Love these videos. Those mule trails are so narrow, it’s hard to believe a mule can fit. I went on a horseback ride once and the guide said they can go places on 4 feet that we can’t even think about on 2. Still wouldn’t want to ride one on these trails!
Thanks Gly, I did notice the beautiful blues and greens in the different prospects/mines you went into on this episode. I really love the different copper minerals they're so pretty but can be toxic. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx ❤
“Gly” Thanks Sue! And thanks again for being such a loyal subscriber. You’ve been watching my channel now practically all the way from the beginning and I’m really happy your still enjoying it even though sometimes I don’t respond to your comments. Life just sometimes gets to busy to answer them all. Take care!
@@AbandonedandForgottenPlaces Thank you, your channel is awesome as are you. I remember thinking who is this mystery man as your face was always hidden lol. Your channel has come a long way since then and deservedly so. Never stop smiling, much love. xx ❤❤
Yes, with more people along he can do some of that technical rope stuff, that will be cool. And I love Mr M (not to discredit the other people). What makes this the best mine exploration channel is both Gly's wonderful personality, he's got some sort of magic, I really feel I'm along with him. Not to mention, he's a natural born movie maker. He's got the cinematography, movie star presense 😁, and the editing down so well. It's beautiful stuff and a joy to watch.
“Gly”: Thank you very much! I really am giving this my all and the fact that I’m enjoying it greatly myself shines through to the audience. My philosophy has always been to be friendly and personable, do good work and the world will beat a path to your door. That philosophy has always been the core of my successes throughout my life.
Love Gly's mine explores. Educational and entertaining and that's a balance that's harder to strike than gold. Been around since episode 20-ish and you've still got me coming back every week for more. Thanks Gly!
THANKS TO YOUR SHOW FOR BRINGING PART OF THE OLD WEST ALIVE. IT S VERY EDUCATIONAL AND BEINGS I AM CLAUSTROPHOBIC,, ITS REFRESHING TO HAVE AOMEONE WITH A KNOWLEDGEABLE BACKGROUND ON MINING. AND STICKING WITH FACTS AND TRUE HAPPENS IS WHAT I LIKE TO SEE. NOT SOME IMITATION SHOW. THANKS AGAIN FOR KEEPING IT REAL. P.S. I AM FROM WISCONSIN TOO. WHAT A GREAT STATE TO GROW UP IN. I AM ALSO AN OLD WEST BUFF FAN. AWESOME SHOW
Another awesome video Gly! You do an amazing job filming and documenting these mines. We look forward to your video every week! Take care and stay safe. 🔦⛏⛰
Gly, could you do an episode one day on the equipment you use? I'm really impressed with the camera you are using in the low light situation and the lights you use. The videos are crisp and you are really able to bring out the features of the mines with whatever you are using.
“Gly”: I’d like to do that someday but the problem is I would be revealing some of my channels proprietary videography methods. It’s always been the goal of my channel to make it look and feel very much different compared to the other mine exploring channels on RUclips.
Really nice blue and green samples today, but last weeks galena was pretty much fantastic. I never saw that much high quality crystals laying around on the ground before.
Great content Gly check out heavydsparks channel he has just done a mine video looking for the remains of Susan Powell. He cleared 3 birds nests from collapses in a vertical shaft and uncovered some drifts that run along the bottom. I can’t remember what state it was in maybe Utah. Maybe might be worth a look with the schnozelator attached to the jeep and then lowered down. Keep up the good videos gly
Thanks for the exploration, Gly. I hear there is going to be a gathering of explorers in March. Jeff Williams, Frank & Sharon, Gly, and Mr. M. That will be fantastic!
“Gly”: it really all stems from my understanding of surface geology. If you know what’s on the surface you can generally deduce what might be underground.
Hey Gly, it has been a while. I've still been watching faithfully I've just been so busy. I'm glad to see you're doing okay, have you heard from Mr.M? how's he been doing? Anyway, I just wanted to say hey I'm still alive in Florida. Thank you for another awesome explore.
What a GREAT video....walking us through all those adets......lots to see for us "city people". At 32:57, via drone, looks like alot wheel barrel trails or are they game trails? That adet where it seems they were searching for copper was a great find! )Malachite is more green, but then you are kinda color blind...ha. I enjoy the "running time" of your videos when they are over 40 mins. (can't get enough of Gly Coolness) Not much wear on those tires, they'd be a great buy.
The stolls look to be Palo verde, esp since its the only thing growing other than the Saguaro's in the drone footage, as I'm not seeing mesquite, or iron woods, probably too dry..
Way good to watch out for the flying mice👍.. love the tours and geological edu 👍 maybe raffle off old Bob’s shoes? ❤️ to the rest of the crew Mr. M n Randy😀

