Amy at one point accidentally married Henry VIII. Since Elizabeth I is his daughter, that makes her the Doctor’s mother-in-law twice.
Wait what?! 😂😂😂 that's so funny
Holy shit 🤣
more like step mother-in law, but its still funny
@@garethstewart9989 true but still funny
thats incredible you even thought about that
Calvin’s face when he heard the Curator’s voice was priceless...great reaction!
charlie e c one of the purest things I’ve seen
I don't have a personal connection with Tom Baker's Doctor specifically, so while seeing him was incredibly cool, I didn't really like well up or anything when I watched this on my own when it came out. But seeing Calvin get that reaction just to the sound of his voice itself... That got me right in the heart.
Dude, it made me tear up. For real.
AT LAST!!! THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR HAS COME!!
charlie e c facts he realized it and it was beautiful
"Great men are forged in fire. It is the privilege of lesser men to light the flame." Is one of my favourite lines of all time. Hurt's perfect delivery of it hits me every time!
mashallah
Thanks Moffat for such a brilliant line.
RIP John hurt
“Eleven’s hour is over now, the clock is striking Twelves”.
I don't get it...
SRey only one more before capaldi
i think they're saying the doctors line after clara read it out...
Clara: Eleven's hour is over now, the clock is sticking twelve
Doctor: I don't get it
@@WFKGW
Noooo I was coping just fine but u had to go and break my heart all over again😭
"I will always remember when the doctor was me"
"No Sir, all Thirteen !!"
*Capaldi eyebrows activate*
what an amazing opportunity for a show about time travel to be able to have the Doctor we don't even have yet show up.
@@jrobertlysaght No doubt the most unique debut for a Doctor
They are attack eyebrows.
They're independently angry
At beginning of series: "I mean, I don't dislike this guy, but I want David Tennant back."
Near end of series: "I hope his regeneration is far away, because I really like Matt Smith."
Ah, yes, the eternal struggle of all Whovians XD
To clarify - Eccleston LOVED being the Doctor. The falling out with BBC is why he won't come back for anything official.
Apparently it was because he was filming for his role in Thor the dark world
@@gallohalt and we know how that ended
I think he will have the same regrets Tom did when he refused to participate in the 5 doctors. Tom was in a bad place having left recently and couldn't face doing it again, but later he said how much he regretted not taking part.
@@adelucas4824 i think he commented that he has some regret
Well he's worked with the BBC again since this, so there's still time for him to get his multi-doctor story
Eric sees First Doctor: *WHAT!*
Eric sees all Classic Doctors: *WHAT!!!*
Eric sees Twelfth Doctor: *WHAT!!!!!!!*
Calvin sees Tom Baker: 😮
Oh is that what it was, I thought he was just working on his Tenth Doctor impression
mashallah
@@j-train13 love that
He didn’t even see him, he just heard his voice and knew... that was beautiful
The ship that got knocked away was the ship of the Dalek Emperor. That's how he escaped the end of the Time War and was able to show up in the Eccleston Finale.
RedClaw87 bruh I watched this in 2013 and had no idea that was the parting of the ways ship thanks for the info it all makes sense now
It looks more like the fighters that were flying through Arcadia.
@@fluxl10 It has been cut out, but it would have been at 10:51
Wow honestly never knew this and have watched this scene 100s of times
Just like Darth Vader.
Calvin is the best. He looked so overjoyed at the end of the episode, when he said "this is my favourite Doctor Who reaction ever!". So happy for him.
I love how you can always tell whenever Eric really, *really* loves a show based on whether the phrase "YOU SEE MY BOY?!?" has been uttered or not.
And I loved that he's gone from saying "I don't really get why Tennant keeps saying Allonsy" to shouting it out loud in this one lol. It's taken two years (almost exactly to the day, actually - the episode 1 reaction came out April 19 2017), but damn, it was all worth it.
Two years? Oh god don’t make me feel older than I already feel, my birthday is the 20th.
@@alexjames4507
Happy belated birthday!
......am i the only one who dont know why he says that at this point then ? is it just a random word he likes or does it actually mean something ?
@@gmoddude12 Ten? He just enjoys the word.
BlueStar oh i thought it meant something that i never learned what is XD
Calvin's reaction to Tom Baker is my favorite!
i know. ive been looking forward to it for ages
I totally lost it. Such an honest, pure reaction to someone he's loved for years.
Can someone explain Calvin's history with Doctor Who? Did he watch Tom Baker as a child? He also mentioned knowing/loving davros?
