No, basic features like online usage and copying a game save from one console to another should not be paywalled.
If online was free the servers would be constantly ddossed like they were previously
Avid gamer here who has had Game Pass and migrated over to the middle tier PS+ sub. It’s more expensive and doesn’t have as many good games as Game Pass. Sony needs to figure this out because I do love the PS5 hardware a lot!

Honestly, I only have my PS+ so I can play online, but with me playing more and more 1P games, I'm really considering not renewing it. Not to mention, the "free" monthly games have not really been that exciting or notable in the past several months. 😔
I think the premium tier used to be a really good deal it wasn’t ridiculously expensive and as someone who can take 3-4 months to finish a game I didn’t really care too much about the depth of their selection because there were only so many games I could possibly play. Not sure if I want to keep it if the price is just going to go up and the selection doesn’t really get any better though.

Same service with a price increase is not good for customers. At least sony should offer gamers to access ps+ without a console that would be good.

I pay it with a friend, that way it doesn't feel sooo expensive. We pay the extra plan because of the catalogue and to be able to play online. The deluxe plan doesn't worth it, it only contains old videogames from previous sony consoles, of course, maybe it is worth it if you REALLY like them. In my opinion, the catalogue is ok, I'd love them to add more sony exclusives.

I used to love PlayStation, I bought around 1000 digital games over the years and have 187 platinum trophies. I also have a series X and game pass ultimate is definitely a better deal and much cheaper for the consumer, because Game Pass ultimate can be totally free when you use your Microsoft rewards points to pay for the subscription every month. I have not paid for Game Pass ultimate in over a year, this free games and a free subscription. Unbeatable value for the consumer.
I personally think it's about Rights to the older games because some of the companies either closed or sold the Rights to the games. So getting the other games is a test of patience.
Compared to Xbox Game Pass, the price is just too dang high at this point for what they want to offer. Them upping the prices is such an utter mistake and locking the most necessary features online multiplayer and cloud saves along with allowing no way to copy PS5 saves to a USB drive is as outdated as it has been scummy and greedy. It's just an anti-consumer filled service all around a decade in the making after the PS4 launched..

I am fortunate enough to have both and GamePass wins hands down as Sony has a HUGE back catalogue that they don’t seem to be able to fix to work on the PS5. I’m sorry if they figured out how to put PS1 and PS2 on the PS3 but can only use PS4 games on PS5. Nah

No and yes. I have premium, I did not sign up for it, I had plus and extra, and was given premium, when they merged. I pay monthly, and have not noticed a price increase. I do download monthly games, and play some classics. My main use is the demos or trials. I miss the days of Jsm Packs or demos on discs from magazines.
Comparing Plus to Game Pass is like comparing boxers to briefs. It’s a personal taste. Xbox has new games and stuff, but they are Xbox games. Sony has my favorites. Only have an xbox to play dead rising 3 and som 360 titles from time to time. my ps5 is my main system, except for my switch, to play Mario games.
I keep buying plus, and have been disappointed, but still have it. I don’t play online much, but keep it for the trials and new games. I am a fan of physical, so I have purchased the disc of many games, too.
I don’t see the “value added benefits” so I just decided to not renew it. I had premium then essentials… now I have none and noticed I didn’t really need it. Raising pricing was the dealbreaker in all honestly.
Maybe if we could download ps3 games it would be worth getting again.

There should only be a subscription to access a library of games with other benefits but never to lock online multiplayer and cloud saves behind a paywall. I got tired of all these console BS and switched to PC. You save so much money in the long run. I used to pay for the online subscription for Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo. I’m free now 😌 PS plus essential is now $80. Xbox tried to charge $120 but failed (I’m sure they’ll try again). Nintendo is $35. Ain’t no way.

Nobody cares about movies we have other cheaper option for that and it wasn't even offered in deluxe category why should we pay extra money then and also there is no cloud gaming here so why are we paying more money for absolutely nothing new benefits

@@tfppodcasts no I had ps plus deluxe because it had darksider duology in there it expired on December 20 and since there was no discount that I could use at the time I don't have any subscription so the price increase is still not justified specially in country where there is no cloud aka no premium just deluxe

Gamepass all the way, The only reason to even own a ps5 is for their exclusives, since there are no recent ones in ps+ monthly sub, there's no point buying it for me at all.
Xbox puts their exclusives on day one, that's what i'm happy to pay for and support, greedy sony is not putting exclusives not even 2-3 years after their release, f that.
Trash monthly games new price off subscription relatively small selection of great titles ps5 was a failure in my eyes you got more bang for your buck on all previous ps systems
