10 Minute Arm & Upper Body Strength Workout for Seniors & Beginners

- Please join me for this quick arm and upper body toning workout! This is a great video to do on its own or as an add-on to another workout. Follow this video with the all standing lower body workout and/or standing abs and balance.
I'm using a pair of 3 pound dumbbells. Always start with lighter weights and increase as you get stronger. There are no breaks in this workout and these light weights will get heavy fast. Take a break and shake it out if you need to.

I can't tell you how many apps and you tube videos I've tried. This is the first time that i have been 100% happy with everything. I love that you get straight to it, kept things easy to understand and achievable for a beginner. And you are encouraging without being annoying. Thank you!

Lauren , just to let you know that I am an avid follower. I quit the gym and am happy with all the variety that you have to offer. I am 77 and have been working out for 45 years continuously. Now that I’m older I needed something a little slower but still challenging. Love your workouts! Thank you!

Hi Lauren. Funny, I grabbed my 5lb weights, but heard you say 3. Boy, I'm glad that I listened to you. My arms were struggling on a few of the moves.

Thanks for the great video. I have been looking for some exercise videos. I really like that they are nice 10 minutes. Just started so we will see how it goes. I did make it through it. This was a wee bit challenging as a non-stop upper body workout, especially near the end and a great add on to your Weight Training FUNctional workout! I especially loved your bicep curl, then overhead elbow strike into your triceps extension-a very unique move! I loved the whole workout! I will be revisiting this one again and again, Lauren!

So glad I found your moves. They are so good for my bad shoulders.1 was frozen & the other broken. I had a cortisone shot, then I go lazy & didn't exercise because they didn't hurt. I learned they will only get much better if I work them.

Oh my gosh.. I never underestimate a beginner workout since it doesn't always mean low intensity!. I'm not a newbie whatsoever to weights or dance and I used 5lbs. I loved this sequence SO much and I feel it everywhere 🔥 🥵. I'll definitely be doing this again! Thank you for kicking my butt!❤

That was perfect. I started kayaking with my hubby and found out I have enough strength to paddle but not enough to get me back in the seat if I tump over off my kayak. I need to build up my upper body and lose some weight. This video is perfect for my upper body. I will check out the other videos you have made. Thanks again. Oh BTW I just turned 66.

I've just done this again- 2 weeks into knee arthroscopy recovery - love the concept and quickness of the 10 min series! Just a thought - would you maybe add to your, no doubt, ever expanding list, a 10 min seated series? For those of us recovering from injury and the less mobile? I get so much satisfaction knowing that I can work out, whatever my fitness/ injury level and its good to be able to slot a short workout into a busy day! Keep doing what you are doing - you're the best out there at what you do xx
You're so kind Liz! I'm glad to hear that you are healing well. A 10 min seated series is a great idea. Realistically, I wouldn't get to it until February. I will also keep an eye on my seated videos, they have not been doing very well lately...

I love your workouts!! I like how use two different moves for one exercise. But I noticed you didn't stretch before or after this workout? I always try to do a 20-minute workout to warm my shoulders first. Before I do STRENGTH training workout. some people might not know how to warm up first. Please keep making amazing videos! 🏋♂️

I love your workouts but am looking for a 10 minute purely upper body stretch routine. I can only seem to find lower body ones and was wondering if you have an upper body one that I might have missed? Thank you for your channel and great workouts.
Thanks Linda. I have lots of stretch workouts including many 10 minute ones, but you're correct, I don't have one that's just upper body. all of them are whole body, so they do include arm and shoulder stretches. Have you looked at the seated 10 min stretch? I think that one includes more upper body.
Missing is what some of the exercises are called. If I needed to discuss my routine with a PT I know he’d ask. Nonetheless, I appreciate what you do here.

I have a few more 10 min lower body, but they are on the floor. Can you get on the floor, or do you need standing?

I respectfully disagree. Regardless of any instructors rate, you should always go at your own pace.
