I test drove one. The seats and steering wheel are pretty incredible in my opinion. Unfortunately I can't afford one with the options I want. Congratulations.
+Tony Lester If your sonata is manufactured after Oct 2015, you can qualify for a free upgrade to the Audio/Video system and receive $400 after completing a survey of the system. You must reside in Dallas, N.J, L.A or Chicago to qualify. Let me know if this works for you. We are limited to just 10 Sonatas for the survey. Thanks, Johan

I'm 6"3 and completely blown away by the spacious interior of my 2015 sonata 2.0t. I also like the quality materials that's in the cabin. My old 2013 toyota avalon limited materials in the cabin seemed cheaper, and didn't have all the features as my sonata. This is my fourth hyundai, and I would definitely recommend any potential buyer to drive a hyundai before you pull the trigger on any other vehicle.

I recently bought a base 2017 Sonata with 46k... It's so comfortable, has the power when it matters, quiet, tons of space, good mpg... I love this car.
I test drove these cars and they each have something that sucks so bad that I wouldn't own one: Mazda6- Unusable armrests. Uncomfortable ride- So uncomfortable that after the test drive, I had that achy, disoriented feeling as if I had just ridden a roller coaster. Toyota Camry- Poor handling and acceleration. Door had to be opened to adjust the seat. Overall stress inducing experience. Honda Accord- Same old poor ride quality. Chevy Malibu- Tech system won't shut the hell up. Poor acceleration. Back legroom and headroom is horrendous. A/C takes forever to cool the cabin. Both the salesman and I were very stressed. Fusion SE- Not as bad as the others, but the Eco engine didn't accelerate well and comparable options to the others put the price out of reach. Altima- Sluggish. Then I drove the Sonata. It left me with nothing to complain about. Nothing. I have decided to hold off for personal reasons, but when I do buy, it will be a Sonata unless I decide to go compact. And if you do your own research on Hyundai's reliability, you will find that the Honda and Toyota salesmen are lying about it.
brad h No car is perfect. When you buy a Hyundai, you're buying a certain brand image. I don't have anything against them as I love their cars, but I know a lot of people who hate them for their past.
Celty Best I have a Mazda 6, even with the smaller engine, it can outperform the Sonata 2.0 sport. I like both (Hyundai and Mazda) cars but the guy doesn't know what he is talking about when it comes to drive concerning the Mazda 6. You should test drive the 6 and see for yourself. It is a very well built Japanese car.
Dennis Xu ... I agree. When I tell people I drive a Hyundai they always say how much they used to suck but now they're much better. But I think they're secretly thinking I'm an idiot. I don't bother bragging about how great my last three Hyundais have been unless they ask. People have their prejudices and they are hard to let go of.
I own the 2017 2.0 Sport and I'm quite impressed. I'm almost at 20K miles, and had no issues whatsoever. The car is relatively quick and quite comfortable. The roominess is impressive, even the EPA calls it a large sedan. Straightforward performance, no fuss, easy on the eyes and relatively efficient if you don't drive it like you stole it (I've seen 35 MPG on the highway drives and about 23 in the city on my daily driving). I did test the Accord before deciding on the Sonata back in Jul-Aug 2017, didn't like the Accord as much. But with Hyundai's discount, it was a no contest. Looking forward to a few more years of happy motoring with this one.
After a year we've had zero problems with our 2015 Sport Limited Turbo. The interior is huge, steering is so easy, and the engine has plenty of get-up-and-go. So far we've gotten up to 35mpg on easy highway driving. Everyone loves the sunroof and heated/cooling seats. Hyundai had the car for a couple of days for the interior/exterior treatment we splurged on, so they gave us a new Altima as a loaner. What an uncomfortably boring car.

I absolutely love my 2017 Sonata SE! The Apple CarPlay makes it that much better to use for GPS. I paid $1,200 to have leather seats installed and bam you wouldn't know it's the base model Sonata, it is equipped with way more features than majority of other brands for a base model! Love it. ☺️

Rented one this weekend - really nice car. Comfortable and well-put together. I hate having to turn it in tomorrow morning. Micah, you make me laugh with your commentary. You should do stand-up, seriously.
