Absolutely loved watching this video, I am due to have a planned c-section 29th August and found this has covered everything I wanted to know. Great to hear a real story and not just basics from the midwives. Liked the way you added about looking after your toddler as well as I have a little boy who will be 2 years and 2 months when we have our twins xx
Thank you. I watched both of your C section videos and found them very reassuring and honest. I am booked in to have an elective c-section operation next week. So am pleased to have found someone being so positive and honest about their experience. 🙏🙏
I haven't had an csection but I still have that shelf. I think mine is from having three big babies back to back. Glad to hear you're feeling better. Marcus is so cute and you're looking so good for being 6 weeks pp. You're superwoman 💓
Great video, I’ve had one c section and booked for my election soon. Regarding the driving, check with you car insurer as my insurer told me they won’t cover me before 6 weeks postpartum. Thanks for sharing x
I have had 2 emergency sections. My youngest is now 10 and my stomach still looks like I,have a shelf. Support underwear is my best friend 😖😖. I just keep telling myself I wouldn't have my boys if I didn't go through it so it was all worth it. But remember you are only 6wks pp. So really don't put pressure on yourself to get back in shape xx.
Thanks so much for posting this! Please keep doing updates on this topic as I’m going in for planned a c-section after an emergency at 34 weeks with my twins. But I’m your fan in Australia 🇦🇺 still great to hear your experience!!
So glad you liked it! I have a few more videos on it already - there’s links in the description if you fancy watching them! Good luck for your section 😀❤️
Super helpful video! I’ve had a previous emergency section but am nervous about the recovery this time around with a 2 year old! We’re trying to put some things into place now with not lifting him up the stairs etc to get him used to it but this is really reassuring that things should work out fine. You’re looking so well 💗 xx
As always with the section videos very helpful x I knew the scar was low down but I guess I didn't realize how long the scar is..but to be honest I would never get my tummy or lower than that out anyway, It's still made me open my eyes to the planned section route if we decide on baby no2 .... I can't mentally go through a Labour or induced labour again ! You have done so well x
Hi Eilidh. If you plan to have more little ones will you continue with elective sections? Are you concerned about limitations on number of kids recommended to be born by section. Im awaiting results of a rare skin condition which may mean i will have to have a c section for a first child and thereafter in the future (havent yet started my family but in the near future). As this is daunting to me your frank and open explanation of your experience has put me somewhat at ease.
You look fantastic and 6weeks is still very soon after your opp give yourself time your tummy will settle, you are doing a great job and your little boys are adorable I'm due my second baby in march and feel more nervous about this section even though its planned I really dread the thought of having to leave my little boy aged 2 but has to be done 😊
Aww I can imagine being nervous the second time too but it’ll be totally fine! Oliver handled being away from me so much better than I thought and was justso excited to see the baby! Good luck!xx
You can shower as soon as you’re not numb anymore. There’s a waterproof sticker over the wound for the first few days, after that you can continue to shower. Its uncomfortable moving about but you can still do it x
I think you look amazing Hun your recovery has went well. Embrace the shelf 😂 I’m 7 months pp with Grayson and I still have the shelf and lots of stretch marks thank god for high waisted jeans 😂💕💕
I’m Holland they send u home after 24 hours. It’s been horrible, although I have carers at home until Thursday which is exactly one week , 2 days after the surgery. I’m still very sore, I have that catheter pain, back pain and since today shoulder pain. I can’t for the pain to go away 😭
At what stage has your midwife started talking to your about c- section? I am nearly 20 weeks now and on our first appointment I have said I want c- section, but since than she never talked about it. when shall I chase her?
I asked at my first appointment (9/10 weeks) and was referred to the hospital within a few weeks. I would bring it up again and ask what progress has been made so far xx
I was the same, I mentioned it at the booking appointment then the next time I saw her was 16 weeks so mentioned it again. She said she’d refer me after 22 weeks. Said it again then so I now have a consultant appointment for 29 weeks. I think they got the idea that I wasn’t giving up 😂 Hope you’re getting somewhere with it

How long after c section is it ok to shower? I would want to still keep clean regularly but woud worry that shower and bending would cause pain
