I'm telling y'all, she's the kind of doctor you WANT to see in a hospital.
Edit: bruh 9k likes for this comment i-
Agreed!
I totally agree! I wish she was a doctor here :)
Most doctors are as intelligent as she, most have the same enthusiasm, many have the outgoing personality, until they practice about 10 years. In that 10 years they are so overworked, so frustrated by the government mandates, so angry that they have to have some bureaucrats telling them that they cannot take care of a sick patient because they are refused permission for a test or medication, that they turn into ogres.
A quote from Hillary Clinton prior to the last election sums up the whole problem: "Medicine is too important to be left to Doctors". I pray that Violin MD does not become an ogre! Her enthusiasm is refreshing!
a6daughter too bad these type of doctors rarely exist in the USA. She’s in Canada where universal medicine exists
I wish she was my doctor tbh🥰❤️
The 10 dislikes were from the hospital that didn't get her.
AHAHHAHAH accurate
😂😂
Ctorj that’s such a nice way to look at it ! Well done ! 👍😉
I know lol
It's so cute how she checks her pulse when shes excited. Such a doctor thing to do lol.
I was looking for someone to say that 😂😂
When the schools rank the applicants maybe they check social media; if so maybe they found this channel. Any hospital that sees this channel would see she is a passionate, dedicated, incredibly hard working doctor that cares about patients and is literally a one-in-a-million person. They should have been fighting over her.
She got her first choice, which is based right where she works now, so they probably know first hand how great she is without having to find RUclips :)
Hate to burst that bubble but she probably had it listed in her activities as it's a major time sink.
she’s the kinda person who deserves all the good things this world has to offer
Every body deserves all the good things 🌷

it's kayla why is that?

The way she lights up when she talks about this gives me life 😩❤️
For real 🙌🏻❤️
Yes omg 🥺💘
As a medical student, I’m thoroughly impressed you still find this much joy in your career. I feel like I’m already burnt out and I haven’t even started residency lol
I think she was born with extra endorphins lol
I feel like once you start your residency you’ll being to feel the passion coming back. Book, test and paper are not fun across all studies, but the important thing to remember is where you want to end up.
you realize you guys are going to be known as the greatest generation of doctors if you make it through this hellscape we are in right now keep it up it will pass one day.
Congratulations! A rheumatologist changed my life and made me physically able to go back to a job I loved after getting psoriatic arthritis.
Are you in Michigan by chance?

“Hi! I’m Siobhan a rheumatologist!” Can’t wait for that.

"Hi I am siobhan a first year rheumatologist"
i’m so annoyed i scrolled down to the comments while the first ad was playing ):

Siobhan! If every doctor was like you, the world would be a heaven! Keep being so humble and sincere!
My little sister has Mixed Connective Tissue Disease and sees a Rheumatologist almost every month. I’m glad you want to become something and want to help people with chronic illnesses!!! 💛
Beans, only beans

i don't think i've ever seen someone so happy, its amazing
Right? Her optimism is infectious
Why did I waste my life and not be so goal oriented like her? She’s so talented. Congrats to you!

Don’t feel bad we all did😂💜

Who else knew before she clicked refresh she was gonna get what she wanted. I mean come on just look at her intelligence and personality. I bet she was in the top 10 for all of the schools.
Wow she made me tear up of happiness for her and I’m not her follower just stumbled upon this video... wow good luck to you Doc kudos!
I both cried and laughed when you said: "I am going to become a rheumatologist"
So happy for you! 🥰
So they just tell you what you do...hmmm. What if I don't like or want to do that?
The matching process seems like the plot of Divergent.
Joe German haha!
It made me think of "The Giver".
It’s seems pretty ruthless haha
How thoughtful of her that she doesn’t want to ask the other residents what they matched with or if they did even match. It shows that she got empathy. That’s so important when being a doctor. Wish you all the best.
The pure excitement when you got the specialty you wanted filled my heart. Congrats, you sure deserve it.
Now this is a doctor that actually loves her job and isn’t doing it for the money how exciting congrats 🎊🍾
I think most doctors don’t beg on e doctors for money. They amount of stress and hard work they have to put in isn’t worth the money when you can become an engineer or a lawyer for half of the hassle. Like me I want to become a doctor and I know I won’t be making a good amount of money until I’m like 40 but that doesn’t bother me because I will actually be changing peoples lives
Ppl don't become doctors for the money. They actually lose more trying to become doctors.
I think those people get filtered out during the process. It's such hard work only someone who is committed to the work and sacrifices will come out the other side
@@say4697 I was all for ur comment until you insulted other occupations.. Try to make a habit of respecting everyone's job no matter what it is.
Jeanette Jacobs huh? I didn’t insult no job. I just thought I made it clear by being a doctor you will be helping one life at a time. Whilst for example being an engineer you can help society in multiple other ways. Anyone who mocks engineers or lawyers are pretty silly. I don’t know how you read my comment but I wasn’t trying to mock anyone least of all engineers and lawyers
In case I needed further confirmation that I don’t want to be a doctor: “11 years of school has led up to this moment where I don’t get to decide what I do with the rest of my life and also have to do two more years of school.”
All that said, congrats on getting what you wanted!
Yeah. And actually in the states before you even become a resident you get to match after med school....so think, 4 years of med school and you dont even get to move on.
This makes me so happy 😭❤ She's honestly the sweetest and most genuine person and the world of medicine is so lucky to have her
Agreeeee😱👏🙆😄
As a person with rheumatoid arthritis, I would be absolutely thrilled to have someone as passionate as you as my doctor. I'm sure your future patients will absolutely love you! Caring doctors are exactly what this world needs, especially in a field with chronic illnesses.
Everyone should strive to be this excited about their job
Yeah when everyone has the money to go to school and become a doctor and make bank.. I’m sure everyone would. Jackass
Darren Schuyler tbh it ain’t that pretty. She’s probably fucked up the ass with loans and debt. And it’s gonna be a long time before she gets that paid off... unless she got a rich daddy
Darren Schuyler you don’t have to go to college or spend a lot of money to get a job you enjoy. I know plenty of people who live very modest lives and did not go to college and enjoy what they do. I’m assuming with how rude you are you haven’t experienced enjoyment in little things before. But it’s possible to be happy without “making bank”
Darren Schuyler damn, who hurt you?
Nicole A Hahahahah
As a rheumatology patient in Hamilton, this news makes me VERY happy. We need enthusiastic and empathic new doctors in this specialty here in the city. Well done! You have a brilliant career ahead of you and will help many people.