My brother has the 6gen sonota so my mom wanted to purchase the newer model shes getting a 2015 with 50 k miles for 17k but this is the limited model with the ultimate package and tech package. This means the car has blind spot monitoring, land departure warning, emergency braking, panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, navigation, rear parking sensors, automatic cruise control, infinity sound system and so much more. This car is a great value try getting these options in your Camry or Accord they either don't have them or your going to be paying 25k+ for a similarly equipped car.
I test drove both the Kia Optima EX and the Hyundai Sonata Sport. I rented the Ford Fusion SE for a trip last week. All three drove great. I'm leaning toward getting the Kia Optima. Even though Kia and Hyundai are "mechanically built" the same way, but some reason I prefer the Kia models more than the Hyundai models.
These cars ride nice and are very comfortable. Even the base 2.4 is smooth with decent pickup and great on the highway. Considering they're selling Sports for $20k or less right now, gods deal.
have a 2017 limited 2.0T sport and know it's a luxury vehicle and now have 9,250 miles on it completely trouble free - it's a great car and looking forward to a 2020.
The oil consumption is the bummer! I have it as a secondary behind my SUV. I was very excited when I got it but got very disappointed to find out how much oil it burns every 900 miles
I'm not a big fan of cars I prefer trucks or full size SUVs but I rented a car to drive to Florida last summer when my truck was in the shop and I was given one of these and I absolutely loved driving it.
I preferred the previous 2011-2014 6th gen Sonata for a while after this version first came out, but after a few years I can say that this gen Sonata is aging much better. I like the current eight gen Sonata as it's currently one of my favorite family sedans, but I still may prefer this seventh gen more. Looks great in red which is the color I want for my future car.
The 1.6 L. ECO will beat the 2.0 L. Turbo off the line 6.7 seconds @ 0-60 sec. Because it has a better power to weight ratio and a quicker shifting 7 speed DCT. Plus the ECO gets an easy 38 MPG highway.
karlitozdestroye Car and Driver Magazine and others tested this car a few months back. The performance numbers are theirs. Put the car in, "Sport Mode" and floor it. The ECO Sonata is lighter than the 2.0. The DCT 7 speed tranny is more mechanically efficient (no torque converter) and shifts faster than the 6 speed auto on the 2.0 turbo. Plus in, "Eco Mode" the ECO Sonata gets better mileage than the 2.4 base engine (38 MPG vs 37MPG).
I just bought this car in silver and I'm six foot two and if I put the seat all the way back I can't reach the wheel lol the most compliments I get is on the roominess and value and quality. It may not be very fancy but I bought this car brand new for 19810 and that is so great to me
I dont understand the hate for the korean car, I mean think back to the first Japanese imports that where coming over here, they were reliable relatively well equipped small cars for their day but people still hated them because they were something different. These new ones are great, i use to own an older 2001 Accent that blew the motor at only 70k but that car and this one aren't even in the same league anymore
Lamb chop honestly it's because Japanese have had a longer time in the American market and most Americans have this stigma about Korean cars that they are cheap/shitty. Hyundai and Kia just don't have the long reputation Japanese cars have and people can't let it go I guess
We're looking for a new family car right now (we have a '97 Chevy Impala and a '97 Rav4 so we're in serious need of an upgrade). We're looking at this car exclusively for the room. We've also been noticing how many Sonatas are on the road. Great review.
Updating the title with a current model year on your videos is misleading as sometimes trims and options change. For example the sport trim loses options by 2017 that are available in 2015.
Another great review from Micah. Love the sonata. However, the Mazda 6 is my favorite car in this segment. Also, did you check the fuel economy figures?. The EPA slapped Hyundai/KIA with a Hefty fine. Because, they were caught overstating on their cars' fuel economy.
The Sonata isn't one of the vehicles with overstated fuel economy though. Plus, all car makers do this to some extent, which is why you should look at the EPA figures, not what they put on stickers. But I do agree, the Mazda6 is by far my favorite in the segment. All they need to do is update the infotainment to the new Mazda3's version, and it would legitimately be a top contender.
