Oh wow! There must have been some killer stuff if what you found was still there. You found very cool records. I don't collect 45's but I probably would have looked through those. 🤗Take care.
One of my all time favorites, James Gang Rides Again. I'm not having much luck at garage/yard/estate sales lately. Thanks for sharing, Bob. Have a good week.
Add happily take any one of those albums you picked up at that sale. There isn't a bad one in the bunch. And for me personally that rubber soul disc is the top of the heat. I agree with you I think that is the best Beatles album. I'm outside now, by man is trying to learn drive my car right now and that bass line is killer.
I moved from Seattle to Taylor county in 2011. The three or so years i was "waiting to move here " (I'm in IT. It took a while to find work), we hit estate sales for fun. I would buy vinyl by the box. Typically 50-75 or a hundred albums for between five and ten bucks. I ended up with around 4,000 records. Before i moved,i sorted out th "Romantic strings" type of stuff and gave it ot goodeill. This culled the collection by about 2,000. Counting what I already had it left me with about 3,500. Also, that leaves me with quite a few dupes of bands like Barry Maniow and Linda Ronstadt, and several copies of TJB's Whipped cream...one in pristene mono. But that was then. This is now. That particular party is over. BTW, i also picked up several hundred pre-recorded cassettes as well as some NOS bricks of blanks for a total outlay of around six bucks. And a Nakamichi 505 for $5, and quite a few turntables, never paying over $30. I sold them all except one. I kept the Yamaha PF-50 as my only automatic TT. Estate and garage sales are terrible in rural Kentucky and i believe i know why: Seattle was a more affluent area, so people prefer new stuff, so there is not as good a market for used stuff. And if they DO try to sell at a garage or estate sale, they have to "price to sell" . It means you're going to get a lot of new practically stuff for pennies on the dollar. One example: i got a stand thatcinverts any bike to anexercise bike. Brand new condition, and a currently available model at the time for $150. Garage sale price: $2. Two dollars. I used it for years. Put in Kentucky a lot of people but most of their stuff at a state and garage sales. Because of all the consumer competition, it's not unusual to find atoms that are being sold for has Metro more than they were new.
Nice score Bob, I picked up a German LZ II last week that has is an RL pressing on side 1 but not on side 2. It does not have "RL" in the deadwax, but it IS an RL plate, all I had to do was play it and it was obvious.
Nice score, I have a lot of German pressings that I picked up when I was in the Army… I get the feeling you were probably picking an older Vets collection as well.
I’ve been getting lucky here lately.. I learned from PBTHAL if you see a good record, even if it’s one you have. Pull the record out and check out what it is!
my issue with estate and yard sales is when you get there early and the seller decided to sell the entire collection to one person before the sale even started and don't update whatever listing they have. I showed up a few hours into what looked like a picked over estate sale once and found some promo chocolate watchband 45s that fell behind a shelf, so even late in the day you can still sometimes find some gems
Hey Bob, I would like to recommend a future vid with you doing a vinyl haul review at Jeffery Lee Pucket’s place and also focus on his gear, especially his Clearaudio turntable, cartridge etc. I am curious to hear his take on why he bought the TT. Clearaudio makes great products, but a little pricey except for their “Concept” model. Just a thought on my part because you two are great working together as a team. I’m sure your viewers would appreciate it too. Best! PS - one of my 3 TTs is a VPI Scout 1.1
I hear you on the Beatles. I just bought a small collection on Marketplace and the lady was trying to tell me a Japanese SGT Peppers with flag OBI was an OG on red vinyl worth $375. Ugh.
Here's my advice to any record collector's out there that stress over their collections and devote countless hours, and dollars, getting it just right: go to some estate sales and watch the next generation of collectors pick over some departed soul's precious collection with their grubby hands. It really puts the futility of it all into focus - so calm down.
I would politely disagree. We are alive and should enjoy our hobbies. We all have to find meaning in life where we can. Some of us find meaning in collecting records 🤷
You meant to say the vinyl WAS super clean BEFORE you put your grubby, greasy fingerprints all over it. Even though the records are yours & not mine I find myself cringing when I see people like you touching the playing surface of a record. Stop doing that.
@@BOBBRADLEYCHANNEL You can "lol" all you want, mate, but I'll tell you this - no serious record collector would be so disrespectful & careless as to touch the playing surface of a record. Having seen this I most certainly wouldn't allow you anywhere near my own collection. Have you got another "lol" for me, then? 😕
@@BOBBRADLEYCHANNEL At least I know how to handle vinyl records, my man, which is obviously more than you know. WHY is it NOT blatantly obvious to you that the playing surface of a record should NOT be touched by bare fingers? If you MUST handle records like that then at least wear a pair of cotton gloves. FFS.

Thanks Ralph!
Also seeing the aeroplane box set back there inspired me to drop the hammer on it, I’m getting that now
Noice!
Estate sales have changed for sure! Subscribed!
Thanks Doc!

Its crazy how big of discrepancies there are between value of collectors and perceived value of as you so lovingly put them “scavengers” haha

Loved the term "scavengers". I have been to many estate sales and that term would describe most.
Wooof! Some of those prices! You did good Bob 🤘🏻

Nice! You got the mastering and the expert pressing of the Germans. That’s a win win!
I happened across a yard sale with the same results. High prices on some things. Some albums that were on my want list.
Nice score, I have a lot of German pressings that I picked up when I was in the Army… I get the feeling you were probably picking an older Vets collection as well.
It’s quite possible.
Nice finds. Not everyday you can find UK or German pressings at an estate sale!

@@BOBBRADLEYCHANNEL Woo-hoo!
Those prices show that they are not worth it.
10$ for a EX German pressing of zeppelin II should bring a smile to anyone dude
Love those records bro!!! Keep on keeping man!!! ❤
Cheers!
Bob, Tom Port swears that HTM late 1970’s UK stereo pressing of The Beatles ‘Rubber Soul’ is a WHITE HOT STAMPER! Frank
It sounds really nice for sure . I heard him say that as well and I couldn’t help but to let that influence me to some degree 🤪
I used to do really good at estate & tag sales, almost always records were a buck. Bought thousands thru years, I couldn’t believe those prices!❤
I was hoping for that kind of pricing. I think they were so worried someone might get over on them, that most will end up in the donation pile 🫤…
Professor…Is that James Gang one of the rare early versions including Bolero in the side one medley??
I like that Smashing Pumpkins Cd set behind ya man.

Sounds like Ricky Stenhouse got there early lol lol

That’s insane!
Sometimes the estate sales offer remarkably inexpensive prices & failing that you can generally negotiate with the sellers. I enjoy them.
I want that Bo Diddly record
I remember the days when records were the last items to sell , but now you are left with crumbs from the Flipping Vultures.
Facts
Putting those price stickers on the LP covers sucks
For sure .
Those UK's always sound better than the US. We sucked at mastering those mop tops.
I prefer that UK Zep 2 over the RL.
Fighting over records. Oy vey 😵💫😆
Right!
Man too bad you missed the fist fight!
At some point I’m sure someone who was there will at least give me the details …

Nice scores but when showing those kind of ridiculously high sticker prices (for an estate sale) you could've mentioned what you paid.
Sorry, I guess as you only missed the first couple. Those are great prices especially for the condition
That's it?
For now 😏
