This tutorial is a godsend, not many tutorials are so easy to follow or to the point, especially for modding stuff. They either go on pointless long winded tangents or they blow through everything too quickly, you manage to keep a fast pace and while actually explaining the things. I actually think I watched this video last time I thought about switching back to MO2 but I must have been sleep deprived or something because I remember not really liking it. Past me was, suffice to say, and idiot

I needed a refresher to install MO2 on my new pc and as someone who has to regularly explain computer and internet concepts to people 50 and older, I do want to commend your ability to explain decently complicated or intimidating processes in a straightforward way without being condescending to anyone who might not know what they're doing yet Also, your voice is dope and it was a pleasure to listen to while I worked

Thanks for the guide, should've watched this one instead 2 months ago. In the video I watched he said to name the MO2 install folder after the game, so my folder was messed up, with install directory and instance in the same place. It was fine until I made a new instance and couldn't use BethINI or mods. The way you pathed MO2 is way more organized than other videos I've watched.
Awesome job. One thing I do differently is to install Mod organizer on my slower storage drive to save space on my faster drive where I play and store my games and then in Mod organizer 2 under Settings - paths, point Mods and Overwrite to a directory on my drive that has my games. Those are the files your games will use while all the other files and downloads that the game isn't using sits on your slower storage drive saving you space.

Whenever I opened my mod organizer it doesnt register elder scrolls SE for me. When I go to browse for it and go to the folder its located it I cant see it it doesnt recognize it
I can't complete the create new instance step. When I click finish I get an access denied error. Ok I had to run MO2 as administrator to create new instance even though it wasn't on c: drive.
My MOD2 doesn't open. When I want to launch it, there's only hourglass for a moment, then nothing happens. I have it on my local drive and installed ndp and vc beforehand. Still nothing
Go into settings and there is a button called “associate with .nxm links.” It should be on a tab called Nexus. Not at my PC to check, so let me know if I’m remembering incorrectly.

Even though following your instructions and installing carefully in the D:\ drive... on the first opening of MO2 it sucessfully installs Skyrim but gives me a list of warnings 1] no profile found in c;\users\username/appdata/local/// etc.. 2) the game is in documents: this may cause issues because it is a special system folder (Skyrim is in the steamapps folder) 3) Mod Organiser is in Documents;; same warning.. 4) the instance base directory is in documents..... how do I correct this?
@@Apoqsi I’m currently using nexus mod manager it’s been good and bad, recently I had to delete my Skyrim because my game was freezing and I deleted my mods, I then go back onto nexus mod manager to then it saying that I have 80 mods installed but I deleted them all, it’s somehow kept a record of my mods somewhere on my computer but I’ve still been using it but I might just delete it all again and use mod organiser
You can always transfer mods from NMM to Mod Organizer 2 if you want to save some time, but if you’re already having issues with the install… I’d suggest starting from scratch with MO2. Be sure to delete the mods through NMM and wipe your game folder clean when doing a fresh install, otherwise there will be mod files left over.

Man I am stupid and can't do it even with these simple instructions. It keeps showing my Mods from Mod Organizer the first one and I still can't play my Skyrim game.
This may need updating, they added an extra step or two in the installation process. Had to pause where you went ahead of me and had to search the web for an answer. Didn't want to mess anything up lol.

Mods don’t deploy with Mod Organizer 2. It’s all a virtual file system. It never touches your base game folders. You install BodySlide through MO2. Once it’s enabled, go to the files tab on the right panel of MO2 and find the Tools for BodySlide. Right click the executable for it and it will give you an option to add it as a launch option in Mod Organizer 2. If you need me to make a video on it, just let me know.

Is there a way to transfer mods from a portable to a global. I ended up accidentally installing all my mods on the portable thats not opening. meanwhile the global opens

It keeps stating it can't find the st_loader.exe and refuses to launch, but it is using the old route when it used to be on my C drive and ik i have the st_loader.exe in the right place, but I moved it to my upgraded D drive since then. Any advice?
When I click on "Authorize" gives me a red box saying "your request may have timed out if it has been more than 5 minutes..." but it hasn't been that long to time out. Any solutions?

That’s fine, as long as they’re mods that can be installed with a mod manager. Stuff like script extenders have to be installed manually and not with MO2.

I've never seen this problem before. I updated MO2 which removed my mods so I am reinstalling them but MO2 keeps saying about Marry Me Serana SSE "This mod is for a different game" when it's the exact same one I've always used for SSE. I even redownloaded it again straight from Nexus SSE.
With Fallout 4 VR, and MO2.... do I install the FO4SE and FO4SEVR into the steamapps/common/Fallout 4 and Fallout 4 VR folders, respectively? Or are they inside the Mod Organizer 2 folder, in the Tools subfolder? I get so damn confused about what folder goes where. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
As it says on the mod page itself, Engine Fixes' skse64 Preloader and TBB Lib cannot be installed with a mod manager. It must be installed manually in the root Skyrim SE folder, just like SKSE64.
I set up an instance for Skyrim SE but when i try to open MO2 i get the error "Cannot open instance 'Skyrim Special Edition', the game directory 'D:\StemLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition' doesn't exist or the game plugin 'Skyrim Special Edition' doesn't recognize it. Select the game managed by this instance." And then I click Skyrim SE and it repeats... Anyone have any ideas?
Alright here is my question because I see it says the same thing on yours. And I had to do a fresh install just to correct the pathing because I had my game and stuff installed on my D drive, had the pathing for mods on C drive, I had gone through and got about 50GB of mods, I closed my MO2, reopened, and it had scrapped all of my load order changes and acted like it was the first time I opened it. So I reinstalled, everything as you go over on my D drive, made the folders ect, And then I see that god damn "Data path: C/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Local/ModOrganizer/Fallout 4" and sure enough it even created the new subfolder in my C drive and all that. Why is it doing that??
Is there a way to queue up downloads? For example, I have one big file I'm downloading. When that finishes MO2 will download the next file in my queued up downloads? Thanks!

It's my mod manager of choice, so I highly recommend it (if it supports the games you're wanting to mod).

im doing everything right it seems but none of my mods work when i launch the game through the Mod organizer. frustrating!
Your regular steam folder is on your os drive? If so move steam to a different drive entirely. Might help

Double check that is where your game is installed. Mod Organizer 2 might be linked to an incorrect directory.
@@Apoqsi Yes that's where it's installed. Opening skyrims file location on steam leads there too.

Do you have to connect nexus account to the mod organizer? And does it have any negatives if you don’t?
