I’m so happy that Josh Hartnett is getting more roles he’s seriously one of the most underrated actors of all time and starred in so many of my favorite horror movies like The Faculty and 30 days of night. He was also great in the last season of Black mirror.
spoilers Josh Hartnett in the film is truly a psychopath but it turns out that they are not looking for him but for another killer, and together with his daughter he returns home
I will never understand the Josh Hartnett or M Night hate, this shit looks fresh/new and fun ash, dope ass premise, okay with knowing he’s the killer that’s gonna make a for a unique watching experience
Well, M. Night is like flipping a coin at this point...might be cool, might be Lady in the Water. Hartnett though, I don't get. He's a perfectly fine actor.
Look the man takes risks and that's truly what I appreciate about him the most. He's not going to give you this run-of-the-mill cliche movie. We should cherish this man 🙏🏻
At first I was a little annoyed because it looks like Josh Hartnett is the villain…but it’s M. Night and there could always be a twist. Then I also realized it seems like they only showed the first act of the movie in the trailer, which is refreshing. I’m sick of seeing every act in the trailer
Nah there has to be another twist. I’m gonna say he has the actual killer in his basement…they think it’s him and sets the real killer loose “saving him” and the killer then goes after and kills the daughter🤔
Josh Hartnett is SO underrated and I’m so happy to see him again. He’s gonna kill it in this. Possibly literally, but who knows, we gonna get Shammylammed.
I'm excited for this! I've been in love with Josh Hartnett since I was 5. My dog is named after Zeke from the Faculty and M. Night doing this is just as awesome sounding.
spoilers Josh Hartnett in the film is truly a psychopath but it turns out that they are not looking for him but for another killer, and together with his daughter he returns home
I’m so glad you posted this! I love M. Night. My dumb ass has a Signs tattoo 😂 and this one definitely looks intriguing! I definitely didn’t expect for them to give Josh Hartnett away! Looks good
Mike thanks for the review handsome ❤ love you keep smiling and know that u are like the best thing ever i think your a great person u should post more i mean you do post every other day but im just saying 😂 lol i mean it though 🤣 keep it up beautiful
I love Josh as well. I Hope that it’s at least as good as good as Nick of Time, because I love that movie 🍿as well it looks very similar so that would be nice 🎉🎉
It's an M Night movie so of course things aren't as they seem... What's everyone's elses theories??? Me myself thinks that Josh Harnett is indeed a fucked up evil guy but... He ain't the Butcher, he's just another killer who just so happens to have walked into the Butchers trap and the Butcher is there somewhere yet to be revealed. The movie has you believe that Harnett is the Butcher right up until the final act. Thoughts???
The biggest twist would be that this movie doesn't have a twist lol cuz I feel like most his films have some twist n everyone is just expecting that now
I'm also a big fan of Shyamalan. Like you said, 9 times out of 10 you're going to at least get something different and inventive, and Trap seems to be right on par. Also excited to see Hartnett coming back into the mainstream. Now I'm wondering what the classic Shyamalan twist is going to be? Kinda hope the daughter is the real killer, that could be wild.
We are HUGE Hartnett fans in this house. 3 generations! 😂 You’re 100% right, even if the film falters, Josh crushes. He has an incredible independent film fan base. All 3 generations going to go see Trap 😊
I’m just glad to be seeing a return of movies other than Marvel (which are fine but feeling a little burnt out). Like Late Night With the Devil was the most fun I’ve had at the theater in a while.
One of the most underrated horror directors. He’s not the greatest, but I’m rarely disappointed with him. IMO Split, Unbreakable, Sixth Sense, Old, Signs, The Village, and Devil are all really great. I even liked Glass and Knock at the Cabin, although I did have higher hopes for those, especially Glass since Split is my favorite film of his. This film certainly looks like it will go in the great category. I think it could be his best since Split although Star Wars Episode 7’s trailer also looked really good.
Very cool (though unlikely) premise! Looks good. Rippi ... I mean paying homage to Silence of the Lamb with the POV shots is a bit blatant, but I'll take it. Nick of Time is excellent. Anyone who has not seen it must fix that mistake asap! A real time thriller before 24.
Trap looks pretty good also nice to see Josh Hartnett in more movies. Could this lead to him coming back as John Tate in a sequel to Halloween Resurrection? probably not but we do need to see him come back as John Tate. Also, one thing I do like in movies is that they bring in real life music artists to play characters in movies and also have a song made for the movie. Just like how in John Wick Chapter 4 they got Rina Sawayama who is an actual music artist who both played a character in the movie and made a song for the movie called "Eye For an Eye." For this they got Saleka (who is actually M Nights daughter) is both playing Lady Raven and is going to have some original songs for the movie.
“Trap” could occur in the “Unbreakable” universe, hence the killer's name, “The Butcher.” Also, if the twist is that Lady Raven is The Butcher, the premise makes perfect sense. Why? She is a cult leader, and her concert is a “trap” for her audiences. The police are in on her organization. They are ready to enforce her will to not let anyone leave as she gives a massacre ritual at the end of her show. This would be an insane second twist.
