I mostly agree with this, but its somewhat debatable, if you are an average person who just wants to record they're own videos for themselves the AKASO is probably better but if you want to get into content creation the GoPro would make your shots look better and more vibrant therefore stand out to the audience a bit more. Is it worth x3 the price probably not but over time the price should fall to a respectable range.
I think the audio from the built-in mic is what would set these apart. Plus the stabilization on the GoPro is a bit better (and the color out of the camera--the other one looks a little washed out) and for example at 3:00 you can see more cloud detail from the GoPro. I mean I'm surprised for $150, that camera doesn't do too bad, and I've seen worse. But, honestly, if it was me, if I couldn't afford a Hero 9, I'd probably still opt for an older GoPro Hero Black edition (maybe a 7 or 8, or one used) over a $150 knock-off brand. The other thing I think were they would stand apart is durability. I do like how Akaso even "stole" the box design and similar layout as the GoPro. One thing i think you should add to these comparisons is torture test, because many of them will get wet, dropped, dragged, etc. I think if you can do that, then it would be a more rounded review, other than just feature comparisons, which is helpful but durability especially for action cams, is also important. Even if the Akaso can come close to the GoPro in recording specs and overall features, if it shatters the first time it hits the ground, then for many people, it will be a no-go.
I kinda like it better when the image stabilization is good enough rather than too good. I want my bike ride to look a little bumpy rather than I’m riding on a floating hover bike
Great video comparison. I got the 4K Akaso 7000 and while Akaso has not been able to match the colors of the GoPro, the value is insane. Maybe on your next comparison outing it would be interesting to see if you can match the color and contrast in post.
I watched on a 27" monitor. The Akaso Brave has higher resolution/sharpness than GoPro as I can see more facial features and details, and finer details in the houses and trees/leaves when you're WALKING. When scooting around, the GoPro wins hands down. Yes, Akaso's color is faint/washed out but that can be corrected with a firmware release, I'm sure.
Hello Alex, I don't agree, look at the road when he rides the scooter, with the Akaso the road has no detail while with the Gopro you can see all the granularity of the road. And on his face, I see a Hero 9 that shows more details.

Humm .... why you don't record with akaso in 1080p with stabilisation ON ?
i just bought the akaso brave7 and yes the audio isnt great its not near as bad as this test shows maybe they did an update?
Hey! Have You tested Akaso under the salt (sea) water without extra waterproof housing?
not sure if you have one yet, but can you do a comparison with Brave 7 vs Osmo action? I'm a few clicks away from upgrading to Osmo action from Brave 7 Le
Can Akaso be used as webcam?
6:52 In what way(s) is 1/4-20 is better than folding fingers on an action cam? I thought the fingers are stronger especially in an action-packed environment.
Definitely yes you're right for certain action sports. For the action shots that I do, I found the quarter-twenty is faster and more universal with all my mounting systems, side-by-side rigs, other camera gear, etc.
Agreed the universal appeal and flexibility make it worth it.
i recently bought a vantop moment 4 and got it for 60 bucks and comes with a ton of accessories. though the quality sucked I was very impressed for what i got for the price.
