Went with the SWFA 2.5-10x32 Ultralight. I'm very impressed with it. Keep up the honest reviews Cyclops. You're saving us money and headaches by providing us the info we need to get the right scope for us.
My 2 favorite scope companies swfa and Bushnell. And your right Bushnell very underrated. I had a Bushnell scope on my 300 win mag rifle and now on my 450 Bushmaster and have the AR series on my AR build and all have stood the test of time. Now tasco I love the older scopes when I find one I usually by it because I can usually get one dirt cheap. But the older tascos were built like rocks and the glass was great. Good reviews love your vids keep up the good work.
I really appreciate your videos! It’s nice to have a channel I can go to that does realistic tests on scopes and let’s people know if a scope/company is worth your while or just a bunch of gimmicks. I just purchased a Bushnell engage 2-10x44 for a ruger 10/22 build I’m working on thanks to your video on it. Keep up the awesome work!
You are by far the smartest, most honest, and funniest one eyed man covering scopes on RUclips! Just kidding. Love your content. OMG, CenterPoint... was just re-zeroing one this weekend. “Ok, four clicks left”. No change. “Ok, 6 clicks left”. No change. Thought it was the rifle or shooter, but they just suck.
I'm pretty much exclusively shooting MTC Viper Pros on all my PCP guns. I still have a few that are running the 10x fixed SWFA and 2x Varible HDs (shoot S&B PMIIs on my ELR powder burner mainly but have a few SWFA SS 3-15s and 1 5-20x50 HD mounted on some lower end custom ELR guns.. when you mainly shoot PMIIs and you are happy with a 600 dollar scope that says A LOTTTT about that 600 dollar scope!!) And I have a RAW 1000x .25 LRT and a RAW 1000x LRT that have Nightforce 5-20x56 SHV with the MOAR ret. on them (amazing scope for the coin, i used to shoot exclusively the NF ATCRS on my ELR rigs and changed to the PM to for a few reasons. The SHV is mighty hard to beat at 1300usd the glass is as good as the NXS line that's 2k (i owned 6 NXS 5-20x56s and loved them the SHV line is every bit as good at roughly 700 bucks less. Honestly I would rate the MTC Viper Pros at 90% the over all quality and preformance and 85% the glass quality as the SHV line but at 50% the cost. The Viper Pro is a hell of a scope, glass quality is superb at 500 bucks and tracking is plus-minis .25minute over 50minute adjustment that's preforming as good as any scope out there in that dept no matter the cost so the tracking is world class and the glass is more then shootable, is it even close to a PMII or NF beast? Of course not lol but it's also less then 6 to 7x the price lol. The glass is easily good enough to take you out to 1000 yards on a elr rig on good days.. The heat Mirage will be hard to deal with much past a 1000 but it's still more then usable. I would rate glass quality of the Viper Pro as a little better then the SWFA SS 3-15 and not quite to the level lf the SWFA HDs. All my ultra high end pcp guns arw wearing viper pros for a reason they are amazing PCP scopes, i have one Viper connect as well and that is a very interesting optic, nothing else like it that's for sure... it's mounted on a .25 S510 XS but will soon be replaced with a Viper Pro when it gets to me and then will be mounted on a .30 Daystate big Wolv and will be much better suited on that gun.
Joe I appreciate your reviews and thank you for giving us a bit more about warranty information really helps me when making my scope choices. Thanks again keep doing what you do
Friend is a ex marine sniper. His Millett LRS just failed. He called Bushnell who owns them now. Spoke to a individual there. Was told they might warranty it. But might not. All depending on the mood of his manager. Was told they would call back. That was three weeks ago. No phone call . He never mentioned his service. Very humble man. He called on his Weaver and sent it back but forgot to put the return number on it. They sent it back. He called and nothing but broken promises. Never sent him another return number. He is on a fixed income. Wife left him and so has his health. Just a bunch of bull.