I must have missed the explanation, I've been watching Blind Wave since the beginning of Season 5.
Thanks!
You skipped 4 seasons of reactions? Anyway he watched 4 and some of 5
Aww, his little tears and puffy eyes when he recognises Tom Bakers voice!
“See those eyebrows, they’re bushy”
Me: attack eyebrows
They're very angry eyebrows
You could take bottle tops off with those.
Anon Ymes cross eyebrows
It’s alright up until the eyebrows then it just goes haywire
Quiet Demon “look at the eyebrows.”
Homeless man “whoahsjsjbsbjs” thinking: what the hell is this mad man on?
2 seconds later: “give me your coat”
Homeless guy: man this guy really is a psycho
I will forever admire Matt's acting capability in the scene with the curator. You never notice just how haunted the 11th doctors eyes are in his run until the moment he finds out gallifrey survived. I have no clue how he did it but you can literally see the light snap back into his eyes, he flips from old and harrowed to young and hopeful in an instant
As soon as Tom Baker showed up i looked straight to Calvin and I saw the purest reaction ever😢
“What do I do?” -The 11th Doctor.
“Fix People.” -Calvin.
I think Calvin truly gets doctor who.
@@jacobhogan3208 absolutely
'I don't want Smith to be gone yet.' oh Shane...
I love how he was throwing shade when David Tennant regenerated
@@TheDarkCow11 it's just the cycle of whovians
As soon as I knew curator was coming on, look straight to Calvin. Was not disappointed
Calvin’s reaction to Tom Baker’s voice was easily the most pure thing I have ever seen. I knew it was coming and was specifically looking for what he’d do and I was not disappointed. FanTAStic.
love they edited out both Tennent and Piper name, Good job.
Lono MVP
others weren't so lucky
Blind wave and sesskasays had editors who pre screen their stuff, a lot of people just turn on amazon or Netflix which is sad.
I really hope FailWhale34 does this.
Failwhale34 must. As a fav male reactor it would be disappointing if he knew
For some reason I am relentlessly charmed by:
"Did you see those eyebrows?!"
"Yeah!"
"They were so bushy!"
So pure hearted.
That's when Eric and Calvin's love for the Twelfth Doctor started 😅
@@brucesimmons5517 that’s when all of our love started, let’s be honest
Remember when Shane hated Matt Smith when he first appeared, what a journey
The cycle of a whovian
I just watched the full-length for the next episode and his reaction to Peter is the same. :D
Remember episode 1 when they all thought this was just going to be some silly kid's show that they wouldn't really get into....
to be fair, tennant is a hard act to follow no matter who they chose to play the doctor
A lot of people still do. Doctor Who started going downhill with him and Moffat.
I saw this in the cinema on the 23rd November 2013 (yes you could see it in the cinema) when Tom Baker said that first line to Smith, the entire room just inhaled at the same time. It was incredible. One of my favourite memories of being a dr who fan.
Same here, there was a distinct audible intake of breath at the showing (full house) I went to too.
Seeing this in theatres for my birthday was an absolute treat :D
It absolutely blew my mind, and is still my favorite special
THIS IS THE DAY WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!
Stolen Earth/Journey's End was our Avengers but this was Infinity War/Endgame levels of hype back in the day.
Man do i regret not reacting to this when it came out.
Abso-goddamn-lutely!!
My comparisons are...
"Utopia"/"The Sound of Drums"/"The Last of The Time Lords" -- The Avengers
"Turn Left"/"The Stolen Earth"/"Journey's End" -- Age of Ultron
"The Day of the Doctor" -- Infinity War
"The End of Time" Parts 1-2 -- Endgame
Indeed! The screening of it in the cinema was also where I met my first serious date - him dressed as eleven, me as souffle girl / Oswin Oswald. It was such an event.
SingenStatt Atmen that’s amazing x
calvin’s face when he saw it was tom baker is so pure and i’m not crying you’re crying
"Ahhh you've redecorated... I don't like it" 😅😂🤣 That never gets old!!!
Calvin and Aaron are like the two sides of the spectrum. Calvin knows stuff from the past, old who, and Aaron knows the future(pretty amazing for a time travelling show). I love it.
Calvin was ALL OF US when The Curator showed up.
Also, JOHN HURT IS AMAZING. Thank you Eric!
