Yeah, Daisy isn't a desert princess. But 3 out of 4 of the Sarasaland Kingdoms are in hot/tropical areas, so that is indeed likely where her tan comes from. They tanned her up in the N64 era, but made her pale again in the GameCube/Wii games. At the same time, they said Daisy had moved to the Mushroom Kingdom, so that might explain why her tan faded. Now Nintendo likes to mention Sarasaland all the time, so it's safe to assume that she lives in Sarasaland again, and visiting the sunny kingdoms has brought back her tan.

@@eddie-rooIn Daisy's original appearance she had pale skin, as well as at least 1 or 2 after that. In Mario tennis she was given a tan which lasted only during the N64 era. Not sure if she is tan in any Wii games, but I know that she was almost exclusively pale in that era. Her getting her tan back has only started happening in the last several years. With I think Mario Party: Superstars being the main one. Since then most games have had her with her tan.
i LOVE all of these TBH i feel like you made all of them really distinct but still recognizable. i'm partial to rolasinda's blonde hair but the white makes her look very etheral. much love to all of these characters
I can agree with that, i feel like she maybe could have pushed the yellow a lil bit to make it a more obvious pastel yellow but i do like the white it looks very elegant on her
I believe Daisy has less centered games around her is cus she's the tomboy princess so she's never had to be rescued, but maybe one day they can make a game where we go to Sarasaland (Daisy's hometown) and have to save her town. Her first and only game where she needed to be saved was 1989's Super Mario Land and we never got to see her hometown since. I wish we could get a game to see it and flesh out Daisy more.
I loved Daisy but i think a shorter skirt would suit her better than pants! Just because for me she always conveyed that you could be sporty and athletic whilst being girly and pretty! But thats just me!