Great review is always. You brought up some companies I didn't even know where on the market. I am quite interested in Discovery. I can't remember the model off hand but it was last scope you reviewed and I love the reticle. Jokingly I have to say.... You hurt my feelings by not hurting my feelings. I really expected you to say that UTG Leapers are decent scopes for the money... If you like wearing rainbow colored tutus and listening to Barbra Streisand while you take a bubble bath. LOL! I am curious..... You commented your from the south. If you don't mind telling me which state you live in. I live in Tennessee. I always like to try to get together with friends from the internet if it's possible. I got to meet Hickok45 a couple of weeks ago up in Sevierville. I also realize some people cherish their privacy so if you don't want to tell me that's cool too.
Good day sir. I really enjoy your videos. I would appreciate it a ton if you could do a reviw on the Hawke Frontier 30 ffp 5-25x56 mil pro scope. A lot of shooters say it is very very good. Thank you so much in advance!
I was going to get a UTG but your videos put me off. What made you change your mind. My options are Hawke vantage, Hawke sidewinder or UTG hunter. What do you recommend
I've got a vtt 3x18x50 on my bt65. Great scope but I'm rough on them and after 2 years it fogged. Apex Horizon is who I buy from she said I could send it back and they would replace it. But advised me not to do it while riots are going on. So she offered a 40% discount and freeshipping on a new one if I wanted and could send my other back later. So it was between the Ed 3x15x50 and the hd34 4x24x50. I'm waiting on next week for my hd34. I've never had a 34mm tube and had to try it out. That's 1.3385 inches tube diameter. It gotta be a light gathering machine. Will let you know how much I like it.
For me the winners in clarity are without a doubt Swarovski and Zeiss, nothing comes close to this level of glass. Yet they arent too durable, you will pay 5k for a scope that you cant drive over with a car. Ior is a beast, I have 15yrd ior that was beated up a lot, dropped it from tower few times, previous owner drove his jeep over it, never lost zero, never had issues with it, great glass, catches light great. Literally nothing to complain about this scope. I also have old ass nokta (no longer produced), it's probably over 20 maybe 30yrd, it's small but very durable, always tracks back, overall nothing bad to say. I have negative experiences with some cheaper bushnells tho, they suck, reticle often drops, fogs up a lot, lack of clarity, messed up focusing (I had overall 3 scopes from new, got 2 of them as "hey, dont you want this as a bonus? Nobody wants to buy it, I wont use it anymore", I would rather use iron sight than cheap ones. Yet I have no experience with higher priced ones). Also I wont mention meopta and delta, they are meh at best at medium prices. I'm talking from perspective of european hunter tho, not tactical shooter, not american, honestly I had few american scopes in my hands but all felt more like toys (I have atn night vision tho, cool toy, bad clarity at above 200m tho). Not meaning to offend anyone, but sometimes its worthy to bring things from overseas (i dont regret getting range finder and atn for example)
Good scope for AR15 looking about 300 to 400 hundred yards out this is mostly going to be for range use .My price range is around 300 I am new to Scopes have always had red dots on my gun I love watching your videos to inform me that there's other options thank you.
Another spot on video, thanks! I Got to agree on CenterPoint, the worst scope I ever owned. Luckily it broke after about 200 shots so I bought a Nikko Sterling - didn't last very much longer but cost about $100 - Try getting in touch with anyone from Nikko or getting someone to reply when you fill out a service request on their websites...don't hold your breath! Terrible. Hawke are in a different league, just bought their Airmax, what an amazing difference. One other thing, not sure what it is like where you are, but where I am probably 9 out of 10 scopes here are fakes, every BSA, Bushnel and Leupold I have seen is a knock off - I buy mine from a guy I can trust in the UK, which sadly is about 6000 miles away so postage comes into the picture - but still worth paying a bit more for the real thing.
I liked my Discovery scope until it started problems holding zero, I have contacted the compay several times and can't get them to reply. Discovery customer service sucks!