They didn't show this part of the scene, but one of my fav moment in this movie is Matt and David reversing the polarity of the portal:
"why isn't it working"
"We are both reversing the polarity, there's two of us, I'm reversing the polarity you are reversing the polarity, we are confusing the polarity!!"
comedy gold
@10:25 Erik says "Eccelston" with an enthusiasm that I wish more Who fans had, the 9th Doctor is severely underrated.
"He's wearing his pants!" Yes, Calvin. Yes, he is!
Calvin's reaction when he saw Tom Baker.
So many great lines. ❤️
Calvin face, that was the best when the old doctor show up. I am so glad it was so awesome.
Tom Baker: "you know I really think you might"
Calvin: *surprise*
Calvin: *realisation*
Calvin: *tears*
Calvin: "This is my favorite Doctor Who reaction ever."
Couldn't agree more. I had literal tears in my eyes...
I became a $10 Patron yesterday just for this and it was worth every penny. Can't believe we're finally here, and I'm glad Eric is excited about Capaldi too. EYEBROW HYPE.
Daniel Newton saaaame
Same! Strongly recommend people to check this full length out. Even if not now, at some point in the future if they ever have 10$ to spare. It was great!
Same and we can enjoy the FL of the next one too I believe as we have it till May
Same, Might not do the same until the zygon inversion ...
@@HaaruteLIVE Is the full length version supposed to have no footage of the episode or just a timer and no footage?
Never over how ADORABLE Calvin’s reaction to Tom Baker is 🥹
And note that after all the stuff about Ten and Queen Elizabeth, Matt Smith is the one married to the second Elizabeth in The Crown.
and yet he still married River
"Did you see his eyebrows? They are so bushy!" that just killed me. :D :D :D :D :D
Attack eyebrows
I took my grandpa (who introduced me to classic who during the 90s when I was a kid and we watched re runs on pbs) see this in theaters and we both reacted like Calvin does when the curator showed up. Great memory, miss him so much.
It was precious and utterly heartwarming seeing Calvin's reaction to the Curator, Tom Baker!
I remember going to see this in cinemas. It was so great!
I am sooo jealous. I half wish someone had recorded even just the audio of the audience reaction.
I wonder if for the 60th, they'll release footage of people in the theater watching the premiere for the 50th.
Same here. Such a fantastic episode deserves the big screen.
It was great! There were so many people in cosplay there too!
Amazing Alfredo I had the same experience and it was incredible. Honestly one of my favorite times going to the cinemas!
Me too! It was awesome!
The soft “fix people” at 9:25 really gets me
So the boys have finally reached the 50th anniversary. What an adventure it's been for them, and those of us who have been along for the ride these 2 years. So much fun.
Now it's time to say goodbye to Eleven and hello there to Twelve, and his killer eye brows.
that's the sad part about the day of the doctor after you finish you know what happens next
What’s the alternative, seal them in a painting.
Haha
Seeing Calvin’s reaction to hearing and then seeing Tom Baker just made me think of all those people who watched the classical series, with Tom Baker most likely being their favourite (and first) Doctor to watch on screen, must have felt when they watched that scene
8th Doctor: will it hurt?
Yes, it will John Hurt
If it was 9
8th Doctor: Will it Eccleston?
We are going into the great Capaldi's era, time for me to throw my money to the patreon for that sweet full-length
I can’t wait for the heaven sent episode. It’s the best episode
@Doctor Tophat Capaldi is really hard to get on s8. He's awesome by the end of the season, but he's such a change from Smith's Doctor. At the end of it all, Twelve is my favorite Doctor and I can't really say what a good actor Capaldi is. To me, Matt was able to play someone really different from who he is as a person, so we have to give him credit for that no matter what. I do think he was a good actor, but damn, Capaldi and his speeches. It's just all phenomenal. All in all what I mean, is that I couldn't say "Capaldi was the best actor too" because tbh, all the Doctors are awesome and different and it takes a certain dose of talent to be able to play the Doctor.
OMG!!!! AT 12:05 HE SAYS "REVISITING OLD FACES'!!!! WITH THE RETURN OF TENNANT DID THEY FORESHADOW THIS THAT LONG AGO?????!!!!!!!
I think this is 14th (tennant’s) Doctor regenerated and used his Tardis to become the curator
The Day of the Doctor and The Name of the Doctor are my two all time favourite episodes of the show. I never get tired of rewatching then even over 10 years later.
Yoooo, this was so great. I had the same reaction to the Capaldi eyebrows. XD
They're attack eyebrows. You could take bottle tops off with them!
I was the Calvin in my viewing group when this episode premiered. I was the only big classic who fan among us and I knew that voice right away. How could you not?
