Headcanon unlocked: Melody gave Usahana the fluffy fingerless gloves :)
I know they don't need to have everything from the original design but I miss Cinnamoroll's ears, I think they are very important to define the character and that's why I wanted something that it's similar to them, maybe locks of hair even if they were shorter.

I would have a heart attack from pure joy if you ever did Chococat. I love him so much, but he doesn't get nearly as much love as he deserves! One of my greatest fears is that one day he wont even make it onto the Sanrio character ranking (Shinkansen is my nemesis)
i had to look up shinkansen bc i thought that meant bullet train and i was right! there is a sanrio character that is literally just a bullet train with a face. how amusing

the one detail i disliked about usahana's design is that YOU FORGOT SHE COLLECTS EARRINGS D: !!
I would've personally made her have a bunch of ear peircings and cute colorful earrings, But everything else is absolutely amazing and i love it so much!!

I love your designs, I never heard about Usahana before (but I don't know much about Sanrio anyway) but I love it and I love the skin tone explanation lol The only thing I could see being done differently (not saying you should, just an idea) is playing around with Cinnamon roll hair shape more since he has very long years, that character is like 2/3 ears so I expected to see something referencing them, like one of those short hairstyles with longer strands on one part, or maybe having a short middle part hairstyle with volume on top, something that resemble a "duo" thing, like the two ears, instead of a fluffy bowl-cut.
If you decide to continue this series it would so cool if you did pompompurin :) he's my fav but also don't feel pressured to do more of this and I hope your project goes well ^^ I'm super excited for all the stuff you have planned in the future :)

I love how you talked about contrast with U*S*A*H*A*N*A. reminded me of how I love folks with dark hair and light eyes as well as folks with really dark skin and the most brilliant white teeth.
I love how your like “WE LIVE ON A ROCK IN SPACE, NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL”. I currently have been making Sanrio characters into jesters and I some of the characters have dark skin just makes the drawing pop!

I absolutely love these designs, they are both adorable! I do think it would've looked a bit better if the details on the purple side of Usahana's jacket were green instead of blue, that way there would be more green in the design and it wouldn't blend as much with the shirt? I still think it looks great though!!

It’s so sad that you’ve got to staunchly defend your choices in terms of picking skin tones 😭 I’d never seen Usahana before, and I think the human version you did was very charming! You mentioned it being unfortunate that the only green in your design was just on her shorts, but the green on her bunny form is limited to just a leg, so I think that’s very fitting! Good job as always ❤

Yes contrast is the key for good character design but also art in general! That’s why goth characters in media are well designed cuz of the pale skin and dark clothes and hair. Well that’s my opinion at least XD
