I got into UH after hearing July Morning (in the early 80s) on the radio. Must have several copies of most of their 70s albums, all on Bronze unfortunately (have all except Return to Fantasy). I bought High and Mighty from Our Price, still sealed in 1982. Good album. The first one I got was 'Best of Uriah Heep' on Bronze, from early 80s.

The first live band i ever saw in 1971 at Walthamstow Tech. Much respect to Mick Box for carrying the flame all these years. Look at Yourself for me remains my favourite - Shadows of Grief is an absolute classic.

I have been buying records for 50 years and have over 6000 records, I love all kinds of music from jazz, soul, funk, indie, disco, rock, AOR and Latin. To my shame although I have been aware of Uriah Heep for 45 years or so I have never knowingly heard a single track. Something I will rectify for sure. Cheers Jake and I look forward to taking part in the WhatsApp group.

Nice collection! Uriah Heep is one of my favorite bands all way back from 1977 when I started listen to heavy rock.

Hi Jake. Great video. I've had a look at your USSR pressing of Innocent Victim. The label roughly translates as Melody, founded in 1964. They pressed quite a few classic rock records including some by Deep Purple, Rainbow, Led Zeppelin and Queen.

Great video mate, and an impressive collection if i must say so myself. You do have quite a lot of missing albums, but then you do have the best and that's what counts. I first came across Heep when my cousin lent me Demons And Wizards ( their best album ) and have been a fan ever since. I did have first presses of everything they released from 1975 to 1982, sadly they're all gone now, although i do have them on cd. I wish i had the space to collect their stuff on vinyl but sadly i don't so it's CDs for me. I've been collecting the CD digipacs of the early albums but they seem to stop around ' The Magician's Birthday ' I've yet to see Sweet Freedom, Wonderworld, or Uriah Heep Live so don't know if they've ever been released. I actually bought Salisbury last weekend. I was also lucky enough to see them live 3 or 4 times during the mid 70s, I saw them on their Return To Fantasy Tour, the Firefly tour, and their Innocent Victim tour, i last saw them around 2000. I don't know if you have, or have heard Ken Hensley's solo stuff, especially his first two albums 'Proud Words On Dusty Shelf ' and 'Eager To Please' but do yourself a favour and buy them, honestly you won't be disappointed, Proud Words On A Dusty Shelf is nothing short of brilliant, it's then that you'll realise why Uriah Heeps albums with Ken Hensley were classics. Nothing they released after Ken left came close to the albums he helped write.

Great video, but I have to correct you: all Uriah Heep studio albums came out on vinyl. Myself, I’m only missing ‘Sea Of Light’, but it is there. It’s only very expensive when one pops up.

fantastic collection. I have all the early releases up to Innocent Victim, and then only Living the Dream (on CD sadly) and Chaos and Colour. These last 2 are fantastic albums - as good as their early recordings to my ears 🙂
I saw them live (in Swansea) on the 10th anniversary Conquest tour, and again in 2022. I can't remember much about that first show, other than that Girlsschool were the support. Chris Slade also did a PA at the local music shop so I bunked off school to go and see him! But in 2022 they really rocked! They did nearly 3 hours with an acoustic set to open and then a full on rocking set to close. I would hope they tour (headline) again soon.

Yes Melodia was one of the finest record labels on the classical music market. Up there with Decca, Philips, Deutsche Grammophon in the early stereo years. Fab collection.

Hello and thanks for your videos ! Yes, that "weird" version is from russia and is written as:" Melodija" - the R backwards means ja , but melodia is the meaning ... I have seen Peter Gabriel album also released in russia , forgot which one i have seen. Probably not sung in russian language ...!!

I have some Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd on the Melodia label.Cheap, thick paper non gatefold covers. The artist gets no money from these ‘bootlegs’,goes to the Russian coffers.I have a double compilation from the early 70s called Downunder which the band released when they toured here. They were quite popular here then.
