But, as the other repliers before me have mentioned, there are ways to get a similar tone, and also Ichika is using a guitar with humbuckers in this video.

Be Gö yeah dude, even if you look at his older iphone vids his tapping is very precise. In this vid it probably got wAAay cleaner because of the mixing and mastering and whatnot
The tone is a combo of digital amp modeling that lets you do things analogs can't, the in between positions on a guitar (look up 'strat quack', found in lots of Dire Straits stuff), and I guess a portion of it is the supernatural playing that comes from being by possessed by the Ghost of Shredding Past. Which would by the way be a cool song name..

I personally prefer Ichika’s playing and music miles over Henson’s because I feel like Ichika writes music that goes beyond just being extremely talented. Virtuosos are almost never as popular as other musicians because the talent often masks the genuine aspect of the music. Nitosama blends his talent and songwriting abilities to create awe-inspiring pieces that still have genuine emotional appeal. He is so amazing not because he is a talented guitarist, but simply a talented Artist

Ive listened to this song for about a year and i just had to come back to say this is, but this piece is one of the best (and i say that only in respect to people i do not know) musical compositions of this generation, and i would have no problem with Ichika being our Beethoven

Am I delusional or is his music the beautifully unique? I dont know if theres a "genre" of guitar playing and style that I'm just unfamiliar with. But I've never heard anything like this. It's been my main source of inspiration with my own playing for months now. Its been years since ive heard something that made me feel this way.

I'm late but probably post-rock (maybe post-metal if you're looking for the same kind of melodic feeling but heavier), the key difference being most of them have full instrumentation. Some suggestions: Release the Long Ships, Crows in the Rain, Black Hill, Silent Island
As long as this earth has people as talented and as passionate as you in it, and such beautiful and touching music can be heard... life is still worth living.
Dear god this is beautiful. It is a good thing I can't play like this, I could never stop, I would get fired from my job and evicted from my house and starve to death playing guitar. What music do you listen to?
