Nice job! I just bought this camera in 2024 and they included a c connector along with the micro connector. Thanks for the video which still relevant 4 years after!
Greg, I thank you for your professional, informative and very detailed reviews! Thanks to your reviews I have just purchased my first AKASO camera. I’m starting with the EK-7000 for now, but I will move up to the more advanced models! I have DSLR’s (Canon & Olympus) and a camcorder, but this is my first action camera and I can’t wait to receive it and take it for a spin! As a new subscriber, I will browse through your past videos in order to get up to speed on the AKASO brand. I’m glad that I didn’t shell out the extra money for a GO-PRO! Thank you again.

That's unfortunate. I've had pretty much used all the current Akaso lineup and the only one that I had issues with was the V50 Elite. If you can afford a GoPro, OSMO or Insta360 style camera then you should do that, as they are definitely higher quality cameras. But if on a budget, for most, these do just fine. At least that's my experience.
Im a bit late but , but l have the 7... you cannot have image stabalisation on in any mode when the fish eye correction is on .. The 4k with I.S on is cropped and then resampled back up to 4k .. 2k60 is the highest setting that supports I.S native. If you view through the camera app you can see all this happening in realtime as you alter settings (there is no access to IS or lens correction in the app though..you have to disconnect to alter these settings ..(all smoke and mirrors)
Hey Cruisn I purchased the Akao V50x on your recommendation and it's been a great Camera. Looking at adding a second camera and am considering the Brave 7 LE . Use the V50x mainly for off road Motorcycling so the 4k 30fps and the image stabilization of the V50x is most important. Aside from the obvious addition of the waterproofing re there any other upgrades/downgrades from the V50x to the Brave 7 LE? Thanks!
Hope it answered any questions you may have had. Will be doing some follow up videos, so be sure to ask any questions that we may be able to answer in those videos.

Pretty good and friendly review thank you so much. This camera looks great for the price. The microphone seems to be unusable in windy conditions, did you try it with your motorbike ? Is it good?
video wise it works great on the bike, but since it has no external mic support its no good for audio. Its the only real downfall of this camera. Would have been such a great little camera if they would have included mic support!
Hi Greg, Really appreciate your honest and impartial reviews. I'm looking to purchase a couple of Akaso cameras for sea fishing videos (fixed tripod and chest cam). I'm interested in the EK7000 and the Brave 7 LE. Can you advise on the best replacement batteries for both? A typical night session could be 5 hours so I will need probably 5 of each battery. Thanks for the great review! But I'm still not sure whether to buy this camera or just the DJI Osmo Mobile 4 Gimbal to use with my smartphone. What do you recommend?
it really depends on if you are going to use this as an actual action cam. If so then get this, but if you are just wanting to use this like a standard camera, get a gimbal.
Sounds like a keeper ! I am looking for an action cam for my moto vlog but with this price point I may get two ! Just need to see your review about external mic
So ill get right to the point. Doesnt look like it has any external mic support. If you are looking at a camera for motovlogging then the Brave 6 Plus is the one from Akaso that I would recommend... For now.
If that’s the case you’re right mainly because the Brave 6 plus has the same stabilization firmware (2.0 6 axis) It is an a shame that Akaso did great job with the 7 LE but only went 90% of the way. An external mic option or input is a must if you ask me. Keep the rubber side down my friend

Is this camera available in Canada ? The AkasoTech site points to Amazon.com but this model can't be shipped to Canada. Thanks for the great review !!!
Hi my friend !! Congratulations for your super videos ! I need your unique help about my choice . I need a low budget action cam for internal youtube videos ( fixed cam ) . How is the better choice ?
From Akaso I would say the Brave 6 Plus. But the New Brave 7 (not LE) will be out soon. So that may be high on the list. But as of now id go with the Brave 6 Plus.
No. Akaso has stated that the 7 LE has no external mic support. The Brave 7 is coming out soon and will have external mic support, so we are excited to get our hands on that one.
It seemed with image stabilization off, the background showed more movement but your head remained steady. Though maybe it was because there wasn't as much walking shots with the IS turned off to compare with. But it was a distinct impression your head was bouncing around against a steady background with IS on 18:07, vs the background bouncing around with a steady face with IS off 18:58. May be because you were holding the camera in a consistent position relative to your head, so the jouncing around didn't need stabilization.
So I just bought the 7LE, and it works fine, with the strange issue that it's apparently not able to play back video on camera at any other speed than 1x. Does no one ever look at recorded clips on the camera and instead only view them after offloading them? I haven't seen any reviews noting this, so I'm wondering if the firmware I've got is different from the one a year ago, when all the reviews were done.
@@gregtoope thank you for the reply....and after watching your review I went ahead and order one last nite from Akaso direct....i may regret the decision...because im sure shortly the Brave 7 will be released...but the price from Akaso was too good to turn down....thanks again...oh....ima subscriber to your channel....👍👍

