I did not recognize him at first when hearing him singi in Arcane because of that. I really could not believe it was his voice because it was so different from what I was used to hear from him. He is really an incredible artist !
I have so much respect for him. He’s had a very successful career as music video producer for the biggest pop stars in the world. But he is a true artist and keeps developing himself. Many other successful producers don’t do that
@ronandynan1228it’s called falsetto and no it’s not that impressive. It’s just he worked hard on building a strong falsetto. It’s not the same position in the throat. I can sing higher than him and my range isn’t even fully grown yet
@@thenaxraeffect i think his transitions between the deep chest voice to falsetto and head-voice is pretty dang smooth giving an impression that the songs voice range is wider than it actually is. Should be more or less 2 octaves going from somewhere of B/F2 up to F4. Also the minor keys are soooo dannng clean.

I was honestly taken aback when I found out this was Woodkid while watching the show because I've never heard his voice go that high during the chorus, but then the whole atmosphere and style of the song was unmistakably him. Amazing stuff!

He does usually sing in lower tone (which I don't blame him, the colour of his voice in that range is incredible), but his songs are not just about his voice. I always describe his sound as cinematic.

There's a video of Mako who wrote the song talking about the process, and he mentioned how he broke all the rules he had set up for himself when it came to songwriting, and I think that's part of why it stands out so much. I've been listening to this song on repeat, can't imagine how happy I am that an official acoustic version is released, especially when there hasn't been that many covers of this song compared to the other Arcane ones.
He really pushed himself with this song, so much switching between vocal techniques and such a huge range in pitch. Definitely pushing himself past his (former) limits and it's awesome :D

But of course he uses pitch correction (and sound processing), like every single other performance of every other artist that gets posted on any kind of media. Not autotune.

I'm gonna be honest for having a very low voice , I know how difficult it is to get high notes when you have a deep voice, so I thought the first time I heard this song , that there was 2 different singers it's incredible.

i've been following and listening to Woodkid ever since the AC Revelations trailer bc i fell in love with his voice and the instrumentals, got to see him live some years after when he unexpectedly came to my country which was amazing, his live vocals are insane, they hit so hard along with the light show he does in his concerts. So, when i was watching Arcane, the signal scene really hit like a truck, not only is his voice so beautiful but also the instrumentals in his songs, they're truly mindblowing, they always give me the chills

Dude I had no idea he was in this show.... I've loved Woodkid ever since "The Golden Age" back in like maybe 2013? I was so happy to find out he was featured in this show, ESPECIALLY in one of the most powerful scenes of it. Just amazing dude, so happy for him. He sounds amazing!!!!
