Kelsey got divorced one week before the pandemic. Perfect timing. So while her friends used the time to get sober or get fit, Kelsey spent the pandemic getting used to divorced life. The Highs: peeing in the shower without her husband's judgement. The lows: watching ASMR videos on RUclips to feel less alone. Lucky for us, she wrote jokes about all of it. So now we can hear about it in her hilarious new hour, The Hustler.
In Kelsey reflects on love and sex with the detached wisdom of a guru. She wonders if her marriage was doomed from the start, given that her husband had to give up peanut butter when they got together because of her severe allergy. She talks about the rush she gets from hustling drunk guys in bars who don't know she's a world-champion foosball player.

Wow. You can tell she put a lotta time into this. So many call-backs, tags, and smooth transitions. I laughed way more while watching this then I did watching some recent ‘high-profile’ comedians’ specials. Hope this gets huge numbers, you deserve it Kelsey!

I only discovered Kelsey about 6 months ago, but I probably listened to this gem, realistically, 20 times in its entierety and couple dozen times for the various clips cut out of this video. This is such a masterpiece, no fluff, packed with jokes, great callbacks and intertwines, pleasant, calming voice, I would pay for her feet pics and I am really not into feet at all.
Wait, what? Who is she?? She's hilarious! Why isn't she all over netflix?? She's better than most of the shows there!
Because Netflix isn't the sole platform for good comedy. Idk why people act like it is. It isn't what HBO used to be.
you know when you are clicking through standups trying to find someone to make you cry laughing and you finally find one? yeah, this is one of them. Kelsey Cook is a comedy genius with a one of a kind delivery that stands out from the rest. she deserves all the continued success in her career and i am anticipating her future specials!!❤

@@Brian-ux3jx Pretty much what I think. She is moderately funny to me. But, I think men and women have pretty different taste in humor. There are very few female comedians that I think are even a little funny. Kelsey Cook is among the best female comedians to me. Still not hilarious, but moderately funny. But, there are a-lot of male comedians that are worse.

She had great timing. Her transitions were flawless. She did a little bit of crowd work, which was fantastic and very witty. I loved that she would go back to things she said in previous jokes. Like talk about Wendell and her Gin and Ham joke. One of the best female comic specials I've seen in a long time. Great job Kelsey.

It may be a simple stating of facts from a foreign language perspective. The name Anthony Fregoso sounds vaguely Italian. As a German and thus non-native English speaker, I use male and female as simple words for describing, well ... male and female. A male comic would be a comedian who identifies as a man. A female comic on the other hand, would be a comedian who identifies as a woman.
If you find that condescending, you are putting intentions behind words that aren't there, instead of asking if there was any intent to offend. Which would be rather condescending.
I get that 'female' has taken up additional connotations recently. But you can't expect the world to just follow suit with your interpretations. It's still a fairly widely used word with a fairly neutral dictionary definition. By constantly bringing up what some people think it might mean, you educate others in taking offense at a simple string of letters that doesn't have intrinsic connotations. You make it an 'insult'. And you take the insulting part from your head, not from the person you're replying to.
This is text based online communication. There's no accentuation like there would be in a verbal discussion. No expression as you'd have eye-to-eye. Where you can make educated guesses as to what someone might mean. In plain, written text, maybe just take people by their word in the most neutral or even most positive sense, because the comment was very obviously praise. Or keep being a dick. It's obviously up to you, as it is up to others, to judge you by what you write.

The diet cum line is an absolute winner, and adding Wendell on the end is the cherry on top. Too funny. As well as your mother jokes. Your openness and honesty about being divorced gives you a vulnerability that makes your material land even better. You have great things ahead.
This set is better than most Netflix specials. They need to get her on a show. Funny and witty. And gorgeous to boot!

This is one of those videos where I clicked on the timeline a bunch of times to make sure it wasn't ending, thats how entertaining this was!
This was so well done, I laughed the whole time and shed a tear for the dedication to her mother at the end. I also appreciate the Foosball hustle in the credits. Going back from that though, I feel like I can tell when a comedian says something, but is thinking about something else, she is engaged the entire time. Every joke landed for me, every side joke was spot on. Her references, observations, straight up humor. I loved it. I watched this bc Chad Daniels said it was one of his favorite, it easy to see why.

I love her comedy! She got divorced a week before COVID hit - I will give you one up - My wife was in the hospital for complications from cancer and died on St. Patrick's day, 3/17/2020, just as COVID hit. Kelsey's comedy gives me strength to get through this $#;+.
I especially love her bit about moving to Minnesota! I grew up in Wisconsin and my sister lives in Minneapolis - other than the taxes, it is a great place to live!!

Kelsey is one of the hardest working comics in the game today. I’m happy for her recent, (and in my opinion, long overdue) career successes and status rise. I just listened to her on Bert’s podcast, Sickler’s podcast, and her and Taylor on Adam Ray’s podcast, and they were so good. I’ve always liked Kelsey’s confidence in everything she’s done. One of my favorite examples of that is when I watched her totally SMOKE Sam Tripoli at Foosball a few years ago, and when they called her mom and she told Sam that Kelsey was gonna kick his ass was priceless.
Just discovered Kelsey and she's fantastic! One of the best female acts I've heard! Hope her career as a comic really takes off.
Believe me when I say that I love to discover awesome new stand-up comedy shows. Unfortunately, there is a shorter list of incredible female comics versus male comedians. This girl has a gift that only kickass comedians are born with. She is on my list for having one of the most amazing Stand-Up Comedy Specials!!!