Cruisn Canada I’ll keep my eye out for it to show up there. Thanks!
can you change the video iso settings in this camera?
You said the price out loud..I got in trouble..lol
I interest to buy Akazo Brave 7, but in indonesian the product not available...help please mister for your recomended, thank you🙏🙏
Hi, good job sir! I've been watching some of your akaso's products reviews its give us idea and help us to choose which action camera should we buy and not so expensive i like that akaso brave 7 le and i am trying to purchase it in Amazon but it says that they couldn't deliver it here in united arab emirates do you have any idea how can i get it?
you may have to contact akaso directly to see what the options are.
Get on ebay
Weather-proof without case at that price? Definately interested. If external mic works for motovlogging I'm in.
Exactly. Will hopefully be testing it later this week!
hey man do you have any Ideas about upgrading the battery? Im a cyclist and my usual rides last about 2 hours. I have been shooting @ 720 but the quality Stinks! I would appreciate any Ideas you could give me!
i just usually carry multiple batteries.
@@gregtoope thats true! but its hard while riding maybe I should change video quality?
@@KirkCColon-xi4fn i think it can charge whilst in use. maybe have a power bank in your pocket and a cable from the camera to your pocket to keep charging whilst in use.
@@truthseeker6804 hey thaks for the idea but Cycling is about saving weight. Besides the damn thig fell off the bike yesterday!
@@KirkCColon-xi4fn sorry about that. I've got the osmo action and an akaso and both batteries are equally bad. I was just out recording some hours ago with the osmo and the battery went low and the camera shutdown and I didn't know. I've lost about 10 minutes video.
I'm ordering extra batteries. You can do the same. That's really the only way or find a way to strap a lightweight power bank somewhere.
it's a bit muffled on the mic im looking for one that i can take good photoes, rather than have to keep stopping my gopro to takes pics u got any advice.
How do i view my video on a laptop or iphone? I’m new to these little cameras? Do i need to take the memory card out every time?
You can use the Akaso App on your smartphone to view the footage but on a computer you have to import from the SD card.
I’m confused! What should I bought? The brave 6 plus or 7LE? Will please someone help me? TIA. Mwa
if you need external mic support then get the 6 Plus if not then the 7LE.
Cruisn Canada huhu. I’m a fan. Thank you for the reply sir.
@@marxbagona You are most welcome. thanks for watching! Much appreciated.
Hi I motovlog amd consider purchasing one. Does it work with an external mic?
No. But they are releasing a Brave 7 soon. And that one will support external mics. Check out Akaso’s site for more info.
Which is the best camera for motovlog? From akaso brand ?
From Akaso I would say the Brave 6 Plus. But the New Brave 7 (not LE) will be out soon. So that may be high on the list. But as of now id go with the Brave 6 Plus.
Can you compare it to the v50 pro se?
check out my other video, it may help with any comparison questions. ruclips.net/video/hTdrzNt_fJ8/видео.html
I couldn’t find your other video, I may have over looked it. Did the external mic work on the akaso brace 7 le. Thanks
No. Akaso has stated that the 7 LE has no external mic support. The Brave 7 is coming out soon and will have external mic support, so we are excited to get our hands on that one.
@@gregtoope Thanks for the info. That was my choice for a camera to start making more RUclips videos. Now it’s back to the drawing board. Lol
I ordered wt an external mic an water proff cam up to 131 feet(if I remember) an still aces
This is the best review I have seen on the Akaso 7LE....well done and thank you.
Oh btw...did you ever get the external mic thing worked out
Sadly this camera does not support an external mic. The new Brace 7 (non LE) will have external mic support. Hopefully coming out soon.
Would you do an akaso brave 7 le vs apeman a87 comparison
I should be able to do that. Have to wait until our lock down is over though!
@@gregtoope that would be awesome
@@WoodsUnknown hopefully soon.