God i loved that design! sadly her silouette was way to similar to peache's so i would get why they changed the design for a shorter hair. Sad that they went the lazy route and called it a day making their dresses basically the same, at least it seems daisy is getting her tan back!
As a Daisy Fan, I totally agree with her redesign. Daisy is considered a tomboy with an attitude and green eyes give off her desert princess vibe. Especially with her tan skin from the early 2000’s
Really love the Peach redesign, have a bit more to say about Daisy and Rosalina Loved the ruffle on Daisy's bodice and the green eyes were good! Not sure about the pants though but that may be because I just find skirts and secret pants more comfy than shorts and regular pants ^^" Rosalina looks really pretty and I totally agree with the gradient and the white hair, I was sad that you got rid of the empire waistline but I actually really like the top of the dress! But not a fan of the skirt part, idk I feel keeping it full length (maybe with some white or sth) would have kept the design more ethereal? Anyway they're still all very pretty 🌟
Honestly i love all the redesign you made ! They are stunning ! But i particularly love Rosalina's one. Even though she's my favorite she always felt like a distorted clone of Peach. But with her redesign, you made her like the protector of the galaxy she is ! I love it
Rosalina looking like Peach is because her creator wanted them to be related, but Nintendo said no. If you look at Rosalina's mother in the storybook she looks exactly like Peach.
Let’s go first sponsor vid, congrats! And as a Daisy enjoyer, you did a really good job with her! Although I would’ve added some more darker oranges towards the bottom of the design (it looks a little empty with the one big color), and maybe added the emerald green accent to her boots where the bows are and a belt that has the green in the middle. So that then you got a good rule of three with the center flower, belt on the waistline, and on her boots. As for Peach and Rosalina, honestly they look just fine for they’re designs, a lot of good color balance with them☺️
I like how you basically said you didn’t connect with Daisy was because she wasn’t in mainline games back then. I mentally just glared at Nintendo like “hm, interesting” like I’m glad she’s in Wonder, but oh my gosh, the reason why they finally decided to put her in a main game was just so ridiculous 😂
First of all, these were such good designs. I'm also an artist, but I'm terrible at redesigning (either I can't redesign a certain character or I have an idea, but lack the skill to execute said idea). I do have some ideas for what I would do to keep these three recognizable and have different silhouettes from each other. Naturally, Peach has that familiar look we all know and love (blonde hair, pink dress, blue accents), and I think you nailed a redesign for her. (The bows also have me excited for Princess Peach Showtime.) Daisy requires a bit of thinking. One she a tomboy, and two, she's a princess of a desert kingdom. (I'd also give her tanned skin and darker brown hair, but I doubt pants would be the best thing for a desert princess to wear.) What I would've done for her is give her a MUCH shorter reddish orange skirt (at least around her knees, rather than dragging across the ground) that gives her enough movement for her to run around, a yellow crop top, eye makeup, no headwear (I was debating on giving her a crown inspired by desert royalty, but thought against it), and tone her muscles a bit more (specifically on her legs, arms, stomach, and back). I'm also playing with the idea of giving her veils around her waist or over her face, maybe even a desert lotus in her hair. (That being said, I actually like the idea of you combining a princess's outfit with a prince's, especially the ascot under her brooch.) Last but not least, the Cosmic Witch herself: Rosalina. Another one where I need to think. She's a princess and a witch, so I would combine the look of a princess gown and a mage's robe. Much like Daisy, I'm not giving her a crown of the sorts of any kind of headpiece. Instead, I'm giving her a black, sparkly cape that stops at the middle of her thighs with pops of blues, pinks, and purples, looking like the vast cosmos. Instead of giving her gold embellishments, I'm going the opposite direction and having them silver. The familiar light greenish blue is now going to be on a sash around her waist, whereas the gown-robe hybrid I'm thinking is more of a cobalt blue leading to this purplish pink (also sparkly). The real thing I want to change is her wand. The head of this wand will also be silver and have the shape of a protection sigil, since she's referred as the guardian of the cosmos.
@jakeystarsuper It's less "putting more muscle on her" and more "having these muscles look more lean." You can add muscular definition by adding less fat. Just by adding minimal muscle while reducing fat can give her a more toned appearance.
Rosalina’s design is definitely beautiful, I don’t know how to feel about the white hair cause it definitely reads as Elsa with the glitter blue dress and white hair so like Elsa with a Star motif. I think if you kept it blond maybe put in like white highlights or tips, or instead used Rosalina’s father genetics (Luigi) and gave a light or dark brunette that would’ve been a cool character design choice. Absolutely adore Peach’s design you came up with, the palette feels more cohesive with replacing whites with pale pastel yellow. Daisy’s design definitely suits her well, the train high low skirt is definitely the choice to go, and the petal details definitely points out that she would be called a floral name, her skin tone definitely suits her for being the Princess of the Sahara desert that she’s from, and the green eyes are the most adorable touch because it definitely feels of more variety than the mainly blue eyed characters we see. All in all the character designs are wonderful, Rosalina’s may not be my absolute favorite but it does suit her character well.
I would honestly kept the dress for Daisy, because one trait that made her iconic was the fact that she was like fancy and princessy but still got that competitive persona, and I really liked that she was able to fight and all that in a dress and heels. Daisy is also Peach’s wario counterpart so keep that in mind
I love the way Rosalina looks!! Even the hair :0 Well, I love all of them. Also, fun fact! Did you know that Peach's hair is supposed to reflect Mario's moustache, and Daisy's is supposed to reflect Luigi's? You'd have to put them side by side to really see it I think, but that's what was intended by Nintendo. :P

Peach is an absolute icon. She is the girly girly who keeps up with the boys. The proper mannered princess who can fight the dragon turtle that kidnaps her. Long may she reign! I sort of lament Daisy’s loss of the tan and red crown. Even despite the fact that she looked more like Peach back when she was made, the color choices did enough to differentiate Daisy enough to give her an identity. Rosalina does look like an OC. I think the platinum blonde would have been more Rosalina, but it’s a great design regardless.
I think Daisy needs a game where she's part of the story. In my personal opinion at least. I only ever see her in like more nonstory bases Mario games.
I think Rosalinas redesign in particular could be made into a REALLY cute cosplay. The top of her dress looks super cool, and with slight modifications it would work great with actual empire waist dresses (which I personally love). They would often have a more fancy looking top that then split down the front, starting from the underbust, and have a more simple skirt underneath (though of course the top looked very different). The star belt you gave her also reminds me a lot of a metal girdle (belt), which I think is pretty neat.
I absolutely love the Daisy redesign! She used to have a tanner skin complextion and Nintendo changed it for some reaaon so that looks amazing and she is way more tomboyish than Peach and Rosalina so the shorts and open skirt piece are perfect for her! My only thing is that I feel like she needs a touch of green towards the bottom of her design to tie in the color a bit better but other than that, fantastic interpretation! 10 out of 10!!!

