Polystyrene Web-Fluid?

  • This was just a test to show the potential of dissolved polymers, I'm not going to be using polystyrene as a web fluid. Brain ion suggested butanone as a replacement for citrus, but he never showed a test video on it so I thought I'd give it a shot with some alternative methods.
    Brain Ion's video: • Video
I didn't wear protective gloves but I also didn't get any on me so that's good, I was also wearing a cheap fume mask and had an open window because the fumes are slightly annoying to deal with. Be safe, I'm not responsible for anything you do. I'm not using this for the mark 4's because it's not really compatible due to the solvents corrosive nature.
Also, don't pollute the environment I had to clean this crap up and it wasn't fun.

Nick Swabbell it uses polystyrene. Aka styrofoam. Nylon is only acidic when it's not cleaned, and it's very strong.

In Spider-Man Homecoming that scene where Peter makes the web fluid, this is what it says in his web formula notes:
    *Salicylic acid
    *Methanol.
*Touline (maybe or it said Toluene).
    *h-leptane or h-heptane (or it's just heptane).
    *Carbon tetrachloride.
    *Potassium Carbonate.
    *Ethyl acetate.
    *Hexane.
    *Sodium tetraborate.
*You also need to purify with silica gel somehow.
I know all this cause my mom is friends with Jon Watts.

Saw this video in a Spider-Man phase, but unlike a lot of others I always come back to it. Not for webfluid, but for fabric. What if styrofoam would be recycled into fibers to make fabric out of? Would it be a fire hazard? How would it feel against the skin? People use styrofoam as insulation, could it be used to insulate clothes more effectively? I don’t know, and I’m too lazy to find out.

Looking through the comments I'm wondering how many people found you, brain ion, and others after watching Spider-Man Homecoming. Not a bad thing, its great that the community will grow, but people should at least do some research on top of the few youtube videos they watched before investing into materials and trying to shoot stuff in people's faces.