I don't think you can really wrong these days in this segment. Everything is so good. Camry, 6, optima, etc. Test drive and see which feels good on bumps and turns and steering feel and merging acceleration. Specs on paper for cars and in dating mean very little.
KBB, how would you guys compare the reliability of Hyundai vehicles to top brands like Toyota and Honda? Also, I just got a Ford Everest (which isn't available in the US). How would you describe Ford in terms of quality and reliability?
I’ve got a 1.6 turbo and a 2.4 non turbo Sonata (both 2017) the turbo is way more fun AND economical (40mpg highway) but the 7 speed dual clutch transmission is a bit jerky at low speeds but excels on the highway. The 2.4 is a more traditional driving car but not as economical.
I may have a disorder because the center left air vent is driving me nuts, I can't taaaaake iiiiit! It's not symmetrical with the bottom half of the dash.
keino111689 I'm not ocd and it sorta bothers me and I'm in El Paso so I can't simply turn it down or off, i'd have a heat stroke. I've just learned to ignore it.
Had this as a rental car for a week. From a passenger perspective, it was alright, quiet, roomy & smooth. However, from a driver perspective, the nicest thing I could say is that it is a disastrous example of Korean engineering.
If your choice is faster 0-60, you can just go buy a used V8 camaro and it'll blow all these cars out of the water at lower price. It's your choice to be ignorant of car features and focus merely on 0-60 to make your argument.
Pedro Pedrosoy Actually almost the entire line of Mazda cars now (and forthcoming) are great values, and smart people already know that. The really stupid people are those that buy a car for its 0-60 time and nothing else.
No, not true about Honda being better in quality. Just google Honda problems and you'll see they aren't as well built as people think. Case in point, 6th gen Accord was a hot mess. Known for their defective transmission (big oops), quarter panel rusting prematurely. My friend bought an 8th gen Accord which burned oil (big no no) which the dealer never fixed under warranty. Oh, she wasn't the only 8th gen owner to experience an engine burning oil. When a car company gives you a particular warranty, that company is backing up their belief on their product. 5 years/ 60,000 miles or 10 years/ 100,000 miles power train warranty? Go with the Hyundai. Case in point on the warranty; Volks Wagon's warranty during the late 90's was 2 years/ 24,000 miles on their Jettas. Why? They knew it would break down soon after. I know number of people who have confirmed this.
Why all these 2015 cars look the same? Trust me, look at the Ford Fusion, Ford Edge, Hyundai Santa Fe, Subaru Legaxy, and the new Camry. Are they running out of idea?
They had me with the last gen and lost me again with this one. Their fluidic sculpture 2.0 theme works well with the genesis but falls flat in my opinion on the sonata
You're not kidding about the cabin space in this car. I sat in one of these at a dealership. I'm 6'7 and it swallowed me up like a whale!
+TheTallMan35 That is actually really comforting information.
was it with or without he sun roof?
Both
I'm 6'7" as and I drive an Altima. Plenty of leg and head room
I'm 6'3 and fit comfortably. Have a ford fusion and feels the same. Main difference is someone fits behind me in the Hyundai lol

Anyone else own a 2011 Sonata? 2011-2013 model years had the best instrument gauge cluster in the entire mid-size car segment.
please make a video on Toyota Premio vs Hyundai sonata
Updating the title with a current model year on your videos is misleading as sometimes trims and options change. For example the sport trim loses options by 2017 that are available in 2015.
This looks exactly like my car same color as well! Gotta love this car there great love my baby!!! 😃
How is it now? I just got one the last August and it has 13000 miles on it. I love it so far
Sonata or Civic? I know they are not in the same class, but according to truecar value, hyundai sonata has a less price than civic.
Ryu Kevin I am trying to make that decision as well!
What is the price of this car
2:05 Cherry Ave, LBC
I definitely want this!!
Honda Accord or Hyundai Sonata??...HELP! :(
UnitedWeStand4EVR go with the Chrysler 200
Sonata
Mazda Six
Warranty on the Sonata wins out.
I don't think you can really wrong these days in this segment. Everything is so good. Camry, 6, optima, etc. Test drive and see which feels good on bumps and turns and steering feel and merging acceleration. Specs on paper for cars and in dating mean very little.
anyone else notice video made in 2014? but yet he have a 2016 car?