These are so cute! Daisy is my favorite princess, I love how spunky and sporty she is. If I were to change anything, I maybe would have put her hair in a ponytail to further emphasize that part of her personality and further set her apart from Peach and Rosalina! In any case, these look awesome!
I think, if I had to complain about anything cause theese are awesome, i'd say that Daisy is a little chubbier than i'd think she'd be. No offense, i'm kind of fat myself, I just see Daisy a little more slim than that. I also think the Rosalina design is fine. After all, your here to redesign them, so who cares if it doesn't match the og??
All perfect except for one thing! As an avid Super Mario Galaxy player, Rosalina is left handed! In every scene throughout the game, she's holding the wand with her left hand. No issue, I know that things like that are hard to remember especially if you haven't played the game in at least 3 years, lol And also as a space freak that loves space and sci-fi, your version of Rosalina would've had me freak out and make fanart for YEARS. ... I might draw fanart of your version of Rosalina, SHE'S SO PRETTY

I think she's actually ambidextrous. I just took a look at some of the games she was in, and I saw that the wand altered from hand to hand. For example, when Mario first met her in Galaxy, the wand was in her right hand, but when he landed in the observatory, it's now in her left. Flying the comet to the center of the universe, right, but after the explosion, left. Perhaps she prefers it in her left hand since there is also concept art of her playing a guitar (she looks like one of those coffee shop performers with a black crop top and skinny jeans) for Super Mario Odyssey, and it was a left-handed guitar. This was unfortunately scrapped and replaced with Pauline (my guys is just so they could have vocals, and Pauline already looks like a lounge singer).

A lot of people say they enjoy Daisy's dark skin because her country is very hot and she would likely "be exposed to the sun" often. I personally disagree with this. Most people who are native to hot areas (such as Africa or India) are naturally dark skinned as an evolutionary advantage against the sun. Rationalizing it as her being tan from sun exposure assumes she was born pale, which makes no sense.
I always love seeing redesign projects like this. Even if I don't agree with all of the decisions and choices, it's always a great look into other peoples' minds and it's so creative and interesting. I think currently I don't really have anything I dislike about the _official_ princess designs. The one main thing that stands out is that Daisy's dress is WAY too similar to Peach's. Both Daisy and Peach had different dress designs in the classic era. Daisy's classic dress was the same shape as Peach's classic dress, but the design always felt a lot more different to me. Maybe it's that she had white as a prominent color, which ties into the whole "daisy" idea. But when Peach got a modern dress, they basically just took the same thing for Daisy and barely differentiated it. I think the modern dress looks better overall, but she ends up feeling too close to Peach because of it. Interesting thing about Rosalina's hair is that I think it's supposed to slightly resemble a Luma. Idk if that's true, but it always felt kinda like a round chubby star to me. One thing to note is that Rosalina's facial structure is almost identical to Peach's. While Rosalina stands out a lot more in terms of hair and clothing, her face is pretty close to Peach's. This is because Rosalina was originally gonna be a relative of Peach. I assume she was gonna be Peach's cousin or something. BUT in the final game, she _IS_ very likely to be related to Peach. But instead of a cousin, she's a relative of Peach's ancestors. Rosalina was a princess of the Mushroom Kingdom when she lived on earth, and it's likely her brother went on to become king. Peach would be his descendent. While I love the connection between Peach & Rosalina, it is a bit of a bummer that the 3 main Mario girls are all very similar in appearance. I'd really love it if they introduced a brand new human woman to the main cast. Preferably a character without royalty that is a lot more visually unique compared to the others. I thought it was really interesting that you removed Peach's crown and replaced it with a bow. Not sure if it's intentional, but it reminded me of the upcoming Princess Peach Showtime, where Peach will not be wearing her crown for most of the game, and instead has a pink ribbon. It makes her design feel quite different, and the pink really works well with her hair. Would be cool if future sports games continued to leave her crown out to experiment with ribbons and such.
I like all of them so much! The vibrant colours and the details looks really nice the shape of Rosalina' s dress kind of remind me of Elsa but i do love Elsa's dress so that's a win for me

