Dom has a moustache, Chris is using a pick, and Matt is going through an 80s phase and it's all absolutely incredible.
Chris has played with a pick numerous times, including on their most famous track, either because of speed/endurance or because of a particular tone he was going for. This song is doing an electrorock thing where you want to downstrum every note so it sounds uniform across the whole line.

They were good back then, but have slowly become a farce of themselves. I have learnt that Muse are just copying Dirty Boy by Cardiacs as well, which has made them seem worse now as well. That song and album is a masterpiece and is like Muse, but turned up to 11, as you can see..

This song is amazing! It's so uplifting and the guitars in some parts remind me of the early 00s Muse (and I love it!). Good to know that Matt's falsetto is well and alive 🔥
My absolute favorite song on the album- its upbeat, it rocks, its got those classic Muse-y synth lines, and a simple but pretty effective guitar solo. It's got everything. There's a tinge of Origin of Symmetry mixed with some Black Holes and Revelations in there. Superb.

Its got a Brian May kind of quality to it IMO
Muse mashes up Blockades and Get Up and Fight in the style of The Killers.
Many other callbacks to old Muse songs, obviously the Blissy synth, the bassline is reminiscent of Pressure at times. Even New Born.
Edit: And yes, of course, Time Is Running Out's chorus.

They were the actual greatest band ever, and Muse are just ripping off Dirty Boy by the band Cardiacs, but without the song writing mastery that Tim Smith possessed. Halleluwah by Can has the most advanced moment of music ever recorded in history of music, at about 15 minutes in. It brings joy to our brains..

I don't know how Matt did it, but i'm so happy to hear him work around his vocals. they sound healthier and he can reach higher notes again without needing much strength like these recent eras. it's really nice to know that he's been taking care of his voice well! i was really worried for him, so this album is reassuring as it is amazing!! Plus, i noticed him working around the rasp thats been developing before, added more color!

@beebopoped4720 he did injure his vocals somewhat substantially back at the end of T2L or start of Drones when he sang despite having laryngitis. Clearly not enough to take him out, thank goodness

After so many albums drowned into synth and piano riffs, it's good to see Matt remembering that he is also a very good guitarist.
I used to hear the lyrics of a song, but this time I feel them. When I hear it playing, I just can't do anything but switching off the lights, lock the door and getting completely out of my mind. And I feel this will never get old.

Muse are one of my favourite bands because they take on the challenge of being different, bold and they pull it off so well! This album has so many sounds influenced by their older music and older artists. Music is art, Muse is art.
Excellent song. After hearing Verona and having my emotion stirred without I even know how and why, this song is really excellent.
Really uplifting song that reminds me of Bliss in an otherwise very dark album. This and Verona are a great contrast.
