10 Minute Standing Abs & Balance Workout for Seniors & Beginners

- Have a chair ready for this great 10 minute workout that works your core while including balance exercises. This is a great video to add on to a cardio or strength workout or to activate your core muscles for the day. I think you will love these new and unique moves!
All exercises are done in a standing position so this video is perfect for those not comfortable getting down on the floor, or just to work the core in a different way!
As always, please go at your own pace and remember to keep your belly button pulled in towards your spine. You want to make sure that you are activating the abdominals and not using your lower back. Proper core strength will actually help in preventing back pain.

Love these 10 minute workouts! Could we have a 10 minute inner thigh workout (focusing just on the inner thighs) at some point? Would be so grateful. The 10m leg workout is brilliant!

Thank you for this! I'm on the lower end of the senior scale, but I have a desk job, and an alarm set every hour to remind me to get up and move. I do light calisthenics in my office, not enough to break a sweat obviously, but something I can do without getting down on the floor. This is perfect to get my back and my legs stretched out again, and get an ab workout in as well. Heading over to check out your other videos, and I've already liked and subscribed!

You have so much fantasy in your workouts and so many exercises.😍 I guess most of the trainers I've had, who repeated the same ex over and over, were just boring 😉Is there any difference in doing this workout wearing trainers and barefoot? And do you think it's better to do the workouts before or after the bike routine? Thank you and enjoy your Sunday! it's already lunchtime here in Italy!
Thanks Laura! I like to go barefoot for exercises that involve balance. That way the muscles in your feet are getting worked as well. but if you need the support for your foot or ankles, then shoes should be worn.
I would also do any of my workout after you ride the bike. That way you are nice and warmed up!

Since this workout is specifically for seniors, it should be noted that if you have osteoporosis you should avoid doing moves rounding your back or twisting your spine.
I have specific workouts that say "osteoporosis safe" in the titles and I have two more videos coming! I don't feel that it's realistic to mention it for every move in all 130 of my videos. I often have people who have osteoporosis just modify those moves that involve rounding or twisting of the spine. Let me know if you would like me to send you the links.

Love the 10min workout, I find after arguing with myself should I or shouldn't I do a video, spot the 10 min ones and my argument is sorted, I'll do the 10 min one. Wonderful Maria! You could absolutely do these daily. They were meant for mixing and matching. You could also mix in some of my other 10 min workouts for some variety. Take a day off though if you are sore at all to allow your muscles to recover.