I semi recently redesigned these three so it was interesting to see you do it! my main focus was changing the structure of peach and daisy's dresses to make it not just a recolor.
i really love how you added more bows with princess peach especially with the new game coming out-? the way you drew rosalina's dress gives her a more mature vibe and her hair color too. And as for princess daisy, in my opinion she's my favorite redesign of all 3! The tanned skin makes soo much sense since shes LITERALLY the princess of the desert-😭? and the way you drew her dress really fits with her personality as much as she loves to move around alot yet she still has that princess-ish vibe. overall👏 they're all amazing.
They are all super adorable! Love Rosalia, new design is soooooo much better. I like Peach, cute, simple works for her. I like your Daisy but I think I personally would have chopped the skirt much shorter and maybe boots. Still a solid design tho

Wow, I love your design of Rosalina. She looks magical I also like the combination of skirt and pants in Daisy's design, but to be honest, in my opinion the pants are a little too short
For daisy i had the thought of giving her a design similar in style to princess knight or even Cure Chocolat would suite her very well. it gives her free form through the use of shorts and high skirt off the top, but also allows for high boots that show off her tomboy and feminine traits very well. My boyfriend loves daisy so i think of a lot of ways to make her more relevant to the franchise and giving her an entire makeover is one that i play with a lot in my head. Side tangent but i think that the new peach game should go Mario galaxy and make the NGP mode be a daisy mode where its ever so slightly tougher with the enemy AI and puzzle timing.
They all look so good! I think Daisy is definitely my favorite though. I super agree with the hair color change for Rosalina, although she has always stuck me as more of a silver kind of girl than gold. Peach looks super cute!

as much as i like everyone’s design…i feel like peach’s sleeves should’ve been a little more puffy, gloves should’ve been the same long length tucked underneath her sleeves, and rosalina’s dress should’ve definitely stuck a liiiittle more to her original style. i feel like with everyone else’s, you kinda had a general feel of their outfits due to smash bros and you put a cute spin on it, but you completely changed rosalina’s. i like the more elegant neck of the dress, but i think the slit would’ve been cute on the side, no cut out, maybe gold embroidery; the same star belt you put on her, and her original droopy sleeves with the gloves (white rather than blue) running up her arms underneath the long droopy sleeves. and you definitely should’ve kept rosalina’s hair blonde and not white…plus her skin, in comparison to the rest of her looks gray 😭 besides those few nitpicks, i’d say they’re gorgeous. i love all of them (but rosalina definitely looks like an oc instead of…rosalina…)
As a Daisy fan here! i really like the direction you took with her, although one thing it would be nice is it you took a look on her Original design, she used to loook very different from what you seen her nowadays, so maybe you could have incorporated some of her old look (in fact, she WAS tanned like you did her here) in you redeisgn, especially since her dress looked more like a flower, but overall! Love your version of her, Peach and Rosie also look Great!

Tbh your daisy just, doesn't look like Daisy, like her face is wayyy too angled. Like peach has that teardrop shaped face, and Daisy's faceshape in comparison is much softer, i know you wanted to make her most distinct next to Peach, but maybe you went the wrong way, Peach could've be the more angled one, and Daisy the rounder? Cos otherwise to much that design is just unrecognizable, thats not Daisy Sarasaland thats just a lady wearing orange.(also her head is just,,, kinda small, but i'll shut up abt it) Last thing but; between all of them Rosalina looks fine, and maybe it's because she's more, i unno, special(?) compared to the other two, but Peach and Daisy have too much going on in their designs, they would Not be wearing All of That. otherwise, ur fine i'm soz i dont wanna be harsh but , pleaseeeee
I think Princess Peach's bangs are supposed to be peach-shaped rather than heart-shaped, like this emoji 🍑 This is how the Japanese depict peaches and Nintendo is a Japanese company after all. Makes sense as a reference to her name, right? Of course, you can still say it's heart-shaped and technically be correct. Cool redesigns btw, I like your art style. But I must say it's very strange to see these characters with smaller heads and thicker bodies 😂 I mean, normally it's the opposite, their bodies are so small and slender while their heads are super big, so you know, that's what we're used to. Daisy's legs especially caught my attention as very thick in comparison to her head, a little too much so for my personal preference. To be honest she's my least favorite redesign out of the three (I'm sorry, other than the proportions I'm not a big fan of her outfit, it's a little too much for me; I do like the petal boots and gloves though!), while Rosalina's is probably my favorite, followed closely by Peach's😊
Peach and Rosalina are great! I don't think the design for Daisy is necessarily bad, but I don't think such a masculine physic suits her. I know she's referred to as the "tom boy" princess, but I don't think that means she should be stripped of her femininity.
I think the redesigns are really pretty, but they kinda lost the Mario vibe? Like, those designs are how I’d imagine they would dress the princesses in a live-action show. Mario is VERY cartoony and reliant on simplicity.
I like all these designs but two comments: 1. Daisy Looks a bit too muscline for me. I know shes a tomboy but it just seems a little strange. 2. The white hair makes the rosalina redesign look like a deifferent character. If her hair was blonde I think she would resemble the orgininal more