Yeah I don't get it
Now it says 2017.
he reviewed the 2015 model, then he changed the title to 2016, and now 2017 because not much has really changed from the 2015
Doing it to up their view counts.
Im going to get this car because of the long drls. Makes it easier for people to spot me at night.
Is anybody not confuse how this came out three years before the actual car came out?
just rented one for a week long road trip...I agree with your review...the downside was massive road noise. ...maybe
not on the higher trims
Take a look at the 2016 Kia Optima, basically the sister car of the Sonata. Not sure if it is quieter, but Kia's are tuned differently.
***** That is true. Tires can make a difference as far as road noise.
just bought a used one with 82,000 miles, ill let yall know how it goes at 100,000 miles
Hyundai was caught lying about mpg. They got fined big time by the EPA.
So how do u review a 2017 sonata in 2014?!?! 😂🤣😂
Warranty is best of it's class.
please make a video on Toyota Premio
So does the ‘17 have push start/stop
How far off will the MPG number be?
How did this video get uploaded in 2014 when this is a 2017 model??? I'm eternally confused
Seriously wtf. How?!
Oh my god!! I was scrolling through the comments just to see if someone mentioned this.
that nigga living in the future, presenting 2017 cars back in 2014
deadass what the fuck
I think that may be OCD you have
9Mehrani8 yeah maybe lol. you see it though, i dnt know how they didn't take care of that.
keino111689 I'm with you there man. I'm OCD as well.
keino111689 I'm not ocd and it sorta bothers me and I'm in El Paso so I can't simply turn it down or off, i'd have a heat stroke. I've just learned to ignore it.
+keino111689 Your pic confused the hell out of me! lol
3.79 for gas?!?! JESUSSS 4:02
I come from the future. Gas in California is now at $6.49 per gallon.
@@disan9135 hello I am from your Future and i would feel like I'm getting a steal if i pay 3.79 for gas now. How times have changed
Why did he remove the Chevrolet Impala?
i don't kmow
+Nam Phan Becuase the Impala is a full sized sedan.
Cartoon Planes in the sky GM is independently ran international company no government involvement
Had this as a rental car for a week. From a passenger perspective, it was alright, quiet, roomy & smooth. However, from a driver perspective, the nicest thing I could say is that it is a disastrous example of Korean engineering.
I want a sonata car 2017.. How can I get one.
Salt on macaroni and cheese?!?! 🤔
My uncle just bought that exact same car
Sonata turbo + premium gas = 8 sec 0-60
Mazda6 + regular gas + $8000 in pocket = 8 sec 0-60
It's your choice.
If your choice is faster 0-60, you can just go buy a used V8 camaro and it'll blow all these cars out of the water at lower price.
It's your choice to be ignorant of car features and focus merely on 0-60 to make your argument.
Actually you don't have to use premium gas in the Sonata its a twin scroll turbo, you can use premium it will just give you better performance.
2015 turbo =7secs, not sure where you got 8, 2014 turbo = 6 secs 4 cyl mazda 6, 8.5 secs
only stupid people buy Mazdas nowadays wonder why they sell less cars than Mazda
Pedro Pedrosoy Actually almost the entire line of Mazda cars now (and forthcoming) are great values, and smart people already know that. The really stupid people are those that buy a car for its 0-60 time and nothing else.
sonata is best
COOL CAR SONATA!
I had that car at 2017
how much?
I have seriousely wonder why Hyundai thought I was cool to tone down backlight design.... I mean really?
great!!
Why does he always change lanes at an intersection?
Which is better?.. The Sonata or the Accord ?
The accord. Get the sonata for the warranty the accord for many generations to come
No, not true about Honda being better in quality.
It says 2017 but it says this video was made in 2014
Stay away from the dual clutch transmission. The Tucson has it and there are lots of problems with it.
They had me with the last gen and lost me again with this one. Their fluidic sculpture 2.0 theme works well with the genesis but falls flat in my opinion on the sonata
+ray britton If you see it in person, it looks much better i think
+jorge romani id prefer to go with the kia optima
