Thanks Wayne for letting me manage your RUclips channel for the last two years.
Well a couple of thoughts. 1st pop the hood . 2nd , tape tape tape . No reason to make more work for your self . 3rd , do away with hand sanding. Get 3 in 3m discs . Use a drill and do it dry . Only wet sand on the final 3000 by hand. 4th , get a 3 inch 3m waffle pad for the drill . Use 3m plastic polish. Glass cleaner, alcohol free . Lastly I use megs headlight spray coating.
For what it's worth, I buy the large sheets of sandpaper and assemble kits with paper that I've pre-cut with a full range of my preferred grit levels. Paper is cut to accommodate the backing foam block I use for my prefered method of hand sanding. When I have headlights to restore, I just grab an envelope and I have fresh, complete assortment of new sandpaper ready to go. Saves time at the job and wastes no sandpaper.
Fill a spray bottle with water instead of a bucket. If you have a 3 inch polisher it works better. YOU CAN WORK FASTER. You the man Hunter! JS

I love your work bro I been following you for awhile now headlight restoration is amazing I start off with a 1000 2000 1500 if I need to adjust I do do I always coat with creamic coating 💯
How long does it last

Would a glass coating work or is it not good for plastic
Whats that coating brand you put on the headlights, again?
When I do headlights I clear them again so they can last years compared to months or just one year.
Get cerakote headlight restoration kit way better
I just finish it up with headlight film and call it a day.
No worries about doing it again just replace the film.
You could also clear after. But is not something i recommend to mobile detailers, since you are out ik the open.
@@kesman9381 yeah that clear seems to get cloudy or flake off over time.
I guess that would keep you in work to redo it.
@@scamchan If it gets cloudy ör flakes of you have done it wrong. It should be staying nice and clear.
I suggest you watch a few video’s about it including the clear painting.

No way some clear coat gonna last for years of abuse to the elements like clear film would.
Have you seen videos of clear coat on cars peeling flaking off?
There is a reason glass headlights don't need to be restored.
@@scamchan I mean clear on your paint holds up right, so why not on plastics. But you are right, film is easier, cheaper and “better”.

Mainly a machine way:
1000 wet by hand (400 if you got a lot of clear, then follow up with 1000)
1000 dry trizact on a battery drill
2000 dry trizact on a battery drill
3000 dry trizact on a battery drill
Heavy cut + hard sponge
Degrease
Apply coating
=
Flawless..! No marks, no swirls 👌👌👌