As a Princess Daisy fan myself, I love your redesign of her. In a lot of the earlier games she did have a tan due to her ruling over the desert kingdom of Sarasha land. Also, she's a tomboy so it makes more sense for her to wear pants. Excellent work. ❤❤❤

Not sure if she is tan in any Wii games, but I know that she was almost exclusively pale in that era.
Her getting her tan back has only started happening in the last several years. With I think Mario Party: Superstars being the main one. Since then most games have had her with her tan.

I believe Daisy has less centered games around her is cus she's the tomboy princess so she's never had to be rescued, but maybe one day they can make a game where we go to Sarasaland (Daisy's hometown) and have to save her town. Her first and only game where she needed to be saved was 1989's Super Mario Land and we never got to see her hometown since. I wish we could get a game to see it and flesh out Daisy more.

God i loved that design! sadly her silouette was way to similar to peache's so i would get why they changed the design for a shorter hair. Sad that they went the lazy route and called it a day making their dresses basically the same, at least it seems daisy is getting her tan back!

As a Daisy Fan, I totally agree with her redesign. Daisy is considered a tomboy with an attitude and green eyes give off her desert princess vibe. Especially with her tan skin from the early 2000’s

Rosalina looks really pretty and I totally agree with the gradient and the white hair, I was sad that you got rid of the empire waistline but I actually really like the top of the dress! But not a fan of the skirt part, idk I feel keeping it full length (maybe with some white or sth) would have kept the design more ethereal? Anyway they're still all very pretty 🌟

Rosalina looking like Peach is because her creator wanted them to be related, but Nintendo said no. If you look at Rosalina's mother in the storybook she looks exactly like Peach.
Let’s go first sponsor vid, congrats! And as a Daisy enjoyer, you did a really good job with her! Although I would’ve added some more darker oranges towards the bottom of the design (it looks a little empty with the one big color), and maybe added the emerald green accent to her boots where the bows are and a belt that has the green in the middle. So that then you got a good rule of three with the center flower, belt on the waistline, and on her boots. As for Peach and Rosalina, honestly they look just fine for they’re designs, a lot of good color balance with them☺️
I like how you basically said you didn’t connect with Daisy was because she wasn’t in mainline games back then. I LOVE the Rosalina redesign! And all the redesigns in general! You have a beautiful art style!
First of all, these were such good designs. I'm also an artist, but I'm terrible at redesigning (either I can't redesign a certain character or I have an idea, but lack the skill to execute said idea). I do have some ideas for what I would do to keep these three recognizable and have different silhouettes from each other.
Naturally, Peach has that familiar look we all know and love (blonde hair, pink dress, blue accents), and I think you nailed a redesign for her. (The bows also have me excited for Princess Peach Showtime.)
Daisy requires a bit of thinking. One she a tomboy, and two, she's a princess of a desert kingdom. (I'd also give her tanned skin and darker brown hair, but I doubt pants would be the best thing for a desert princess to wear.) What I would've done for her is give her a MUCH shorter reddish orange skirt (at least around her knees, rather than dragging across the ground) that gives her enough movement for her to run around, a yellow crop top, eye makeup, no headwear (I was debating on giving her a crown inspired by desert royalty, but thought against it), and tone her muscles a bit more (specifically on her legs, arms, stomach, and back). I'm also playing with the idea of giving her veils around her waist or over her face, maybe even a desert lotus in her hair. (That being said, I actually like the idea of you combining a princess's outfit with a prince's, especially the ascot under her brooch.)
Last but not least, the Cosmic Witch herself: Rosalina. Another one where I need to think. She's a princess and a witch, so I would combine the look of a princess gown and a mage's robe. Much like Daisy, I'm not giving her a crown of the sorts of any kind of headpiece. Instead, I'm giving her a black, sparkly cape that stops at the middle of her thighs with pops of blues, pinks, and purples, looking like the vast cosmos. Instead of giving her gold embellishments, I'm going the opposite direction and having them silver. The familiar light greenish blue is now going to be on a sash around her waist, whereas the gown-robe hybrid I'm thinking is more of a cobalt blue leading to this purplish pink (also sparkly). The real thing I want to change is her wand. The head of this wand will also be silver and have the shape of a protection sigil, since she's referred as the guardian of the cosmos.

