- What an amazing day digging crystals at this very exclusive private mine site. During this day the entire group pulled about 1/2 million dollars worth of quartz crystals. The biggest and best crystal I found during the day was valued, by the professionals, at over $35,000. And I was told this clear quartz crystal was going to be cut into a facetted gemstone and displayed in a museum. What an amazing day with amazing people. What an honor.
Huge thanks to @The Crystal Collector for inviting me out for this trip and @Avant Mining for hosting us at their amazing facility and mine sites.

So a lot of people are asking who determines the value of these crystals. I sure is not my guess. Avant Mining has a professional curator on site as well the mine owner is a world class collector with decades of experience in mining and selling these specimens. Between the two of them they can very accurately determine the value of the crystals. "who buys them" people with a LOT more money than me. The mine owner was telling me about some of the richest people in the world visiting his facility and buying crystals. Waltons, Royalty, celebrities......
Me in Minecraft would trade quartz for gold.
I wouldn't pay $500 for one.
Some of those are so beautiful!!! I've never seen anything like those even at crystal shops. I would pay outrageous prices if I had the money!!!
Would be cool to see the owners collection
How much did he charge for yours?
I had a blast hanging out with you Dan!! Awesome video!! 🤘🏻❤️
damn
The collaboration I didn't know I needed
give me a million dollars
I sub to you both already, so having you appear in one of Dan's videos was a real treat :D
We have to do it again this summer here in Canada!
Some people were confused by him saying he had to buy the crystal, so a bit of clarification based on what Dan said in chat during the premier!
Dan said that they could get some smaller crystals, and buy the big boys at a steep discount! So it sounds like they more or less get a percent of what they found and they could either take it in small crystals, or put their share towards taking a big boy home with them! Might not be exactly what's going on, but Dan probably isn't going to lay out the exact details of the deal.
Considering the owners of the mines could just have people doing it for 30$/hr who keep nothing compared to the treasure hunters this seems super generous. The treasure youtubers do this at his mine, get amazing content, get free gems, and get first pick of some top tier gems? Sounds like a once in a life time deal.
Dan straight up said they were very well taken care of in chat, so sounds like Dan was super happy with the cut him and his fellow youtubers got, so don't worry about it too much!
30 bucks per hour?!
fck going to university , gonna start working there, lol
Think of all the free advertising their getting back for the small discount they gave to the tubers. Pretty fair trade
What a total thrill! Beautiful 😍
With a mother lode like that, they risk flooding the market. This is good exposure for the cristal market in general.
ah now i see why they overprice the quartz so much
Gosh, crystal digging is on my bucket list. Love love love seeing y’all geek out over this hunt!
it’s really fun a think i recommend that people do it for the first time forget to do is bring atleast a few buckets back of the dirt for your way back
Dan.. Jake.. the crystal collector. All my favorite guys in one video!!! What a special video, I love this!!!
💯 🔥 🔥 🔥
I really like seeing happy familiar faces in the same video! Even though I don't (yet) know you all directly, it still feels like seeing good personal friends!!
Omg I am SO excited for this one!
Wow that’s nature’s beauty right there, stunning. Awesomeness thank you for sharing 👏👏👏👍👍👍😍😍😍🙏🙏❤️❤️
I absolutely dig your energy and enthusiasm! Wouldn't miss a video.
I really wish I could do things like this. Used to spend so many hours playing "prospector' and 'archaeologist' with my little brother, digging 'treasures' in our back yard. Maybe in the next life.
Its never too late to have a go
@@ShyDragoness I've got degenerative disc disease. I have to be very careful with physical activity unless I want to spend a week in bed.
@@gmailtyger selenite outside Great Salt Plains, OK forms in a soft sand/red clay lake bed in a fairly shallow strata. It's not a high dollar crystal but getting them is easy. It's soft enough to dig in with your hands (careful, theyre sharp!) and will definitely get ya dirty. You can drive right on the lakebed so it's not a huge trek, the site is seasonal but free, and it's a nature preserve so if you dig a bit and decide youre tired of tiny but pretty selenite crystals shredding your fingies its fun bird watching.
@@MrClarissacain we've actually do e that. Have a bowl full of hourglass selenite in our windowsill.
Thanks for sharing that about the selenite! I also have back problems lol and frequently wanderlust over these videos as I am afraid of exasperating my pain to do a treasure hunt. I love Brian’s videos too, he really shows you how to make rock hounding happen on any kind of scale.
Dan, can you talk about the geological processes that formulated these crystals. It's amazing to see how many crystals formed in just this one area. I still would like to know if there is gold hiding in those quartz seams. Glad you had a great vacation with your friends.
Seconding this - I'd really like to know how these came to be!
same. Ive seen videos of people pulling massive quartz crystals out of the dirt under trees with no matrix rock in sight. No clue how they came to be unless they just grew there.
