Many people are asking is it worth blah blah but from my experience My mom sends me 10-20 kg package every 6 months once I get puli ulundhu from India because here I don’t find them qualtiy! And with them dresses home made masalas daily calendar sidhha palpodi nattu marundhu kadai soaps, home made shikkai different vathals vadagam some time swami prasadamas these kind of stuffs ! Parents love to this because they feel lonely without us !
Some provision items I don’t find it good quality for my use here ! I have been doing this for last 7-8 yrs and my sis in Canada does the same ! I am building a new home when we get into it next year of course I am planning to get more decor stuffs pooja items and oonjal from India it’s common many people do ! My husband off late is getting cricket bats and other stuffs for his team from India because again quality cost issues here ! It’s convenience and individual preferences! We are not going to spend 1000$ every month on this it’s just 6 months once or sometimes it’s just one time and it’s worth more than spending it in casinos or other fancy stuffs! More than money we keep our parents connected and engaged! And one way for us to get connected with home !

Sister even I'm living in abroad but here cargo charges more for taking from India so we better buy all stuffs from the stores itself and dresses only when we go India buy all in bulk and come though these countries near by India or inside Asia only but I have seen many sending cargoes for America, Canada etc even my friends in Mexico say so.. wanted to know whether the cargo charges are less for Western countries or what??
You are all lucky , I don't have parents. So I never get gifts from India,. Enjoy dear. It's worth it from India.

We have never tried this parcel service. Tell me something, if this all costs 82k INR, ie 1k USD, is it still worth it? I mean are you saving money net net? We get everything here in US also right? and sarees we can bring when we go because airlines allow 2 suitcases..Just trying to understand the benefits..let me know!
Let me try to explain as I do the same kind of stuff, Puli and some other provision items I don’t find quality here ! I have never used puli from here because I don’t like it and when my mom came here for first time in 2013 she told me this puli is bad and of course she is not going to spend 1000$ every month it’s 6 months once or yearly once ! You might be affordable to travel every year once to india and try to get clothing and other stuffs! While there are people like me stuck up with work and visa issues who only go to India 3 years or 5 years once so how do we get Indian clothes if we plus/minus our size !? I think she got to new home her mom is sending 100 kg package worth 80k inr packages if it’s routine it will hardly come around 10-15k INR six months once so it isn’t waste of money and it’s your choice !