@jakeystarsuper It's less "putting more muscle on her" and more "having these muscles look more lean." You can add muscular definition by adding less fat. Just by adding minimal muscle while reducing fat can give her a more toned appearance.
Rosalina’s design is definitely beautiful, I don’t know how to feel about the white hair cause it definitely reads as Elsa with the glitter blue dress and white hair so like Elsa with a Star motif. I think if you kept it blond maybe put in like white highlights or tips, or instead used Rosalina’s father genetics (Luigi) and gave a light or dark brunette that would’ve been a cool character design choice. Absolutely adore Peach’s design you came up with, the palette feels more cohesive with replacing whites with pale pastel yellow. Daisy’s design definitely suits her well, the train high low skirt is definitely the choice to go, and the petal details definitely points out that she would be called a floral name, her skin tone definitely suits her for being the Princess of the Sahara desert that she’s from, and the green eyes are the most adorable touch because it definitely feels of more variety than the mainly blue eyed characters we see. All in all the character designs are wonderful, Rosalina’s may not be my absolute favorite but it does suit her character well.
I would honestly kept the dress for Daisy, because one trait that made her iconic was the fact that she was like fancy and princessy but still got that competitive persona, and I really liked that she was able to fight and all that in a dress and heels. Daisy is also Peach’s wario counterpart so keep that in mind

I sort of lament Daisy’s loss of the tan and red crown. Even despite the fact that she looked more like Peach back when she was made, the color choices did enough to differentiate Daisy enough to give her an identity.
Rosalina does look like an OC. I think the platinum blonde would have been more Rosalina, but it’s a great design regardless.
I think Daisy needs a game where she's part of the story. In my personal opinion at least. I only ever see her in like more nonstory bases Mario games.

I think Rosalinas redesign in particular could be made into a REALLY cute cosplay. The top of her dress looks super cool, and with slight modifications it would work great with actual empire waist dresses (which I personally love). They would often have a more fancy looking top that then split down the front, starting from the underbust, and have a more simple skirt underneath (though of course the top looked very different).
The star belt you gave her also reminds me a lot of a metal girdle (belt), which I think is pretty neat.

I absolutely love the Daisy redesign! She used to have a tanner skin complextion and Nintendo changed it for some reaaon so that looks amazing and she is way more tomboyish than Peach and Rosalina so the shorts and open skirt piece are perfect for her! My only thing is that I feel like she needs a touch of green towards the bottom of her design to tie in the color a bit better but other than that, fantastic interpretation! 10 out of 10!!!

These are so cute! Daisy is my favorite princess, I love how spunky and sporty she is. If I were to change anything, I maybe would have put her hair in a ponytail to further emphasize that part of her personality and further set her apart from Peach and Rosalina! In any case, these look awesome!