I am stoked for this! I feel like this film will do REALLY well, particularly because it's coming out at this time in our crazy history (late summer 2024). Right now, everything is saturated in remakes, sequels, prequels, Marvel or diversity/inclusion themed stuff---and THEN comes along a film that looks so fresh, so unique, and rather simple without placating to a specific audience. And starring a great but often forgotten guy named Josh Hartnett! We're overdue for a film like this (and of course, I could be wrong about the direction its going), but right now it looks like pure, psychological thriller FUN!!! Let's go!!! I love your channel my guy, especially how you cuss and make dirty semi-offensive jokes. We need more of this in the world!
2014-2016! Logan personally asked him to do Ethan Chandler bcuz he knew Hartnett might step out of independent film milieu to take on a quirky role like that. Kismet!❤
I think people are loosing a plot twist in TRAP as to HOW they set the snare. Its obvious they dont have the identity of the Butcher so how exactly are the authorities supposed to expose and capture him? This i think is where i think we find its a sequal to a previous film. 1st option is its a sequal to a supposed finished trilogy of Unbreakable. Possibly the authorities are under command of the Clover Organization 🍀 using a still alive David Dunn to brush through 30,000 people to locate the villain. Or, 2nd.. its a sequal to Sixth Sence and we find Cole working with the authorities using his gift to navigate toward the villain within the spirit world. Both could be a possibility among a myriad of options but, I would tip toward a sequal to Sixth Sence as the color scheme of red could be balaced between both sequal options I believe the Unbreakable trilogy has been played out and this could be a refreshing tip of the hat to his first masterpiece. Red was the defining color of the spiritual moments in Sixth Sence and seems to be prominent ywithin the trailer. I looked at the casting list and did not see Haley Joel Osment listed however, that could be to salvage the twist.
Honestly, you didn't spoil anything Mike. It literally shows it in the Trailer! 😜 And hell, who knows? The real twist may be that his *Daughter* is actually the killer and now he's just wanting to protect her. With M. Night Shyamalan, you never know! 😆 P.S. When I saw the Thumbnail, I thought Josh Hartnett was Nathan Fillion! 😆
This was tough to watch. M. Night fan but not even Hartnett can save this nepo driven film (?) Went in this with an expected twist or at least an interesting movie. Hartnett was interesting for the first 30 minutes but he was never given the opportunity to live up to his menacing status. Just nothing really happened. Saw and heard far too much of his daughters music and acting. Hartnett has to play off of that limited talent wasn't fair to either actor. He deserved better and should have been given full range and more threatening. What was he so threatening about? He wasn't a genius which is obvious in the film proven by his simple mistakes. Mistakes made by the Butcher which made you question the writing. Waited the entire movie for a twist or a good old Shyamalan gut punch. Sadly it turned into something I got 2nd hand embarrassed watching Hartnett face of in a match of wits against an actor that had no business facing or interacting with him on a cerebral level. Conceptually I don't think they did their research. If you've ever been to a festival, concert or a country music show and they're trapped with no due process. In America? At a country music show. They don't play. You aren't violating those boys civil rights this day and age, you'd have a riot. Can't believe someone read this script and greenlit this. M. Night has to bank role this like Lopez did her vanity project. These artists need to read the room. They aren't relatable and nepotism runs rampant on this movie and you never got your gut punch.
I have a theory of what might happen at the end he either betrays his wife or daughter and tells the cops they are the killer and gets away in the end to kill again for possible sequels.
It says in the world of M. Night shamalamadingdong… I HOPE someone turns up in this… like the kid from sixth sense helping the police or something like that! That be so cool
Saw this trailer and I’m excited! But I feel like it’s going to be either amazing or terrible ! I just hope it’s grounded enough to make sense to the audience.. not necessarily realistic but just plausible enough to feel like this could really happen
Let’s go Josh Harnett! I’m happy to see him in more films these days as I’ve always been a fan, & now in an M Night one. This trailer showed a bit too much/ dialogue though
Josh Harnett is getting serious roles proud of him 👏 🙌 💪 👌 ❤️ He should be in Friday the 13th fighting Jason Voorhees And he is doing the dad role in this movie Just put him in future horror movies 🎬 🎞 🎥 🎦
I like this trailer but them showing the black dude motioning with his hands about chopping people up doesn't make sense. If you were going to tell someone something secretly you wouldn't be all full of motions displaying anything related to what's taking place. Maybe it won't matter so much if the movie is good but red flag with the body language.
Mh guess is that he hasn’t killed anyone yet and the guy he kidnapped is a public figure or someone the police are looking for. The “butcher” isn’t known to the world yet and he’s imagining what it’s going to be like when he does kill him. When in reality they are just looking for that guy. What if the security guard was asking him if he’s seen that guy or knows who he is, and in his head he is imagining him being scared of the butcher
The fact the outro was better than Halloween ends says a lot, I don’t know why Danny McBride even wants credit for that movie it’s a piece of utter shit that’s baffling to the fandom
So happy M. Night casted Josh Hartnett in this, the guy in awesome in all his horror films like Halloween 7: H20, The Faculty and 30 Days Of Night! We know theres gonna be exciting twist with M. Night behind the camera so im really pumped for TRAP!!!!
