My passport is stamped 11th September (but NOT 2001), the year I went to live in New York. I went out with an Irish/American cop while I was there. I love this song, but it also makes me sad. It was a sad December day when my poor old Dad died prematurely, and so some of the lines of the song remind me of that. The first things I saw from the aeroplane were the Statue of Liberty, and the Twin Towers, which the pilot pointed out. Great song, which was number 1 in the charts in Ireland.
That song was dedicated to the members of the NYPD Pipe band of which I was proud to be a member of. Well done Lad's. Great friends.
Amazing NYPD band, thank you so much from Co Roscommon, Ireland 🇮🇪
There just no band like the tones ❤
So with you my friend 🇨🇮🌻❤

The One And Only Wolftones
I'm not surprised it was played over and over as an anthem during the tragic search for comrades in the aftermath of 9/11.