All perfect except for one thing! As an avid Super Mario Galaxy player, Rosalina is left handed! In every scene throughout the game, she's holding the wand with her left hand. No issue, I know that things like that are hard to remember especially if you haven't played the game in at least 3 years, lol
And also as a space freak that loves space and sci-fi, your version of Rosalina would've had me freak out and make fanart for YEARS. ... I might draw fanart of your version of Rosalina, SHE'S SO PRETTY

I think she's actually ambidextrous. I just took a look at some of the games she was in, and I saw that the wand altered from hand to hand. For example, when Mario first met her in Galaxy, the wand was in her right hand, but when he landed in the observatory, it's now in her left. Flying the comet to the center of the universe, right, but after the explosion, left. Perhaps she prefers it in her left hand since there is also concept art of her playing a guitar (she looks like one of those coffee shop performers with a black crop top and skinny jeans) for Super Mario Odyssey, and it was a left-handed guitar. This was unfortunately scrapped and replaced with Pauline (my guys is just so they could have vocals, and Pauline already looks like a lounge singer).

A lot of people say they enjoy Daisy's dark skin because her country is very hot and she would likely "be exposed to the sun" often.
I personally disagree with this.
Most people who are native to hot areas (such as Africa or India) are naturally dark skinned as an evolutionary advantage against the sun.
Rationalizing it as her being tan from sun exposure assumes she was born pale, which makes no sense.
Another thing is aren't there pale people who live in really hot areas?

I always love seeing redesign projects like this. Even if I don't agree with all of the decisions and choices, it's always a great look into other peoples' minds and it's so creative and interesting.
I think currently I don't really have anything I dislike about the _official_ princess designs. The one main thing that stands out is that Daisy's dress is WAY too similar to Peach's. Both Daisy and Peach had different dress designs in the classic era. Daisy's classic dress was the same shape as Peach's classic dress, but the design always felt a lot more different to me. Maybe it's that she had white as a prominent color, which ties into the whole "daisy" idea. But when Peach got a modern dress, they basically just took the same thing for Daisy and barely differentiated it. I think the modern dress looks better overall, but she ends up feeling too close to Peach because of it.
Interesting thing about Rosalina's hair is that I think it's supposed to slightly resemble a Luma. Idk if that's true, but it always felt kinda like a round chubby star to me. One thing to note is that Rosalina's facial structure is almost identical to Peach's. While Rosalina stands out a lot more in terms of hair and clothing, her face is pretty close to Peach's. This is because Rosalina was originally gonna be a relative of Peach. I assume she was gonna be Peach's cousin or something. BUT in the final game, she _IS_ very likely to be related to Peach. But instead of a cousin, she's a relative of Peach's ancestors. Rosalina was a princess of the Mushroom Kingdom when she lived on earth, and it's likely her brother went on to become king. Peach would be his descendent.
While I love the connection between Peach & Rosalina, it is a bit of a bummer that the 3 main Mario girls are all very similar in appearance. I'd really love it if they introduced a brand new human woman to the main cast. Preferably a character without royalty that is a lot more visually unique compared to the others.
I thought it was really interesting that you removed Peach's crown and replaced it with a bow. Not sure if it's intentional, but it reminded me of the upcoming Princess Peach Showtime, where Peach will not be wearing her crown for most of the game, and instead has a pink ribbon. It makes her design feel quite different, and the pink really works well with her hair. Would be cool if future sports games continued to leave her crown out to experiment with ribbons and such.

i really love how you added more bows with princess peach especially with the new game coming out-? the way you drew rosalina's dress gives her a more mature vibe and her hair color too. And as for princess daisy, in my opinion she's my favorite redesign of all 3! The tanned skin makes soo much sense since shes LITERALLY the princess of the desert-😭? and the way you drew her dress really fits with her personality as much as she loves to move around alot yet she still has that princess-ish vibe. overall👏 they're all amazing.

I also like the combination of skirt and pants in Daisy's design, but to be honest, in my opinion the pants are a little too short
For daisy i had the thought of giving her a design similar in style to princess knight or even Cure Chocolat would suite her very well. it gives her free form through the use of shorts and high skirt off the top, but also allows for high boots that show off her tomboy and feminine traits very well. My boyfriend loves daisy so i think of a lot of ways to make her more relevant to the franchise and giving her an entire makeover is one that i play with a lot in my head. Side tangent but i think that the new peach game should go Mario galaxy and make the NGP mode be a daisy mode where its ever so slightly tougher with the enemy AI and puzzle timing.