Remember the episode with 10 and Shakespeare? At the end Queen Elizabeth comes in and immediately recognizes the Doctor and is very angry? The last time she saw him they got married, and he never came back. But 10 hadn't gotten there yet himself so he had no idea what was going on. XD
Calvin openly weeping the moment he heard Tom gave me life
Calvin's face when he saw Tom Baker is priceless. Was waiting for this reaction ever since the episode 'Rose'. This is my favorite episode ever.
Edit: Now I really hope they watch 'The five-ish Doctor Reboot'
i don't know if they are going to see it since the time of the doctor is already on patreon
The episode that keeps on giving. Moffat is a genius. Amazing reaction, you guys never disappoints!
So epic, so worth the wait.
The REAL reason why these reaction videos work so well is because we get to relive the excitement of watching the darn things through the eyes of fellow fans who have yet to see what we have seen. Frankly, I will have the feels when this iteration of BW catches up with the rest of us on Doctor Who prior to the new series in 2020. In the end, as long as they keep putting out content, I will come back and watch. Well done, Lono and Aaron. Hats off to the crew!
"Because I can't see it anymore. I'm 907. After a while... you just can't see it... I look at a star and it's just a big ball of burning gas and I know how it began and I know how it ends and I was probably there both times. After a while, everything is just stuff. That's the problem. You make all of space and time your backyard and what do you have? A backyard. But you, you can see it. And when you see it, I see it."
Wish they would react to the Five(ish) Doctors reboot. I think Calvin especially would appreciate it. Loved his reaction to Tom Baker.
This episode was aired in theatres. The intro by Strax was hilarious. I suggest looking it up. Just for fun.
Calvin immediately tearing up after hearing the Curator's voice always gets me.
Great reaction loved this, Calvin's reaction all the way through was me all over, it was so damn emotional. The moment with Tom Baker...best moment in the shows History, literally if my jaw could've dropped any further it would've been on the floor 😲
🤞 for the 5(ish) Doctors!!! Its definately reaction worthy.
It's amazing they managed to put a clip of Capaldi in to show the future doctors. It shows Moffat did actually have a plan.
12:00 and 10 years later were getting Tennant back
This episode was so incredible especially the way they released it, live with no commercials. Love it. - I'm so glad their version had the names edited out.
Veno in the uk all episodes are no commercials as it’s on the bbc
Yea sadly BBC America does not.
This is possibly my favorite reaction from Blindwave of all time. I was super excited and pumped up for them to watch this, but was kind of concerned about Eric and the others picking apart paradoxes or the believability of it, but they loved it like I did too much to question anything. Perfect reaction
I remember when I saw this for the first time with my dad, who was a kid back when it started in 1963. It was fantastic to watch and the look on his face when Baker turned up was pure brilliance. Great reaction guys.
This episode is still one of my favs to this day, I tear up everytime! Calvin when he heard the curator's voice is what makes me happy! He's all of us! Really good react episode.
There's a theory that the events depicted here are all part of one giant bootstrap paradox where Rose (as the Bad Wolf) created the Moment and the Moment in turn participated in the events that eventually lead to Rose becoming the Bad Wolf.
Yeah, that sounds crazy enough to be a solid Doctor Who theory
It’s not a theory.
It’s true.
Bad Wolf creates herself. If the doctor doesn’t survive to become nine, then he never meets Rose and Bad Wolf is never created. So Bad Wolf interferes here to make sure that the Doctor survives and meets Rose so that she is created.
My favourite theory. ^_^
I think when she says "The Time War Ends" , in that second, Bad Wolf goes back to help The War Doctor.
@@JamesCPotter13 Probably. It's how she creates herself. :D
Man o Man...I LOVED seeing you guys loose it when the Curator came out.....he was my FIRST Doctor and will always be my favorite....Tennant (whom I met and got pics with!!!) will always be my second as he is the Doctor my daughter was introduced to. This episode was so great on so many levels....but man I cant wait for you all to react to what is coming!!!
Fantastic reaction!!! But now, 1 more week until the eleventh hour is over. The clock is beginning to strike Twelve.
12:03 Calvin's happy. I'm happy. Everyone's happy.
I loved your guys's reaction to all 13 doctors saving Gallifrey. When I watch that for the first time I freaked out.
Calvin's reaction to hearing Baker's voice absolutely made this video for me. The sudden realisation, like an old friend who's gone away for years has shown up on his doorstep.