Ok Gly, the shutter sound really screwed with me. It's the same sound as the screen shot function on my phone. Lol I kept wondering "why is this damn phone taking screen shots!?"
“Gly”: Haha! I purposely picked that sound effect for just that reason! These are the goofy things that I do in my videos and then I sit back and wait and see if people take notice. And you did!

Nice adventure. I like the sped up parts. All the work it took just to do those little prospects with limited tools is amazing. Thanks and stay safe.
Wow time flies by it's been three months since we've seen Mr .M ,I hope he's doing ok too. And also Randy .
“Gly”: Everyone is fine, just doing their own thing since we parted company.

It constantly amazes me how much work they had to put in for what seems like so little return.
So glad I found this channel
Gly I really enjoy your channel. Small mines, big mines, or just an old miners camp your commentary and enthusiasm is always appreciated!

Yes, good idea. He could get some essays analyzed and explain to us how that works. Yes, that's a great idea!
26:47 When Gly said "he's my buddy!", did anyone else instantly think of the "My Buddy" TV spots from the late '80s?

When you speed up your camera down the trail kind of song like a pack rat running

Good grief! At 17:58 , it looks like a beasty crouched down at the end! ;-)

The cheesy animated wolf is a pro touch. My goodness. How delightful
“Gly”: It goes well with the other cheesy things of my channel. The thing is… not all the cheesy things I do are noticed. Ya gotta look closely. 😉
I look forward to this more than new episodes of my favorite shows on netflix.

Hello from Denmark
Hello Gly, are there any merch pillows available? thank you for all your hard work and videos.
I used to have a lot of samples and Malachite, cool stuff.
wheels and tires look great, hope you a good price for them.
Talk to Mr M lately? Hope he and Mrs. M are well.
“Gly”: No, unfortunately no pillows. The guys up in Nevada are doing great! A bit cold though.
Tell us Jeep people about Old Bob's new tires and suspension mods.

Tom and Julie were at this mine recently.
Sorry Gly I can't resist. Dolomite is my name. Okay glad I got it out of my system it would have bothered me for months.
Mesquite trees most likely the logs use in the mine.
OK set my Alexa to remind to catch this episode at the get go. 😁
Where's the Benny hill music when you speed up your walking.😂
“Gly”: I tried doing that once but they copyright striked me and I had to remove it. 😞
Odd that there's no surveyor tape/markings in these small mines...especially the one in the @40-44 minute timeframe.
there is an old British actor in the seventies they sped up the speed chase reminds me of your speed walk
Sorry I'm posting here I can't find direct email.
So here goes. Gly I'm trying to set up a camera rig like yours.
I can find bits and pieces on Amazon. Are you incorporating a gimbal you rig or is you hand just super stable while trotting over those rocks?
more like Milwaukee's BEAST 🙂

“Gly”: Chipmunk mode is fun. I always get a laugh when I’m editing those segments.
Just seconds prior to the Milwaukee Best can it looked like you lit up a pair of eyes in a small hole about center frame on the wall?