as much as i like everyone’s design…i feel like peach’s sleeves should’ve been a little more puffy, gloves should’ve been the same long length tucked underneath her sleeves, and rosalina’s dress should’ve definitely stuck a liiiittle more to her original style. i feel like with everyone else’s, you kinda had a general feel of their outfits due to smash bros and you put a cute spin on it, but you completely changed rosalina’s. i like the more elegant neck of the dress, but i think the slit would’ve been cute on the side, no cut out, maybe gold embroidery; the same star belt you put on her, and her original droopy sleeves with the gloves (white rather than blue) running up her arms underneath the long droopy sleeves. and you definitely should’ve kept rosalina’s hair blonde and not white…plus her skin, in comparison to the rest of her looks gray 😭
besides those few nitpicks, i’d say they’re gorgeous. i love all of them (but rosalina definitely looks like an oc instead of…rosalina…)

As a Daisy fan here! i really like the direction you took with her, although one thing it would be nice is it you took a look on her Original design, she used to loook very different from what you seen her nowadays, so maybe you could have incorporated some of her old look (in fact, she WAS tanned like you did her here) in you redeisgn, especially since her dress looked more like a flower, but overall! Love your version of her, Peach and Rosie also look Great!

Tbh your daisy just, doesn't look like Daisy, like her face is wayyy too angled. Like peach has that teardrop shaped face, and Daisy's faceshape in comparison is much softer, i know you wanted to make her most distinct next to Peach, but maybe you went the wrong way, Peach could've be the more angled one, and Daisy the rounder?
Cos otherwise to much that design is just unrecognizable, thats not Daisy Sarasaland thats just a lady wearing orange.(also her head is just,,, kinda small, but i'll shut up abt it)

I think Princess Peach's bangs are supposed to be peach-shaped rather than heart-shaped, like this emoji 🍑 This is how the Japanese depict peaches and Nintendo is a Japanese company after all. Makes sense as a reference to her name, right? Of course, you can still say it's heart-shaped and technically be correct.
Cool redesigns btw, I like your art style. But I must say it's very strange to see these characters with smaller heads and thicker bodies 😂 I mean, normally it's the opposite, their bodies are so small and slender while their heads are super big, so you know, that's what we're used to. Daisy's legs especially caught my attention as very thick in comparison to her head, a little too much so for my personal preference. To be honest she's my least favorite redesign out of the three (I'm sorry, other than the proportions I'm not a big fan of her outfit, it's a little too much for me; I do like the petal boots and gloves though!), while Rosalina's is probably my favorite, followed closely by Peach's😊

Peach and Rosalina are great! I don't think the design for Daisy is necessarily bad, but I don't think such a masculine physic suits her. I know she's referred to as the "tom boy" princess, but I don't think that means she should be stripped of her femininity.
I think the redesigns are really pretty, but they kinda lost the Mario vibe? Like, those designs are how I’d imagine they would dress the princesses in a live-action show. Mario is VERY cartoony and reliant on simplicity.
I like all these designs but two comments:
1. Daisy Looks a bit too muscline for me. I know shes a tomboy but it just seems a little strange.
2. The white hair makes the rosalina redesign look like a deifferent character. If her hair was blonde I think she would resemble the orgininal more
Didn't quite like how Rosalina turned out, seems like she lost quite a bit of the originality she had and doesn't look like herself anymore. The others are great, I like the changes to Daisy's outfit.

I wish I could play Paper Mario but I don’t have the money to do so but I still enjoy watching for Lore of the world of the Mario Brothers.
I think that long coat to mimic a long dress on a skirt + breeches would have been a better solution for Daisy but she's still really cute!

I absolutely love all the designs and details but one thing i did think was i think dress trousers (with dress) would suit daisy more than shorts (with dress):)

As a Princess Daisy fan myself, I love your redesign of her. In a lot of the earlier games she did have a tan due to her ruling over the desert kingdom of Sarasha land. Also, she's a tomboy so it makes more sense for her to wear pants. Excellent work. ❤❤❤

I love the designs you came up with, especially for Rosalina!! Something I think works was making Daisy tanned, especially since she comes from a desert-like habitat (can't think of better words and I forget what her home is called), I think you did amazing, good job!! Keep up the good work!!