Check him out in last year’s Black Mirror E3 😵 Also, the Sky series The Fear Index. He makes SUCH a bad guy! Hartnett can crush any genre, just look at his filmography! He’s an independent film star.
My theory is that Hartnett is undercover ( the man in his basement knows who the real butcher is) and he goes to the concert to confront the real butcher who killed his wife ( The singer). Lol
I think if theres gonna be a twist, then the twist might actually be that the daughter is the bad guy, and in the movie, he find out on her phone, but the trailer make its look like its his phone. Just an idea, i think thatd be a neat twist, plus would make sense how the police would find out cos shes young and not smart about getting away with it, idk. Could also be this moral dilemma of his mentality, like should he protect his daughter or tell the police
The actual scary part is that m night comes with great ideas, you get a trailer that makes you wanna see the movie and in the end its one of the worst movies of the year 😅.. watch it when its available for streamig, nit gonna give this guy another dollar
????? He’s been an independent film star for 20+ years. Check his filmography. He’s a multimillionaire living out of the limelight in rural England with a wife and 4 kids😅
If you haven’t watched the Black Mirror episode with Josh Hartnett and Aaron Paul, I HIGHLY recommend! He was excellent in that episode, as he always is really. 😆 I did the same thing watching and called it on his character, but knowing M. Night, I’d be surprised there isn’t something else going on. Lol. I was happy when I saw him come back for Penny Dreadful years ago … the dude deserves to be in more movies! 😄👍
The guy has an extensive filmography! He’s been a star of independent film for 20+ years! He chose to work under the radar and have a normal life and his performances are outstanding in the art house world. We love him!
So many questions. Where’s the other parent? Why do they think the killer would be at a pop star concert? Why would they tell the low level employees whats really going on? How is he supposed to kill and shit with his daughter there?? Is the daughter aware???
He’s not a “Hollywood “ gem. He had the good sense to walk away from that circus when he was only 22! Finished out his contract and went into independent film and out of the limelight. We are huge Hartnett fans in this family, all 3 generations! I think we’ve seen everything he’s done for over 20 yrs.
@@mgariepy42 He’s still made Hollywood block busters. I agree he’s definitely aware of the bullshit in Hollywood and knows who he can work with and who he shouldn’t. He’s still filming in Hollywood dork.

Nick of Time is one of my favorite movies, so I'll definitely be checking this one out.
Im guessing that the guy Josh has locked up is the butcher. If not , it's his daughter.
It was so obvious in the trailer when his face changed I'm gonna say 2 personalities
Saw some people suggest it’s in the glass universe and he has schizophrenia and the security he’s seeing isn’t there.

Have you seen Kevin Costner "Mr. Brooks"? This feels very similar. I thought Mr. Brooks was really interesting!
Hell yeah, thats a pretty good flick too
The fact they show that he's supposedly the killer in the trailer is weird there definitely is a lot more going on
Wouldn’t it be crazy if at the end the real killer is revealed and it’s Shyamalan.
Im glad josh hartnett is getting more roles. He's a seriously underrated actor.
????? He’s been an independent film star for 20+ years. Check his filmography. He’s a multimillionaire living out of the limelight in rural England with a wife and 4 kids😅
I'd bet good money that hos daughter is the actual killer. What a twist!
Definitely checking it out
If you haven’t watched the Black Mirror episode with Josh Hartnett and Aaron Paul, I HIGHLY recommend!
The trailer says it is based in the world of M. Night, so what if Josh is a super?
This movie looks like a fun time. And it's M Night Shyamalan, so. Could be good! Also, are you planning on reviewing Abigail?
bet your titts
The ultimate twist is the daughter is the mastermind.
That would be WILD
The daughter knows he’s the butcher from the beginning
So is the twist going to be that his daughter knows what he does and helps him?
So many questions. Where’s the other parent? Why do they think the killer would be at a pop star concert? Why would they tell the low level employees whats really going on? How is he supposed to kill and shit with his daughter there?? Is the daughter aware???
“Film, like literature, requires ‘a willing suspension of disbelief.’” Just go with it!😊
I hope it ends up like dexter, I don’t want to see hartnett be the bad guy, & damn Mike u have such beautiful eyesth👁️🫦👁️ dilfy
haha thank you
This looks so interesting definitely gunna watch this
Whatever one thinks of his movies, his trailers are a class apart.
Mike is this a trailer for a movie depicting a day in your life? I knew you were a sick dude(COOL) but a serial killer too ?😂
SHHHHHH don't tell everyone
The true story of any dad at a Taylor Swift concert!!!!
No judgement 😅. Love Blink too!! 🤘🏻

Josh Hartnett is a a Hollywood gem. Love that guy he’s always been a fantastic actor
