  • In this video I show you to fill a wide expansion joint using Sika Sikaflex Floor Sealant 600ml in the colour Grey. Sikaflex floor sealant is a one part moisture curing elastic joint sealant & is designed for connecting floor joints for crack control in industrial floors and floor joints between pre cast concrete elements. Sikaflex floor is resistant to water, sea water, diluted alkalis, cement slurry.
The way I apply the sealant and finish it off is all down to experience which is the best way to apply the sealant and get the best results.

I find it hilarious that you think this is a wide joint, it is a typical expansion joint. It also must be installed over backer rod or bond breaker tape. Never over the mess you have. Sika expressly says porous substrates such as concrete shall be primed. Absolutely sub standard installation.

I find it hilarious that you Don't see this as a wide expansion joint you must be from rhe 1970s expansion joints can go up 3inch but not on a concrete slab like this, modern joints don't need to be wide I was working on joints that were from the 1980s were they used fibre board for the expansion
As for being substandard work no way pal I've done loads man and not once have I been called back
You do know that you can prime the joints after application 🤔 like I said done loads never been called back with a problem,
Show me a video that you have done on the topic.

@@creativecramboI don’t have time to video sealant installation ( I wish I did) I get paid to actually work. I guarantee I have installed far more sealants than you. Our base contract is 300’ per day, 1500’ per week,6000’ per month 72000’ per year. In 10 years that’s over 130 miles. I’ve been doing this for over 45 years. I can very conservatively say I have installed well over 150 miles of sealant. The average concrete expansion joint in the USA is 3/4” when the bullnose is added to the top of the joint it becomes 1 1/8”- 1 1/4”
Joint minimum size is 100% dependent on the size of the slab.
Prime after you install the sealant that is just plain ridiculous. EVERY manufacturer says prime and let the primer dry ( some until it’s tacky, some until it’s dry to the touch) NO major sealant manufacturer will stand behind priming after the fact.
And it is substandard work! Sika gb specifically says do not use with bituminous materials.
It also says for ultimate adhesion concrete must be primed with Sika primer-3 N and allowed to flash off for at least 30 minutes and not more than 8 hours.

Yeah I work full time to man why don't you put some extra time in and show what you do you could definitely earn yourself some extra cash plus educate people who want to know about these things what you have said sounds really good and you sound like you know what your talking about I layed 500 bricks today that's just what I do
Anyway we will agree to disagree on this one all the best mate and thanks for the feedback 👍

@@creativecrambo then you have at least 2 skills that I don’t. I belong to the bricklayers union but if I was sent out on a bricklaying job I would be let go after 1 hour. I can lay brick but it would take me a week to do what a good bricklayer does in half a day. I also have no clue when it comes to making videos. I can patch different masonry ( mostly historical building facades.)