Agreed! So Refreshing 😁😁😁
I love that you are so passionate. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when I was 16. I love that there are people still going into this field to make lives better!!
Ive watched several of her videos and love her energy. She is positive but not to the point of annoying and is proud of her accomplishments, but still has others that might not have been so fortunate in the front of her mind. I wish more people were like her.
as someone who basically needs a rheumatologist to survive, thank you!!!!
Abby Glass same!!!
I would never be able to do 11 years of university. I’m shook af right now
Aliza C. It would be my dream to do that and study a profession and become a high up doctor!

me neither. Ihave to do 3.5 years and 1.5 years in and I’m already sick of it lol
Same girl. Last year of Undergrad and i am done.
I don't understand those doctors that don't even bother to be decent. All that effort and years of training to be mediocre and rude to patients. I don't get it.

This made me so happy, your joy at getting your dream is a truly uplifting thing to watch. Needed that today, thanks!
Sioban I’ve been following you since day 1 and i’m so thrilled for you. To be honest never would I have imagined you could choose that kind of field I though you could have been like me, I’d go for trauma. If only I could turn back time...I’d be a doctor in the ER 100%.

As someone with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, hearing your excitement and passion to treat patients is heart-warming
I was thinking the same thing! It would be nice to have a doctor that understood and cared about JA
I was thinking the same thing! I have psoriasis and RA and hearing her passion and excitement for rheumatology almost made me cry!
I got the same thing
My childhood friend was diagnosed with juvenile RA when we were 10. She was later diagnosed with lupus, and we lost her at age 30. Such a terrible disease.
having so much anxiety i live my whole life with uncertainty. it’s really interesting to see people like her who don’t do anything with uncertainty (like she said with her violin) tackle an uncertain situation. but the relief after finding out you got the specialty you’re meant to be in is amazing!! congratulations!!
what video does she discuss her career uncertainty in? I'd love to watch it!
aww I actually love her she's so cute I was smiling so hard for her while watching her find the results!! You're so awesome!

I'm in my second year of nursing school and I just want to graduate already
seeker of peace same lmao
Why can’t my doctor be like her...she actually wants to be there!
Omg right!!! SAME!!
Just wait a couple years and she's gonna regret being a doctor. Just like if she wasn't a doctor she would regret not studying. Us humans are weird creatures that can never be satisfied and we always seek to have the things we don't currently have.
It's easy to say this. But the reality is, becoming a doctor is a lifelong battle of going up the stream of a strong current. Medical school breaks you down, the debt, no-sleep, clerkship, the pressure to score high in the USMLE, 80+ hour work weeks, not being in control of what you actually become, residency, bullying in the profession, mean professors and attendings literally saying ur not a good fit, low pay in the beginning, the competitiveness....Trust me, all medical students go in with passion, and slowly one by one people lose hope because we're not treated like humans. We're treated like robots by the system.
Randy Rodes Word. But it’s not entirely hopeless for other specialities. Here’s how others rank. (Rheumatology, middle of the road compared to other specialties, 28% are loving med life.)

It's the administrative work that we do every single day. It gets a little meticulous, to say the least. Hours and hours of forms.
Congratulations I'm so happy for you!! Keep your passion as a doctor never lose sight of that. Your patients can feel that energy! It gives them hope
This is freakin amazing. Wow. I got chills when you reacted to getting your results. Thank you for sharing that
It doesn't matter what type of education we've had, we all experience that rush of adrenaline and emotions when we see our work pay off! So happy for you!!!

A rheumatologist changed my life. At 40 years old, after a life time of people not knowing why I had some many weird random issues, she diagnosed me with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Although there is no cure, at least now the treatments and management are treating the correct disease. And I finally have answers that make actual sense.

So thrilled to see you chose and were matched in Rheumatology!! I was a professional symphonic violinist who began exhibiting symptoms of RA in music school at 19. I played professionally until I was forced to go on disability at age 35. I'm 58 now, but how nice it would have been to have a rheumatologist who loved music andunderstood how the hands are used to play the violin. I wish you the very best!

Leaders aA move to the states it’s just next door
@@Prodby2trill The fact this kind of thinking is so close to the US is scary in itself.
@Leaders aA The exact same process is used in the states. Just look up "Match Day" videos. The country doesn't decide what you HAVE to do. You apply, and interview and then both you and the program have to mutually agree. If you don't want to go into a certain speciality, you don't apply to it.... It's stressful, sure, but not a "scary kind of thinking"
