- You guys, you can only imagine we could not even have planned this had we tried and we would have never tried! Our eight year old son Landon (who is an identical twin) had a seizure on Christmas morning last year that required him to be rushed to the emergency room ( • RUSHED TO EMERGENCY RO... ). This year we had hoped and prayed we could have an enjoyable Christmas morning and we DID! Ironically though the day after Christmas he had a seizure as he fell asleep that night. We wanted to share a little of that with you. This was a more mild one than normal. As parents we have been able to learn the severity of them as they occur, this one in particular was mild enough that it was appropriate to turn on the camera for a brief moment. Our Landon is so tough even in the face of challenges!

Did you ever think about a Service dog that can detect when he has a seizure and I am so thankful that he is all right god bless you all
Seizure dogs work best for people who have more frequent seizures (like once a week). If there's too much time between seizures, it's harder to keep up the dog's training.
They can cost upward to 20 grand

Could be possible! My cat can recognise when my panic/anxiety attacks are coming, and she isn't trained. So I dunno, cats definitely have better senses than ours.

Landon, One of my kids has seizures as well, but you know what? He hasn't had one in a really long time, so they do get better as you get older like your dad said. You are one strong young man and all your family are very handsome people. Hang in there kid, it will get better and better. I love watching you all growing up and having a good life.

The Loot Llama , please don’t make comments you have no medical proof of. Yes , there are cases that resolve as they get older but not all. In order to make that assumption you have to know the underlying cause of the seizures (genetic ? Or non genetic , is it focal , partials ? Are they simple partials ? Generalized ? ) were they early onset or late onset ? Were they benign since birth or early times in birth or did they manifest later in childhood ? Unless you know most of these answers then you can’t say they will go away on their own. Yes ,. Very possible he can control them to the point of seizure freedom with meds but some don’t resolve on their own even as they get older.

I could tell he wasn’t feeling his best at the end like his body was starting to show signs that it was going to happen but you guys are blessed to have such a strong young man
My grandson was at my house Christmas Eve and he had a grand mal seizure. He has had epilepsy for 12 years now. Still scares me.
I pray that he's doing well.

Usually I'm a negative person so it was an eye opener and a lesson to see how you turned this scary thing into a less scary thing and you shined a bit of light into the situation. I will work on being more positive especially when I have children. Thank you for sharing. And u are so strong buddy!!!

Just hearing him takes me back 30 years to when I would watch my Mom have seizures. Watching someone have seizures stays with you forever!!
Service dogs are a god send. Especially in the evenings if he’s alone :) they can detect alert others and keep the patient safe!
I’m crying again. I tell you, every single video I cry. I pray so hard for Landon. I really do. It breaks my heart seeing him in that state but I do know how strong and amazing that little boy is. Stay strong mom and dad. I was diagnosed with epilepsy at 15 and I’m now 50. I take my meds everyday and I live a normal, healthy life. Your baby will grow older, get stronger and he’ll be able to manage his condition. Sending love from Los Angeles
I was diagnosed with epilepsy after I was born and like you I am 50. I take medication for it I now have partial onset seizures.

Wonderful parenting, keeping him calm as your mind is running wild in that moment. If you watch when you all four were together talking on camera you notice that Lando gets a little weak in his movement. No doctor but just a observation. Love and prayers to your family. Awesome family! Lando is a warrior!

My twin brother has epilepsy. I woke many mornings to the sound of "snoring" from my brother. He doesn't snore. It was him seizing. I woke my parents and held his hand til it was over. It was scary as heck, but I felt like my brothers protector and my parents always took care of both of us. You guys stay strong. Love is out there and in there.

that's just amazing an 8 year old can come out of a seizure almost just like that.. most seizures aren't always like that.. i had seizures when i was younger but thankfully i outgrew them, so that might just happen, with Landon. he's such a trooper when he has them. plus he did look handsom in his Christmas clothes during the seizure. :).

I have seizure everyday and I have ones at school aswell. I started a RUclips channel called epilepsy stories where I am talking about my epilepsy because I wanted to share my story. I am glad that people like you don't try to hide it and are quite open. I am glad you are ok. 😁😁
