    Definitely the best looking Sonata. I don't like the new style of the 2018 models.

      The rear end styling of the 2018 models is really nice, but they should have left the front styling alone.
      However, as Alpzepta said, yes, the 2020 sonata is absolutely beautiful

    I went car shopping with my father this past weekend, to find a Lyft/Uber car for him. We ended up getting a 2016 Sonata Sport 2.4. Certified pre-owned with 22k miles for under 15k. Seriously a bargain compared to Camry and Accord. I'm really impressed with it. Interior fit and finish is great, tons of features, and I think it looks very handsome in dark blue too.

      Jeffery Crocker ...
      I'm currently looking to trade my Elantra in for a '17 Sonata.
      curious what kind of mpg you're getting in your Sonatas. I'll probably go with the base 2.4

    • @jefferycrocker3578
      @jefferycrocker3578 7 лет назад +5

      Doug N I'm getting 28 to 32 mpg mixed city and highway. we both have the 2.4 in ours. we haven't had any problems with ours. even driving just around town I'm getting 26. we both got the se trim level nothing fancy.

    • @dougn2350
      @dougn2350 7 лет назад +1

      Jeffery Crocker ...I'm looking at the base SE too. The only option I'm adding is the Homelink mirror with compass and built in garage door openers. This is big step up in size and comfort from the Elantra. I'm looking forward to having an adult size car again.

    I still like the 06 to 09 Sonata. The 4 cylinder with the optional 3.3 V6 was a good platform, although they don't have Honda and Toyota longevity, they can last a while and have good performance. My brothers 06 with 3.3 junked out around 260k miles and he didn't baby it.

    Everybody hates the styling... I don't know why though... But of course styling is something that will remain very subjective to everyone. However, I love the new styling! It has a more masculine vibe now and I happen to love how everything is toned down a bit. The previous generation just felt like too much was going on in terms of exterior and interior. I haven't actually got see one in person, but I can't wait.
    I'm also waiting for the redesign of the Elantra.. I'm very curious as to how they're going to change that car up. (I currently own a 2011 Elantra).

    i have read and viewed many reviews for the 2015-2017 sonata's and none regardless of power plant took more the 8.3 seconds to reach 60mph. furthermore they obviously had not tested the eco powerplant or done any research or they would have known not only do you get better fuel economy with but it is faster due to the turbo. with that engine it is on avg .2 of a second faster than the naturally aspirated 2.4L engine to 60mph. in addition you have three drive options regardless of engine choice. pressing the button to select between eco, standard and sport driving modes. unlike most i have used in other models you very much can feel the difference toggling between the selections on the hyundai. i found the sonata to be a surprisingly comfortable, quiet riding vehicle, besides being a well made automobile. IMHO much more so than for example the 2017 fusion with ford's awful cvt we tested a few months back.

    Sonata Eco is much faster with better gas mileage than 2.4L Sonata tested. Autobytel timed 0-60 mph of new Eco model. It got 7.6 sec (about 1.5 sec faster to 60 mph than 2.4 L).

  • @MegaGeorge1948

    I have owned a 2015 Sonata Sport with a 2.4 L GDI for 5 months now. It ran very well with 36+ MPG on the highway @ 70 MPH with plenty of power to spare in, "ECO". But I have found that parts and touch up paint are in very short supply. The Service Adviser said that it is because the car was so new.
    Three weeks ago (2/12/15), the car lost power (check engine light on) and was idling at 1200 RPM when warmed up. The Hyundai tech reset the check engine light and said that he could find no problem. The code was, "camshaft sensor error". But the sensor tested OK. The dealer adviser said that nationally, 3 other Sonatas have had this very same problem (source: Hyundai tech line).
    The problem happened again. But this time he found that the, "bushing" connected to the camshaft sensor was leaking oil internally on the camshaft sensor. They did give me a loaner car, Because they had to keep the car for a week. Because they had to wait for parts to correct this. The car now seems to run well so far. All was repaired under the Hyundai warranty. It took all day to fix once the parts arrived.

      I have an 05 KIA Spectra, a rebadged Hyundai Elantra. I've put 170,000 miles on it and had it since it was 26,000. I find their cars to be incredibly durable. I've put this poor car through hell, and it's still running. Maybe you ended up with a bad model lol

    For all Hyundai Sonata engines, run full synthetic oil with a higher quality oil filter. Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil can be used on the 2.4 Liter engine for those going 15,000 miles per year. For turbo engines, avoid using Mobil 1 Extended Performance oils, because the formula is not compatible with turbo engines and will cause engine damage. Use Mobil 1 with SuperSyn Technology for turbo engines. Synthetic Oils can improve engine performance and optimize fuel economy.

    "Longest Warranty" but many parts are only covered for 36k miles.

    • @GUARDIAN085
      @GUARDIAN085 10 лет назад +2

      It has the longest "Power Train" warranty when comparing milage with years in the USA market (10 year's or 100 ,000 miles max limit[which ever comes first]). One of the top "bumper to bumper" warranties that can also be extended with a dealers optional "Wrap Around" warranty to the 10/100,000 mile limit of the longest warranty which is again that of the Power Train's.