I’m amazed! I had no idea there are crystals like this in Arkansas packed in Clay! I’ve been to the Herkimer diamond mines in Herkimer New York and it’s completely different. Those crystals are in stone. I would love to hit Arkansas! It is now on my list! Thank you
@Jac K how nice of you to suggest that! What a shame that Google isn't anywhere near as entertaining as Dan Hurd.
@@fakiirification probably just some glacier movement picking up and depositing.
Wow, amazing stuff..... some beauties there for sure.
Subscribed. I like how respectful you are to the mine owner. What an experience. Something we can only dream of.
Dan Hurd, you definitely belong in pictures. I love your energy, enthusiasm and personality. So glad I found your channel on RUclips.
Great video, excellent finds, fantastic company.
Dan, thanks for shooting 4k. It really brings in all the details I love to see!
I can see how being a miner is an addictive occupation. Just watching this video got my heart racing.
Awesome videos Dan!
Always looking forward to seeing what you find
I love Jake, he is such a good guy. Great job ya’ll.
Yes, you are Honoured! Brilliant! 👏👏👏👏👏
Awesome job Dan 👏 👍
Loved the video. Looked like everyone had fun out there.
A very lovely crystal Dan can't wait to see the one Pauly had cleaned up
Fantastic finds
Paul is awsome fun. Love the crystal coming out of that mine it's BEAUTIFUL 😍 ❤ 💕
What a great video Dan....you keep doing big things sir. Congratulations on all the success. You have definitely put in the work and truly deserve it man. Hard work and persistence pays off. What a great crew to bring together
You exude such joy and charisma! Loved watching this vid made in my home state. I miss that red clay that made all the rocks at home so pretty and fun to look for. TN just doesn't have the same kind of beauty, but I been here a long time. Fun to be able to live vicariously through you all that still can get out and about having the times of your lives!
Dan, what a privilege. It was a privileged just watching in the UK. Thanks for bringing us along.
So so Amazing n BIG Beautiful Crystal's 👍 . Bless u all n ur Family's n Friends .... 💌😇
this is going, to, be another , great video
The heat and pressure that went into forming those crystals astounds me!
You could say.....its intense?
Just. Outstanding! Thanks for sharing!
Such a great video enjoyed watching you all find such great Crystal's absolutely beautiful.🤗
Insane finds man!!!!! I wish I could go there. I've been to a few of the paid mines around there.
Regardless of what the mine lets them keep, this is still an amazing opportunity and the content for the video will make the content creators lots of money too
Wonderful video, thank you for sharing it with us!!
Thank you all for keeping the greatest hobby alive with your enthusiasm and excellent videos!
I have bought a cluster like that for 70 dollars .
I bought a much bigger one of the same quality for one dollar. But mine came with some gold nuggets too.
You might want to watch the video before commenting. to actually see what I found and why it is worth so much.

I would appreciate learning more about the age, formation and deposition of these crystals.
Nice video Dan. I really liked and appreciated your introduction to Henry the mine owner. Very cool experience I’m sure! What a location! Beautiful crystals!
Love the comrade amongst all of you! The excitement of being apart of such epic finds. Someone pick me up something shiny off the ground!! Now that would be awesome….
Great video as always Dan and I know you don't care about all sh*tty comments from small people trying to make them bigger than they are. It's just pure envy!
Keep up your good work and wish you all the best! 🤠 🇸🇪
Damn If I was the mine owner I would probably let you go ahead and take that
I love your Sunday morning episodes. Thank you for your videos
Amazing, Dan, these episodes are epic indeed!!
It's like a day of magic. It's nice to know there are still things to be found in our world that are so special.
Collabs are my favorite kinds of videos! It's awesome how y'all are all so excited to meet each other & just hang out doing some amazing crystal pulls!
I was only 11 years old when my father had taken me to this big quarry in the middle of the hills. All we had was a bag, screw driver hammer and a little garden spade. My old man and I had no idea what we were doing, He just said he had been up to the top of the hill one day and in the side it had lots of little crystals all through it. We just started digging in the middle of this big quarrys wet clay. We started pulling crystals two times the size of the the ones in your video. The crazy part is we had given them alway over the years to his friends OMG.
Massage now 📲☝️
.......
That sounds so exciting! What a great way to spend time with your Dad!
The current market would suggest a different price for the majority of those crystals
They may be exceptional for that location or general area, and the owner is welcome to set whatever price they want, but I bet they've got a ton of inventory sitting collecting dust.
I was there for 2 weeks and I saw crystals coming in and going out daily.
I don't think Dan/Pauly are bsing for views, the owner may be pricing them at that if there's enough deep pocket folks with a taste for clear quartz statement pieces. There'd have to be a few whales super into the material though to keep 5 figure stock rotating though.