And I imagine in another 30 or so years, should the show be going still, this generation of fans will get the same reaction should they hear Tennant speak out of the blue in an episode. As much as I love 9, 11, and 12, I feel that 10 was very much where the revival hit its stride, no doubt I'd be excited to see any of them in the coming years.
Will you guys be reacting to The Five(ish) Doctors with Peter Davison Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann
They did
@@burtgummer7282 Thank you for the heads up Burt :)
@@burtgummer7282 They reacted to the Five Doctors not the Five(ish) Doctors
I guess they havent because the didnt want to be spoiled on David Tennant being in the episode
@@burtgummer7282 Not as far as I saw on Early Access on their website; they did react to "The Five Doctors" a while ago, but have yet to react to "The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot"
"Oh, you've redecorated. I don't like it."
First said by Patrick Troughton to Jon Pertwee in 'The Three Doctors' (Tenth anniversary episodes, 1973).
"And in years to come you might find yourself revisiting a few"
I don't know if you guys are up to date or check comments on older videos but Eccleston just came out with a book, and also just did a convention where he talked about his time on doctor who. Apparently he was dealing with A LOT during his time as the doctor. Anxiety, and anorexia being a few examples and he also was taking care of his father who passed away all in that span. He just talked about why he didn't do the 50th was because he didn't think they would do the ninth doctor justice. (which I'm mixed on that) but I love the fact he is so protective of his doctor.
The Day has come... and soon
The clock will strike 12.
Cue tissues.
I like Day of the Doctor more than Time of the Doctor, but damn it that regeneration speech though I can't wait for that
Can you imagine the absolute freakout throughout the Dalek Empire assaulting Gallifrey when 13 versions of the Doctor’s TARDIS flew onto their screens?
The war turned into hell? That was the Daleks’ moment of utter hell.
They announced the next doctor late July and we waited around 4 months for the 50th to come out I remember as I left England the day they announced the new doctor
That's a drastic reaction
Dewey Talks how do you feel about him now?
I think it was the 4th of August, cause I remember doing an athletic event and watching the live show when they showed the new actor.
This makes me tear up. I got into Doctor Who because my mum loved it and watched it from the first ever episode. This was the last Doctor Who episode she ever watched.
Great reactions guys loved every moment of it. Aaron trying not to cry was hardest.
It looks so painful! I wasn't sure who I wanted to hug more, Aaron or Calvin lol
i often watch this again just to see Calvin's face when he hears Tom Baker's voice!
This was the reaction I had been looking forward to the most since Blind Wave first started Doctor Who. And it did not disappoint. I teared up watching this again right with you guys. Besides The Red Wedding I don’t think I’ve ever seen Calvin get so emotional. It’s usually Eric that gets choked up. Heh. Man, this is one of my favorite reactions as well. Kudos
I've been really looking forward to your reaction to this one. I absolutely love this story and they really pulled out all the stops. It's the closest thing we've had in the modern era to a big-screen movie (this was actually shown on the big screen, along with special intros they filmed). Also, it was even in 3D, hence the 3D paintings in the episode. So it looked absolutely amazing! Anyway, loved your reactions, especially towards the end.
John hurt said playing the war doctor was one of his favorite roles
I saw this in the cinema and the 3d paintings were outstanding.
I saw this in theaters and we all screamed when it cut to Capaldi's eyes.
About half of us screamed when the Curator spoke. The kids that have only seen NuWho... not so much.
"Look at his eyebrows!" Cannot wait for you guys to get into 12.
Next week destroys me.
Same brother
Just re-watched this one too. Calvin, your reaction to the Fourth Doctor's voice made me smile so hard my face hurt.
*sobbing*
"he's wearing his pants"
- Calvin, 2019
Man I still have to come back every once in a while to watch this reaction.
" ... No Sir, all thirteen! "
And the Theater was BOILING.
Watching the guys react to this just brought me back to when I watched The Day of the Doctor in the theatre on the 50th anniversary, the theatre full of people young and old who love Doctor Who, in cosplay, in merch, with sonic screwdrivers in hand. The theatre reacting as one to every character reveal, every laugh, every emotional beat. It was such a powerful fandom experience and I'm glad these guys got to enjoy a part of it together, and the editing done to avoid prematurely revealing who all was in it made the reveals all the better.
every once in a while, I come back and watch this reaction. good stuff
I'm back :) lmao
hehehe
The scene where they pull the chair, sit down and put their feet up is one of my all time favorite
Calvin's face when he recognized Tom Baker's voice made me cry.
Tears in all of their eyes...and mine as well. I always tear up watching this episode