It makes me happy when he come across the border and finds stuff it gives me great vacation ideas for the family here in the states! Keep up the great work Dan
Me too! I never knew Arkansas had crystals!
Spending the day outside like this looking for crystals and hanging out with awesome people is definitely a dream of mine. How awesome! Thank you dan for the great content
So amazing to see two of my favorite positive RUclipsrs together. And crystal hunting- perfect!
It was great watching these amazing crystals coming out of the mine! I mined in Arkansas starting in the 80's and I tried to get there a couple of times lately but because of the pandemic and Arkansas not doing very well with the pandemic, I decided not to go. Also, just my personal feeling, but to me the crystals are so beautiful that I kind of wish that you could focus a bit less on their value. To me, it seems to detract from the specialness of the crystals.
We all have different personalities and no 1 perspective is going to be the same! I can tell the man honestly enjoys mining, let him be. He doesn't have to conform to anybody.
@@canteskuyapete1459 My focus wasn't so much about him, it was more about the crystals. They are beautiful and they should be honored for the work they do on the earth and for the joy that they bring to those who love them.
I would love to go check out these Beauty’s myself! Holy smokes!
I think you have 3 to many zero on the price prediction there
BINGO !
$350 sounds reasonable
It was valued by a professional curator not me. I just repeated what the professionals in the industry told me.
If you pay 35k for that I have some ocean front property in Arizona I could sell you too, best sand fishing in the USA
Completely phenomenal Crystal’s. Wow 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌
Mother Nature is AMAZING 😍
Gorgeous crystals! 💖
Hey Dan how you doing I was wondering if gold is in quarts have you ever found quartz crystal That has gold in it clear any color quartz with gold
Ive seen a piece with chlorite in the crystal. Gold growing on te quartz next to the crystal but not inside. Still a cool piece!
@@yosemitecrystals6327 that's pretty awesome but I'm trying to see if does quartz crystals contain gold if quartz is a high mineral concentration area then shouldn't there be pockets of gold with quartz crystals
While gold does associate with quartz, it is very rarely in 'bullish' or euhedral (crystals like you see in the vid) form. That is because those forms of quartz typically form at lower temperatures, after any gold has dropped out of solution. In 32 years of my geological career, I've seen gold in bull quartz once. It's typically found in fine, sugar grained sized quartz.
Thank you
@@rockbutcher I've always imagined this being the case because all of my crystals for the most part are on the top side of the hill and all the mines were drifted below that area.
That is not worth $20k, I sell crystals for a living and it's worth $150-200 Maximum.
Well you should tell that to Avant Mining. They will have a good laugh.
The Last time I walked into Avant minings show room the guy was kicked back passed out in his chair the whole time we walked through, next time I head that way Ill let em know haha
Lol. You must not know what the real market looks like. I've seen smaller stuff sell for over $1k at the AZ gem shows.
Coffee, pillow, blanket and glasses.
I am ready for this one! Have a fabulous day everyone
Sooo incredible- amazing finds of a lifetime…
I will be looking forward to seeing your pricing method on these pieces. 35K. Pfffft
I did not price anything, the mining company I was with, Avant Mining, has hired professionals that do that part.
Even if it was priced at $500, it would be more than anything you've probably found in the dirt. Look forward to your thinking method on these comments 🤡
Lol the valuations on this video made me laugh 🤣 love dans videos and i know he’s not putting the price on them, but anything like crystal which is this abundant is worthless near enough, I have been to the crystal mines in Mexico, if they had valuations like this , they are sitting on trillions of dollars
I feel like I trust the people who own a mine more than you random youtube commenter.
By the sound of it the value comes from clarity, size, special features inside of them, and even parentage. A crystal coming from a special mine being worth more than others isn't crazy at all, people love their brands. If they sell these gems to big wig artists who turn around and sell them to billionaires, then they're worth the amount they're selling them for.
@eric Blackburn looks we struck a nerve lol I’m just stating that you can buy the exact same crystal for like $200, crystal clear.. you sound like a sour little man with no joy in your life.. have you been to mexicos crystal caves? I mean if you wanna pay $35,000 good on you 👍🏻
Oh and forgot to say a quartz crystal is the a quartz crystal no matter where it’s from you clown
Agreed @08 08 I find it all the time maybe not as big but even at the gem shows them big pieces are less than that, only a sucker would buy em for 35k
@josey wilds tell that to mr Eric burns he seems to be a professional in the matter, they are beautiful crystals but only a clown like Eric would pay them prices.. I will contact him once I open my crystal mine.. could retire early 🤣🤣👍🏻
You always make me smile Dan. Best wishes from Ireland.
Been waiting a month for this video. Ever since I saw you on Jake's Channel doing this. It's been a long wait, glad it's finally here. Great video.
